We have the Isha Kriya practice now, but it was just 2 years ago that we were blessed enough to encounter holy Mount Kailash on a pilgrimage.... so much beyond any ability of mine to describe. As the person (maybe a sherpa?) in this video says, "It's the Holy Mountain."
Your video is great! I'm traveling to Kailash with a small group in September of this year and was reassured that the kora can be accomplished by more mature adults. I know Paul Horn did the kora at age 70, so that was comforting to me. I'm a seeker who's still young at heart, physically fit and ready for the adventure.
I just posted a video of my own trek around Kailash from 2004, so I've been checking out some other videos on the topic. This one is very well done. Thanks for sharing it!
is it just me or does mt kailash resemble a man made temple? such as the olmecs and aztech used to make? it cleary has a line running from top to bottom on one side and what looks like steps through the snow. it to me look liks a aztec pyramid! doesn anyone know why this mountain is sacred? the firt original reason. anyone?
Kailash is holy for a number of reasons. Look them up. But you must first realize that man-made temples resemble mountains, not the other way around. An aztec pyramid looks like Kailash. The "first original reason" Kailash is sacred is because it is God's creation, not man's. When you understand this then you understand why mountains and Nature are more sacred than churches and anything human.
I'm glad I did it then. Because doing it in the near future could be either more dangerous or impossible because of the worsening political situation.
Hi, I have made kora around Kailash 3 times, 10 years ago.
It is wonderfull to see once more this places. Just difference- I had no car, no guide , no tent, no yaks. I always did it by my own in 3 days. Very difficult. I met one Tibetan lama who did this kora 16 times by prostrations!
Wow! You're well on your way to a good next life. We met an old man along the way who says he did it 100 times! It was a little tougher because I was shooting and carrying 30 lbs. of gear on my back. Still, I'd do it again- but slower. And maybe without the camera.
Wait until you see the documentary. I'm putting up some new clips soon. How was the weather in September? I feel like we got lucky to have about half good weather, half terrible. Did you enjoy the hike up to Dolma La? Any altitude problems?
these are one of the best videos one can get on kailash mansrover yatra, iam wondering how one can recharge there camera battery there, or they must be using it wisely for good shots only.
Oops! I forgot to put it back up after Current TV demanded I take it down after posting it there. It's no longer on Current so I'll put it back up. Thanks!
Thank you. May I add these links Video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=POSKOASN31o and The Tibetan Photo Project at http://www.tibetanphotoproject.com... Visually and respectfully yours, Joe Mickey
