  • email viruses are old and never really a popular way to get a virus. most viruses actually come from exploits in the users firewall and force themselves in rather than an email virus a stupid move since the user has to actually run a .exe file from the email. Also some of the viruses today come from JS downloader. They usually come from download sites or porn sites and force themselves into your computer. They often say they are something they're not like a keygen.rogue viruses seem popular today

  • depends what kind of virus it is, what code it is made for python, javascript, delphi lua whatever finds a glitch and makes a malicious code that distorts it, then that can be later patched by coders

  • so wait tron is being described.

  • It's surprising, given this clip's age, that he didn't take a moment to explain e-mail.

  • Ugh, look at those fugly 90's computers

  • @AtomicLemonade those are only early 2000-2005 pcs

  • crackers and hackers are getting smarter and smarter, and finding more ways to compromise your system, thats why last years malware are obsolete compared to todays malware..

  • viruses have evolved a lot

  • lol old school. floppy disks and vhs movies. the good old days.

  • Do people actually not know what floppy discs are?!

  • @iretluffrebeccablack disks that are floppy.. yehey floppy disk!

  • @jebbtalle Have you ever seen/used one though?

  • ahhhhhhh floppy discs??????

  • um? you dont put floppy discs in computers.... god.

  • @theconify Where do you put them then?

  • could he be any more superficial?

  • whats a floppy disc!?

  • what does he says after computer viruses can... can anyone tell me

  • watching a video on computer viruses and getting brain washed to buy a bed at dfs loool

  • Come on I am not 1st grade

  • And you will also get a virus watching this video.

  • This is what we know... I want to see what i dont know

  • Ohh, floppy disc. The last time i used one of those was about 6 years ago. I think they are still common in East Africa.

  • old skool

  • Yeah, thats how every virus in the world works...

  • @MrLinuxxon First of all, don't copy top comments with fixed grammar hoping to get attention and thumbs up. Second of all, see number one.

  • Yeah this is how stuff worked 10 years ago.

  • FLOPPY DISK???????

  • funniest thing happened

so i click on this video and ad pops up for windows 7 LOL

  • Flop disk

it means that the disk flops

  • what is this Virus you speak of? is it IE?

  • E-Mail virus? Never had one. Maybe Ubuntu actually has a WORKING firewall.

  • @Danielkchoi Or maybe cause nobody uses Ubuntu so nobody bothers to make a virus for it. Same with apple.

  • but will it blend

  • lol floppy disk

  • What is that "floppy disc" he is talking about?

  • @Marc1uz It's something that was for computers, like 10 years ago maybe.

  • @Marc1uz type floppy disk into google and click images.

  • @Marc1uz Its what he had before opening the email, after he had a hard drive :P

  • I Repair Computer Viruses / any other problems Remotely For Low Price Contact me 1-323-412-0154 thanks!

  • Floppy Disk?

  • Yea thats how viruses worked 10 years ago

  • @peppypegasus Thats how they work now too dumb ass fucking little kid!

  • haha you play call of duty 4

  • Floppy disk? this video was in 2007

  • Extremely poor description of a virus. I'm still left wondering what a virus is.....

  • @Aonexia It's something that harms your computer

  • you actually have computer virus now for watching this video.

  • I thought he was going to tell me how a virus works, not how it spreads. and how old is this, a floppy disk, really. my computer doesn't even have a place for a floppy disk.

  • Last time I check humans can't transfer their virus's with a floppy disk XD

  • wtf do the animations have anything to do with computer viruses?

  • this ad looks incredibly old, he is using windows ME

  • Wtf is a floppy disk

  • I think we're safe because no one uses floppy disks anymore XD

  • Guess how old i am after that words i said

    they're MY OWN words

  • my theory is that it enters the system and then it hacks the command energy sent from the Central Process Unit(CPU) And sends wrong directions and wrong commands to the computer confusing it and making it suffer from wrong codifications and the virus expands until reaching the last point of the computer infecting it and causing it to crash or to suffer big damages

  • I'm 15 and I know Wat a floppy disk is

  • so... a virus is a spyder that rapes programs? cool

  • yall dont know a damn thing on how fuckin stuff works. the computer virus crawls inside your harddrive and installs itself without you knowing it. an email virus are the same as a computer virus and there hard to deal with. remember ILOVEYOU? fuckin haaard!

  • @mickyd110011 Not really, the virus has to be initiated by you some how, whether thats via email, executable file, java file etc. Plus viruses aren't that hard to get rid off, just scan daily, and/or open websites you're curious about on a mobile device, like an iPod/iPhone.

  • @xNJLM yeah, i was talking about timed viruses.

  • @mickyd110011 but still, don't you need to initiate it in anyway, like with an email, you have to open it, with an executable you have to run it...?

  • lulzwtf is a floppy disk xD

    old news is old

  • @lzeppelinroxx If you are from the 90s you would know what a floppy disk is.

