T:V was not hard to master. Tribes was. Tribes 2 was awful until classic and eventually base became alright. T:V was laughable. Ruined ski'ing entirely, made base repair super simple, etc.
Competitive play did all but stop. Don't kid yourself. Vengeance was a trainwreck without thought. So easy to destroy a BE base compared to a phoenix base. Stupid. Pod destroyed basically everything. Non-regs. I wanted it to be awesome but the game was a god awful mess.

Also, if they managed to include a Darkspace-Based Multiplayer interface and turn this a KIND OF mmo, it would be perfect. as territories of a team would never be gone. it would be a endless, infinite, beautiful, skilled, intelectual.... perfect war.

Tribes always had, and still has, the kind of vibe where all you want to do is see how good you can do. It doesn't really focus on your K/D ratio then rub it in your face when you do bad, like CoD does. You know what I mean?

In essence, making it a ground based shooter. I will admit, though, COD is horse shit compared to BF, which in turn is shit compared to tribes.
@kush2121 Another reason why PC gaming is slowly going into the shitter. The simple answer is to not play on servers that are run by retards. BF's core has always been vehicles and the infantry combat was always inferior so the idea of restricting players is fucking idiotic.
People like to blame consoles for ruining PC gaming but frankly it's the terrible HARDCOREZ player base that is slowly destroying PC gaming.

Most games these days require a gaming computer to run on highest settings, which a lot people want to do. They don't want to play a basic looking version of the game. So, they turn to console. it's cheaper and you can get the most out of the game because each console is standardized.

Most people prefer 'point, click, kill' fps games more. T:V is a game which is easily learned, though hard to master. The more people became better at it, the harder it became for 'newsbloods' to fit into the game. Then the day came that the main servers were pulled down, and it all became less active :(
The problem was that all the core T1 and T2 fans of the franchise were bitterly disappointed with T:V.
It was a dumbed down, clunky excuse for a Tribes game. Skiing was horrible, no ability to move out of bounds, grapple was overpowered, MP felt like an after thought.
Then the developers stopped supporting it, no patches were released, and competitive T:V all but stopped.
@GKFC T1 and T2 fans made up a tiny minority of the intended audience. Their opinions of the game had virtually nothing to do with the game's commercial failure.

Funny this was just recently added and I was wishing I could remember/find this video. After doing a ton of researching and thinking I remembered the name of it.
Whoever says Tribes 2 sucked, probably never gave the game a chance. Tribes 2 was a great game, sure not as fun as first Tribes but still great.
