  • just doesn't get any funnier than this does it

  • WELL Done .... let's keep the old ENGLISH culture alive !!! We love it.

  • Similar dance forms are found all over europe, but each is unique in some respects. Its just so sad that in England our traditions are being eroded by the PC brigade.

  • Good stuff!

  • Yes we will all feel safer sleeping in our beds tonight, cos of these hanky wavers. And not down to the fact, that our brave men and women are risking the lifes in wars.

  • Precise lines ,fit young men enjoying the fun of the dance of olde England, lovely music played well .Im old and grey but I used to dance many years ago ,and it was the loveliest part of my life to be able to do so .I am so glad to see such a polished side and I feel so proud of the way it was presented. We can never fear of our future when we have guys like this ,bravo ,enjoy your dancing lads ,and well done, you are a credit to our modern England

  • These are good! I prefer the Border to Cotswold

  • This is an ancient pre-christian Romanian dance brought to Britain by Dacians incorporated in Roman legions. Search for "Calusari Dance" to see the original version :)))

  • Keep up the good morris dancing.

  • This video somes up the English, a fucking joke ...

  • @chimaira6668 LMFAO

  • @chimaira6668 ' Somes up' ??? Just about SUMS UP your attitude. When your other braincell comes back from vacationlet's all hope it tells you to keep your foul mouth out of print and buy a dictionary.

  • @chimaira6668

Thank you, which one are you? Scottish welsh Irish Cornish Muslim or French.....

  • @Shropshireladdie

    Scottish

  • @chimaira6668

Why did you come on here? Morris dancing is English, i dont go onto your videos on giving bagpipes a blowjob and make comments about your nation being a 'joke'.

  • @chimaira6668 I would make fun of the Scottish back by saying how the men wear skirts and bagpipes sound awful. I would also rub it in your face that the famous 'Scottish' dish Haggis was actually invented in North England but I'm a bit more respectful of other cultures and have nothing against Scottish culture but clearly some people can't do the same.

  • @12thNameITried

WOTS AT MATE YAH WANNAH GO DOWN TO THA CHIPPY N GET SOME CHIPS ?

  • Just love the tune and the wonderfully relaxed and confident dancing style. Good old England!

  • there are some things the English can't/shouldn't do. Dancing is one of them.

  • please search for "calusarii romania" on tube! ...after you do addmit you are one of us...we're all connected!

    Nice costumes, well dance...

these guys put everything what they can do in a these dance!!!!!

    good video :)

  • I really like your costumes they are handsome and festive.

  • Was this part of a mating ritual?

  • At the Mayday Festival in our town we had a German OOm Pah band and some morris dancers. When the morris dancers had done their bit I overheard one of the germans say, 'How did we ever lose the war against these people'!

  • @flower150 You could have told him that "when we play we play. When we fight we fight like mad"

  • Good dance. lovely tune .can anyone tell me what it is

  • Hi there! The tune is called 'Wind the Bobbin' Up' (one of my favourites!) ;o)]

  • Men in England have danced for hundreds (thousands?) of years like this in spring in the Cotswolds an area south of London, each town has its own distinctive dance. They have contests and try to out dance each other. Its called Morris dancing and started with fertility rites way back long ago, like the maypole. They also dance with scarves and bells, its fun, there might be some in your city that do it even.

  • first monday of may

  • cotswolds... south of london??

  • Several corrections to the above! the earliest records we have of morris are from late 1400s. and it has NOTHING to do with fertility rites! This is not Cotswold Morris (Cotswolds by the way or North of London Gloucestershire/Oxfordshire) this is Border Morris - a tradition from the Welsh borders.traditional tome for dancing in this area is around Christmas not Spring. It is not competetive.

Dave - Ironmen Morris. Ironbridge, Shropshire.

  • dude morris on

  • go morris. i was banging my stick in time to the music watching this

  • Which one is Morris? I got a mate name Morris but he can't dance.... not this good anyway.

  • Very neat lines and very well done :)

  • Morris On!

  • Dude!

  • One of the many reasons why I love England and English culture and history. Great clip.

  • Well done. We get the whole dance, and we can hear the music - a bit low in volume, but there is no distortion.

  • Who was it said "There are things you should try only once....?

  • Fun clip. Wish we had Morris Dancing in the San Francisco, CA USA area. Only get to see it at the yearly Dickens Faire in December. Great music too. Do women ever perform Morris dancing, or is just for men? Thanks for posting.

  • Actually I've heard there is a big may day celebration in the SF area with lots of local teams. Try googling Berkely Morris or the White Rats, or checking one of the online morris dancing directories.

  • have been morris dancing 25 years in NZ . It sure beats rugby !

  • yay, I just got back from this year's festival, and it was aaaaaace! The dancing was great as usual!

  • I'm stuck in the middle of Birmingham, but crazy about morris dancing. Wish I could be involved.

  • Move to the USA, we morris dance in the middle of cities often.

  • Why would she need to go all the way to the USA to Morris dance??? It's an English tradition not American tradition and it's practised everywhere in rural England.

  • There are a few morris teams in Birmingham if you're interested. Google will show you... Otherwise, the Ironmen practice in Telford, which is only 40 minutes from Bormingham centre in a car!

  • Yes, indeed, we need more morrising!

  • Great clip sir! To misquote Father Ted, "More of this sort of thing"!
