  • wow all the negativity!

  • "the fornix"?! where did that come from?

  • @whothehellisthat in the braaaain geez.

  • This review is worthless. It's completely ineffective and basically irrelevant. I wouldn't even call it a review; it's a summary, and a poor one at that.

  • @konnybonesjones what information would you like for me to provide in consideration that your feedback is ineffective and basically irrelevant in my eyes, as I have gained no insight. i appreciate constructive criticism, but make it constructive. generally my reviews are quick summaries with my thoughts on what I felt about the book, as well as some interesting background information.

  • @katinatreesee Here's some very constructive criticism: If you're making a review, make a review.

  • @katinatreesee i think he means how you didn't explain the subtlety of the the character interactions and what you thought about the themes of the novel. you didn't really touch on any of the meaning of the book you just kind of summed it up as he says. not trying to knock you for trying just offering some constructive criticism because you asked.

  • This is one of my favorite SF novels. Great book.

But the very concept of planetary invasion is absurd. If you can get into space on that scale, you no longer need planets. And if you see other races as competition, you just bombard them from orbit.

I've heard repeatedly that there will be a film. The two sequels were far weaker. I have recommended this book to everyone. I have never recommended the sequels.

  • @tetsubo57 well there was no threat to of invasion to begin with. if you read the book you would have known that. the story isn't about space and aliens its about overcoming differences and loving your neighbor. its about seeing past the vast distances in culture that keep humans from knowing (loving) one another.

  • @atwoods3 Did you read my post?

The point could have been made without the absurdity of interplanetary warfare however. I felt it detracted from the message. Even though I still love the novel.

  • @tetsubo57 dude its science fiction. if you dont like themes like that then read something based more firmly in reality.

  • @atwoods3 Which is why I no longer read any form of fiction.

  • @tetsubo57 actually i want to apologize for the aggressive tone of my comments. I mean you said you enjoyed the novel so why should i suggest that you not read sci fi? but yeah great book good stuff and again sorry for being rude.

  • why do hot girls always complain that they look awful?

I bet it wouldn't have received these awards if they had known that Card is sort of a male Sarah Palin.

  • this book got me into reading more books. i just used to read goosebumps books. now i read all this orson scott and sci fi stuff. thank you orsan scott. good vid. go eat sum soup

  • I love this book.

  • woohoo day 111

  • woohoo Ender's Game!!!

rofl ending the plot summary saying its his 'coming of age' story lol. That isn't at all what the books about, well, I guess sort of but not really haha.

Anyway as someone who love the series this was a great review, but I'm not sure a newcoming would feel the same way lol. For those people GO READ IT! :P

  • @Urgo6667 Sure it's a coming-of-age story! He loses his innocence, learns about lies, manipulation, and power struggles, and has fam. probs! Give me a break LOL, but I agree with you - it's not primarily that... at all LOL

  • @katinatreesee Yeah but I mean when you say 'coming of age story' you think its all touchy feely drama, which I'm not saying is bad, its just not science fiction :)

  • @katinatreesee yah, i agree, it's not primarily that, but its sure a big part of it, the character is round, whereas his brother Peter is rather flat. I liked the sister a lot, she's likeable as Phoebe Caulfield.

the amount of people expressing disgust with Card when they found what really was like, is astounding though.

My question to you: can we really enjoy a book when we think the writer is depraved and kinda evil? Should it be ... discarded?

  • @regger099 No, but I think that we should be conscious when we are reading books by someone who may have a hidden agenda and who may be trying to influence our thoughts and actions in ways that are ethically wrong

  • Also, I'm glad that you like it even though I'm a mess LOL

  • Katrina, you always look pretty in all your videos.

  • @JohnsPointOfView awww thanks, John! :D
