Penetration "Nostalgia"

Nostalgia is credited to Pete Shelley and it appeared on the 2nd Buzzocks album Love Bites. Nevertheless, a cracking rendition by Pauline and the band!

Pete Shelley did indeed write "Nostalgia". I rarely attempt to put in the descriptions who wrote the songs...it'd be a minefield ! And as you say, a great version of this song; Pauline Murray has one powerful voice !

I've just looked up my CD, and it was Pete Shelley.

As far as I can tell, Penetration wrote all the rest of their music.

The bass player in penetration, Rob Blamire, is my graphics tutor in college!! No lie

Penetration reformed a few years ago. Does that mean he's doing both ? Although I don't suppose there's a great deal of money in a Penetration gig ! They'll mainly be doing it for the fun of it I'd imagine.

I got their DVD "Celebrating 23 years out of the music industry", and it's great !

Remember seeing Penetration at the Mayfair Club in Birmingham, late 1978, supported by some Afro-reggae band called Iganda ( never heard of since ). Great gig, I`d just turned 15 and it was a club, so no questions asked for beer at the bar. Nostalgia indeed, Cheers !

She's in Newcastle most of the time. Gigging around the country the rest of the time. Not too hard to find - unless you've been living under a rock. Plays gigs pretty regularly with Penetration.

Whenever this Buzzcocks song pops into my head, it's always Penetration's version of it. It popped into my head today and I'm glad someone's posted it here.
