The scales are likely fiberglass reinforced hard plastic, such as G-10, which is a good material btw. Um..a side-sheath or 'merc-style' sheath system would likely be better for your Nimravus. Yea, wearing a knife on the back..it does tend to become 'uncomfortable'..and painful..and annoying. Good video, as usual. I hope your back has healed well. Be safe--and be careful with ya knives..;)
Actually...your lil' owie helped me with a question i had...of whether this knife is retained in the sheath without the snap. So, i guess it is not. Thank you!
Nice review Ally. To clarify, the parachutist retention strap is the nylon strap with the button on it. It keeps your knife in the sheath and from falling thousands of feet onto someone's head while you're parachuting. The upper part is the MOLLE attachment system, which attaches to military MOLLE gear.
NO it is to small, and light. A knife has to be at a minnimum 4'' and a good size is 5.5"-8". This is because to boton with it (splitting wood) you need a larger knife to hit 3.5" is to small. Also it would be to light to chop with so you could not build a shelter with it. You could do it if you had to but you would be pissed shit afterwards...if you made it.
Lol. I'm always clumsy with knives.. Last night I was putting my Rat Cutlery RC4 in my display case and somehow managed to drop the whole case off my desk, knives went everywhere, and I Store them open. And of course, my biggest knife (RC 4) fell out and stabbed me on the top of the foot..Thankfully I was wearing my abominable snow man slippers and it didn't go super deep. Still a bloody mess though.
Wait, so you can move the belt clip down huh?

Great vid, Ally, thanks. I've cut myself up good, too, so no worries. Thanks a lot. I really like this knife, so thanks for the review!

When you say survival knife, what do you mean? What would the use be, of a survival knife, for you?

The screws on the Nimravus series have always had me wondering... just what do they look like underneath the scales?
Any chance you might be able to whip up a quick video or even a simple picture of both the Nimravus and the Cub II without the scales on?
