Estimated friend, if you want to listen again this song and an endless number of successes of the love I suggest you to visit Radio MUSICA PARA MIMOS - looks for his direction URL in Google ( search Musica para Mimos in Google)-. best romantic music of all the times in Internet, is great, is very good ...!!!
"Black Rose" is a treasure. This song is stunning. I think JD has written some of the most beautiful ballads during his era (which still continues from the early 70s). Thank you for this beautiful post. How can we get some SHF band stuff on youtube?
BLACK ROSE would be 1 of my CDs I would take to a desert island if 10 were all I were aloud. Stanley Clark and JD on acoustic guitar w/ a touch of Peter Asher. Just too damn good!!
this is one of my aol time fav songs..it epitomizes the souther cal sound. souther/jackson browne et al. Beautiful song..."you took me thru and now were both too weak to stand. "you think your gonna live foerever and somehow find me there.."
J.D. has a way of cutting through the decades with his music. Totally timeless and the voice & music still sends chills right through to my soul. Great man, even Greater Singer & master songwriter. Will listen to his music & enjoy it till I am gone from this world. I would want his music played at my wake,to send me on to Heaven. Truly a great artist. A fan for 40 years, I will always love his music. I have all his records and cd's.
Thank you so much for bringing this song back to me. I have the album but no longer have a turntable. There have been times when I have played this song over and over and over and decided to go on living. Yes, yes, we once really were that young. Beautiful timeless song...

my tattoo, of a black rose, was inspired by this album, and by the death of my friend Phil.

Stanley Clarke plays such an expressive double bass on this tune, always a big fan of both Stanley and J.D. but this song...wow! So haunting....

This guy is such an amazing song writer that it baffles me that he's not a household name.
