  • is it legaly certified for areobatics?

  • ..........................BEAUTIFUL!!!

  • looks like duck

  • I'll take one. How much are they? Maybe $600k? More? Less? Hell, I don't know.

  • @sixstringfretter 1,3mil$

  • I saw it takeoff at Burbank. Pretty cool plane. :)

  • hate to break it to everyone but this thing was cancelled a long time ago. The Eclipse 500 and the total Eclipse are the replacement jets.

  • i just dont like the fact that it has 1 engine. engine failure in a cessna is one thing but on this thing?

  • uhh someones getting sued. the design is nearly exact same as cirrus sf50.

  • 2 people don't have any taste in planes.

  • @yamahonkawazuki I stand corrected on the Cirrus Jet. It was previously my understanding that it had been cancelled, but it looks as though they are still moving ahead with it.

  • sold to me at 2:02 - 2:08

  • I like the cessna citation mustang better.

  • it's similar to Heinkel He-162C =) Special tail and engine on the fuselage.

  • eclipse jet's still in production?

  • @wero8a1 heard these ppl went bankrupt

  • Is it pressurized?

  • All very light jet use same engine Williams FJ33-4

  • @MafiaGENGTEAM1970 No, they don't. This one uses the PW 615 along with the Citation Mustang. The HondaJet will have the GE HF120 engine. Even this airplane's big brother, the Eclipse 500, uses the PW610. The only VLJs that even attempted to use the FJ33 were the Cirrus jet and the Diamond jet, and neither of those made it to production.

  • @BenGaut there are videos out of the cirrus in its certification tests. a production model.

  • I'm not sure, but I'm starting to like the looks of the new Piper Jet, the Altaire. Whole new design, and Garmin 3000. 360ktas@FL350 and a flexible, large cabin. Supposedly, one can actually have a potty/extra seat/flexible space due to the larger cabin diameter they've got now. Let's see one fly @ advertised price&performance. If the projections are right, looks like the TBM has some real competition. I hope Piper can really pull this one off, without compromises or increased costs!

  • MAx cruise 330KT? Doesnt sound like much compared to other little jets (twins of course).

This is way too small for a jet. Kind of pointless. Guess thats why it got cancelled.

  • I want 1

  • the eclipse 400 was cancelled cos they went bankrupt, and a y shape for the stabilisers is dangerous compared to the normal setup

  • why is the eclips 400 have the same air frame as the sj50

  • I'm surprised the light jets such as this one have rather low performance. The turboprop TBM 850 with it's PT6 has high cruise of 320ktas @ FL310.

  • @ThatMiserableCat well its a single. Most light jets are twins.

  • @pk5887 Roger that. I guess I'm impressed with the TBM 850 w/320ktas, and would expect a (single) jet to have just a bit more--maybe 375ktas? I dunno, I suppose I'd like to see the jet go faster than the propster !!

  • that is one badass little aircraft!

  • Simply a beautiful and efficient jet. Amamzing!

  • German design - looks like a He 162 Salamander ;-)

  • It is more than an airplane, it is a flying sculpture.

  • company is bankrupt as fuck

  • ok this aircraft just looks no good for its price. look at our small it is! you could maybe put a cat in the back and plus eclipse went bankrupt so if you break a major part on your aircraft your screwed!

  • @cupcakekevin277 what you want for 1,3mil. dollars? you can land whit it on any small airport and it has much more space than some sportscar for that price

  • @patko1610 i would want more room than that the landing at almost any small airport is nice but thats all it has going for it

  • @cupcakekevin277 well youve right but its cheap anyway when you thing what car wloud you get for that price

  • @patko1610 why would you pay that much for a car? you could get a good car for average price and then still have money for the jet your comment doesnt make much sense so i dont know if im answering it right

  • @cupcakekevin277 well yeah thats true but the this plane for the price you get here is pretty much enought i can see your point and yses youve apsolutley right it need more space but for price its enought

  • @patko1610 ok yea its cheap but just a little to much for what space it provides i understand what you mean though maybe if they added two more seats?

  • Nice plane! They need a matching motto: "Eclipse - Expensive as Fuck"

  • This looks like it'd be incredibly unsafe. Its tiny one engine no vertical stabilizer yikes

    Is the cabin pressurized?

  • 1 for me please. Take the money out of my giro

  • wow this is really nice, this shouldn't be only available for the richest among us

  • It might not be fast BUT i notice it is the only one that does a nice full roll

  • a not soo espensive private jet at last..

  • United 535 slow to slowest practical speed. You are following an eclipse jet.

  • 1 jet engine provides no safety when a birdstrike occurs ...

  • @skatiaris21 ..no.. this entire aircraft is smaller than a bird so.. it might just slice through instead of .... striking... LMAO.. .

  • Doesn't seem like the single jet would provide enough thrust? Although it is a small plane so I'm probably wrong.

  • @Beamernator how much thrust is enough thrust in your opinion?

or to phrase it differently: can you give us a figure?

  • @lecomte57 The jet just looks so small in the video. Not trying to get in an argument.. Just stating my opinion. A typical Learjet engine produces about 3700 lbs thrust per engine. Does this plane have a Pratt & Whitney PW615F or a Pratt & Whitney PW600 engine? Because they both only produce less than 1700 lbs thrust... See what I'm sayin? A Learjet has around 7400 lbs thrust total. This plane- 1400+- around 200.

