@jonesy262626 He's receiving the special hormone and nanomachine injections that SPARTAN III soldiers receive. They enhance all of his physical and mental capabilities and allow him the ability to wear power armor without being ripped to shreds.

@Pilaf1984 i do not remember any info on spartan 3 soldiers in fact I can not recall any thing about them I remember spartan 2 was the other teams that took place on onyx instead of reach and they did not get this treatment then again the new game does seem to break the cannon of the books but still the process of how a spartan is made is not described anywhere other than the books

@Crazyeraser1 Reach is suppose to take place many years before the first 3 Halo games. And I'd think that Noble 6 is roughly the same age as Master Cheif (my thought) and Bungie announced that it's a totally different character you play as. Sorry if I sounded like a D-bag just puttin' out my ideas and thoughts.

in the books they genetically find the best candidates take them from there familes at the ago of 4-6 and create spartans, when master chief was chosen his entire batch where given parachutes and 5000 feet and told to jump and if you didnt jump they sent you home, john jumped and when he landed nearly beat a kid to death

@cdoggyfizzle when they first start the bio-augmentation program,theyre around 9 or 10 year old,so if anything,he looked a bit old,unless he was at the end of it,plus,spartan 3's are the cheaper versions,they decided to finish the spartan 2 program cos it was too expensive,hence spartan 3s being made public

@YNot1989 Reach is based around SPARTAN-IIIs who tend to be older than SPARTAN-IIs at that stage.

the issue with them being SPARTAN-IIIs is that the S-IIIs only ever deploy on a single mission since they're expected to all die, meaning that they are also all the same and aren't customizable like in this game. NTM S-IIIs were never in small units, but always cannon fodder style numbers
