@jawsflounderace I used them on and off. I think this fish was caught on a Striper Bass hook. I actually caught my biggest Fluke this year on a Striped Bass hook the beginning of June near the Statute of Liberty. 7.5 Pounder.

Blues are my favorite fish to catch. Nothing fights like them pound for pound. But every time I try to take my kids out to catch them they get seasick.

The small ones are good to eat. When they get too big, they get a bit oily and fishy tasting. Some people like the big ones too.

We use eels to catch Striper Bass so you know.

Cool place. Thanks for your comment. We have been fishing the Kills by boat for the past 10 years. My kids love it there. That was April and pretty early for Blues this year.

Tons of Stripers, Weak Fish, Fluke and Blue Fish there. Great spot to fish.

Do you know the name of that brownish-orange fish that look like a flying fish?

The brownish fishing is a Sea Robin. We catch tons of them on squid. They love it on the bottom. When you fish for Fluke they seem to show up a lot.+
