none of those explanations make sense, it moves more so it's not conserving energy, there aren't many leaves in the desert so it will be noticed anyway, and it's feet spend more time touching the ground that way.

@hidanrulesusuck i believe it's actually to protect it's feet against the hot desert sands. although the leaf thing might be true too.