  • stupid video, but thanks for the effort. :)

  • Wow I have never had a virus I only get viruses when I get stuff from big companys like intel or ati? And avast works good to block even when I want to virus my computer

  • On topic Address book spreads viruses. Thats why I never used the MS E-mail program. It was the easiest program to abuse because of programing openness to be manipulated for good/legit ideas. Those users had to put up with SPAM as a lifestyle. I used cheap/old Juno & NetZero E-mail applications which did not let you use MS as a mail box anyway. I never had to worry about my address book being used to spread viruses, and never had problems with spam like everybody else. *Use old PC just 4 mail.

  • How old is this?

  • when my computer gets a virus i tell people my computer has aides

  • Next vid should be: How sex works

  • @SoLSn1p3r omfg, you are 22 and don't know how sex works???

  • Was he using windows 95? When was this recorded?

  • @RainbowManification 1995, lol

  • by the smile on his face, he knows that virus are products of the anti-virus companies...

back in the BBS, irc ERA, kids were the ones that made viruses , today, with the large FEAR industry , 99% of the world's viruses are, professionally made, with the function to give Anti-virus business its purpose...

  • wow this is basically oversimplifying to the point of not even telling you anything... and whats with the cheezy graphics, i feel like all those fancy 3d models that had nothing to do with how computers work only makes the video more confusing

  • lol you can tell how old this video is he said floppy disk

  • IS That Windows 98 on his Computer

  • "Or through a floppy disk"

WHO THE FUCK USES THOSE THINGS ANYMORE WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS 1902

  • @SuperEvilLemon Im Using Floppy Disk

  • @SuperEvilLemon look at the date of the video

  • Vaginal Fluids.

  • AVG watched this video 12.879x times!

  • Floppy disk!??? LOL I am looking for the floppy disk slot! lol

  • a floppy disk xDD

  • the generic stock music wants to make me shoot myself

  • is it illegal if i tell you the worlds simplest trojan virus?

  • 0:28

wow its like STD's in the computer world :D

  • i wish i could fit the earth inside my brain cavity, then open my head and whip it out whenever i want....

  • this guy must know a lot by now since he works for HowStuffWorks

  • He is looks like that orange you always dont buy it cause it 2 black

  • Yeah always watch out who you whip out your floppy to.

  • darn!! it was uploaded on 2007!!

  • 0:45 Now starting Windows 3.1...

  • the guys name is Marshall Brain.

  • what is this

  • I never gonna use a Floppy again

  • Actually computer viruses look like binary code as everything processed by a processor HAS to be in that form. Viruses gain access to other operating system call's to allow it to catch information like ip addresses from recently visted websites.

There is one way you can implant a virus- it called 'Buffer Overload' - pretty much, you can gain access to the currently processing memory in a firewall...Most software these days now block you from doing though...

  • 480p in 2007, I'm quite surprised!

  • So basically it a program that makes copies of itself. That's it? I do that all the time with online programs. Called pirating

  • Do computer virus really look like that? I mean really?

  • Its like a STD

  • @fiemosport1 Damn right

  • @fiemosport1 what is it "STD' ?

  • Comment removed

  • @TheSilver99 if you dont know what std is then you are not 18 its a sexually transmitted disese

  • @wampaAWESOMEsauce believe me or not, but in few months ago came my 18th birthday

  • @TheSilver99 well you learn about stds in like 7th grade

  • @TheSilver99 ;)

  • @fiemosport1 yeah the kind of people who click on anything, especially in suspicious websites without any protection. Now replace click with f*ck, and suspicious websites with weird uneducated people.

  • How Computer Viruses Work:

    Using Microsoft software

    Watching, downloading and sharing porn

    Going to file sharing services

Going to Kids site (I heard they get infected)

    Using a computer in general

    Solution:

Don't use a computer and get a life

  • next make video: how dog's penis work

  • @qaLLeboiqA Hobknocker!

  • You know your forehead gives away that you jerk off a lot.

Other than that, great vids, very helpful thanks! lol

  • WRONG! You can't protect yourself from any anti-virus cause some of them are pretty useless when free version for example can scan specific virus's but cannot remove one of those that are a fake threat that wants you to pay for it, that's for the free users. The only most protective anti-virus programs i know are Coomodo, Microsoft Essentials Anti-virus, Malawarebyte and Nod so whoever is reading this trust me the anti-virus's i counted are free (not sure about nod) and they promise protection

  • I like these videos cuz of the animations thumbs up if you agree

  • I like these videos cuz of the animations thumbs up if you agree

  • lmao i like how your talking about viruses with happy music in the background :P

  • It is tronain, the electronic train! I love the modem sound in the background, if you hold it up to a 300 baud it says "SNARF!" srsly.

  • AIDS

  • Wrong, the most virus' are from porn now.

  • I opend a attachment with virus, but i knew what is in there, how do i get rid of virus?

