@bphendri: This ISN'T the 64 version, it is the Plus/4 version. Although it is still a 64k game (one of the few which existed for the Plus/4), the Plus/4 was inferior to the 64, or so I have heard. That is probably why there are no runway lines.
I used to love playing this. I had both the plus/4 and the C-16 version (my dad bought me the wrong version for christmas). I remember the hills/mountains never poped up above the horizon like they did in the CBM-64 version.
Refueling in the air was hard but possible. Sometimes it would take you to the other side of the map just to get a full tank if you don't get a "COLLISION WARNING" . There were no save game on these games so you would have to play 'till the early hours of the morning, leave your c64 on, go to bed and finish it the next day. Every time I crashed I'd jump out of my seat. Best crash experience ever. Everyone enjoyed these games as kids. I was in my mid 20's....lol
"Eject eject engine destroyed!" I had a Plus/4 and this was my favourite game. Others I loved were Fire Ant, Saboteur and that 4 game pack which had Jump Jet, Las Vegas (fruit machine), a flight simulator (737?) and something else.
i loved this,me and a friend play at the same time me one joystick[pilot] and my pal on keyboard[navigator/ gunner],we ruled, now im 38year old a hgv driver and my friend is a fitter funny how things turn out anyhow good times
this used to take 30 mins to load and quite often used to crash right aat the death... mind you i loved it wwhen it did work and got really good at it as well :)
used to play this with a friend. 2 joysticks, 1 pilot and 1 gunner, my first ever decent taste of co-op home gaming. Thanks for the trip down memory lane :-)
All that hard work and you ended up doing the enemies job for them.
I was never any good at flight sims. This version doesn't work on a C16, which has it's scaled down version which looks alright too, I haven't played either tbh.
I spent hours and hours playing this! Thanks for the vid!

I could have sworn the C-64 version had a runway centerline.

Wow. I had this. I could never quite work out how to fly properly. I think I saw, like, one plane in all my days playing this.