  • Comment removed

  • @Beamernator Well lets see now....The PW Canada 615F engine produces 1,200 lbf to for an aircraft of 4480 lbs MTOW. This gives a thrust to weight ratio of 0.26. The Boeing 737-800 has an MTOW of 187,700 lbs wih 2 CFM56-7 engines of 27,300 lbf each giving a T/W ratio of 0.29. So basically....'bout the same as a 737.

  • Heinkel He 162 copy.

  • thats right heinkel 162 copy i love it the heinkel i have a toturial

  • not surrprising this company went out of bussiness

  • I have a friend who ordered one of the larger eclipse jets(I think it's called the Eclipse 500) to replace his 421, but the company went out of business like you said. So he lost all of the money he put down.

  • I am surprised this video has more views than the Eclipse 500. thanks for watching.

    Production Outfitters, Albuquerque

  • damn thats sicj

  • There is no way your Mooney Bravo does 255Kts at 15K ft - the Aclaim which replaced the Bravo can't do that at 25K ft!!

Wiki quote Currently, the Acclaim's 242 knot cruise speed at FL250" and yes I'm a pilot and have flown in the airplane (right seat)

  • That V-tail seems to be designed by the former F-117A staff. Noone other plane, besides Cirrus Jet has the same shape of tail nowadays.

  • Comment removed

  • Did you hear about Fouga Magister?

  • this is incorrect, there's the V-tail Beechcraft Bonanza, and the Fouaga Magister.

  • Buy this jet and a copy of the song Danger Zone.

  • I must have one!

  • if you have 1.3 million just laying around then shure go buy one

  • I own a Mooney Bravo capable of cruising at 255 kts @ approx 15,000 ft.

    Great aircraft.

This jet is pretty damn slow, but nice

  • Most VLJ's are slower than most business jets. People need to realise that VLJ's are designed to fill the gap between 6-8 seater twin engine props, and business jets.

They are not designed to deliver the same type of performance that one would expect from your average business jet. Hence the much lower purchase cost.

  • Does your plane fly at 41,000 feet? I didn't think so... BTW are you going a bit quick for your Mooney? Even the turbo normalised ones maximum speed was like 250kts or something. Long range cruise on this is 290 and max cruise is 330. I wonder what VNE is? Ii dont think they have said yet... it would be interesting to know.

Oh and climb rate is 2000 feet per minute - nice!

  • yeah you're piper cherokee also has problems of reaching 90 knots into the wind haha. jk cherokee's are incredible planes but you shouldn't diss this plane it's incredible, just leave the fat bitches behind

  • its payload is 580 lbs ???? my piper cherokee has a better payload then that

  • Thats fuel payload. Read :p

  • actually thats "full fuel payload" meaning if you fill the fuel tanks to full, you can put 580 pounds of people and baggage in the seats.

Thats pretty good compared to other single jet airplanes (and quite a few piston engine airplanes) but since the company has gone out of business I guess it is a moot point:-(

  • I think it's a moo point. You know, like a cow's opinion, it doesn't matter.

  • don't be so hard on yourself. I'm sure no one else thinks of you as a cow:-)

  • Mooooo! (had to say it LOL)

  • eclipse just bumped the price of the 500 by $450,000 to try to to not go broke....its not working so hot. they are being forced to return a LOT of deposits, and basically using the fact that people are jumping ship on the extra half mil for the 500 to push the 400

  • Eclipse just filed for Bankruptcy FYI. If you had a deposit with them, you can kiss it goodbye.

  • yea i and in between either the eclipse 400 or the Epic Victory. i like how this plane has a higher service cielling and a little higher speed but i dont like the joystick i would rather use a yoke which the Epic Victory has. also i dont really like the look of the forward swept wing of the 400. plus the Victory is under 1 milion.

  • awesome~~~

i'm currently doing my final year project with title of Very Light Jet.

and take this Eclipse 400 as my core...

    it's really great...

    WONDERFUL designed and it's V-tail...

  • Eclipse 400 IS COOL

  • it looks well ugly but its quite a nice a/c

  • Tonneaux???? 0_o incredible awesome great great job and wonderful machine 5/5

  • It is the nicest jet that I have seen in my life

  • And You can roll it that is sooooooo cool

  • Cool shape

  • i like the eclipse 500 and i am glad they shook the elitist aircraft companies. But i don't think i can swallow this plane yet... looks like a piperjet with a brain tumor.

  • Wonder the benefits of not having winglets like the Cirrus 400 jet..

  • So they're marketing the ECJ? GOOD IDEA!!!

  • they can fly higher than many airliners, although slower. So they will likely be arond 40000 ft, above a lot of the domestic traffic.

  • that is if ATC allows it to interfere wit the path of much faster commercial aircraft (which in most cases will not be granted)

  • Will be curious to see if this kills TBM 850 sales. No Winglets? Curious to see how this competes with the Piper Jet and Cirrus. At 330kts I doubt if ATC will let it fly up high with the big boys. It will probably be forced to fly lower with the turbo props in which case the TBM 850 will kick its ass

  • why wouldnt they allow you???? file it and go

  • Sueño algún día con tener un jet como ese.