  • @Shagron1349 Use an Antivirus to detect the virus. After that the antivir will send the virus to quarantine or delete it with the infected files.

  • @TheSarinson But AntiVir is allways turned off when i turn it on. lol

  • over email? how old is this video?? maked 1999 and pubblished 2007^^

  • He said floppy disk....ah nostalgia

  • Omg ... totally wrong...viruses are maked on a UNIX based code....they are no spiders or big black cocks ..

  • @OltyDaniel They're obviously trying to simplify it as not everyone knows what windows is. A lot of peole who have PC's only know the start button and 'Internet Explorer'... My mother is one of those people. Also, not all viruses are made on a UNIX based code, so to say. They can be MADE in numerous programming languages. Popular languages would be c++, C, c# (the C family is most powerful).

I could go on, but since there's 500 characters, I say to you:

Quit acting like a smart ass, kid.

  • @VideoGamerHD I made one mistake in my comment :P

  • haha its like teaching a 5 year old about menstruation.... if u know some programming language, this will make you laugh

  • how does a virus scanner work :3

  • or a floppy disc...

    xD

  • i have an old laptop like that with old games on it.

  • Had a virus that fucked up my regristy and had the pc overclocking to insane levels one time.

  • Haha Floppy Disk, this is so old :p

  • Oh shit,... does this mean I just got infected???

  • So.....the virus is a lamp that bangs the program files?

  • How Stuff Works is a program on Discovery Channel!

  • that guy has evil face O.O

  • How stuff works is a TV program

  • this is why you get linux :)

  • Connecting one to another gets a Virus. Machines at Work gets a Virus. Microphones. Car Stereo Decks. Amplifiers. CD Players. DVD Players. Karaoke Machines. Electronic Drums. Guitars. Printers. Radio's. Cell Phones.

  • Household supplies also use computer chips. Things go haywire. Why these viruses dont shut down your computer instantly because its called a "Virus". It attacks you slowly eating away your blood cells. I'd rather shut down the entire network. Government Computers, Televisions, Satellite Signals, Automobile Navigation Systems with Internet Capability, Video Game Consoles, DVD's. Everything with Memory. EVERYTHING at your Electronic Store is infected.

  • 250 Million computers are infected. That's a $10 Billion Dollar Industry. Work Computers, Factory Computers and Computer Chips that are used to Build Laptops are all damaged. Everything at Best Buy is infected including Household Supplies. They think they've fixed the problem. Once you're on the internet it downloads. Every company is on the internet. Now Manufacturers have to go to their Chips and remove these viruses. Rather not connect to the internet.

  • Do you know where Viruses come from? Wall Street!! Now the entire 25 Million computers are all screwed up.

  • really FLOPPY DISKS? is that what 2007 was like, i cant remember.

  • This is a bit outdated mind you 2007, though his safety tips, and information is correct (To some degree, but mind you Viruses, Trojans, and Worms are much different), the newest threats are more like XSS, and FakeAV, the E-Mail generation is still around, but not nearly as bad as it was in 2007.

  • wat the nerd face?

  • Floppies

    Dial internet sounds

    This was uploaded in 2007?

  • Floppy disk? if you're still using floppy disk in this day in age then you deserve to get a virus

  • its how computers slow down and fail wish viruses cont exist in them

  • so a virus is a spider with a sharp dick???

  • NERDGASM!!11!!1!

  • Keep pressing 9

  • Herm...geez, you guys weren't affraid to go into small details, like how viruses can just basically be a few added lines of codes within a program and so on. With that sort of explanation, people will put bugspray in their cases....

  • CAN VIRUS KILL PEOPLE???

  • nope, the virus just killing your computer

  • Thank you... for teaching us something the entire Internet already knew.

  • im marchel BRAIN lol thumbs uppp

  • 0:49 HAHA! Jokes on you i have no friends!!

  • @TheOtherSonicX1561 that made me laugh pretty hard xD

  • @TheOtherSonicX1561 You'll get lonely soon enough.

  • hey but I got an virus just looking at an Email with just text how did it happened ?

  • This wasn't how viruses work, this was what viruses do.

  • 0:38-0:43: Rapists smile.

  • Comment removed

  • solution to viruses: MacBooks

  • another solution to viruses: Linux

  • @MrBearRoars Wrong. Linux is prone to viruses too. It's just not as likely to get one as with Windows.

  • your mom works on my dick goodly not like a viruss

  • who made the viruses? the makers of anti virus it self! the world is screwed!

  • @mindfreak591 lol

  • Floppys disk. So 2007

  • soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo outdated

  • all i learned is that a virus looks like a spider thing with a big cock

  • @80dollarmagicman yeah, and the antivirus is an female spider, that makes the virus go away. lol ;)

  • why is he smiling ?

  • @johnysicko maybe he makes viruses and the only antidote is his antivirus and of course nothing comes for free you have to buy it from him.
