I think both Hellboy 1 and Hellboy 2 are Full price movies. I have loved both of those movies! They have amazing action, special effects, and even add a lot of comedy into it. Also, they even use songs that you wouldn't expect. I give both Hellboy 1 and Hellboy 2 full prices since they are both of my favorite movies (Or at least some of mine) and I hope there will be a Hellboy 3 soon. :D

You have to watch the first Hellboy, to see why the 2nd is over the top. the first is an intro to everything with a typical boss, the 2nd movie out of a trilogy has the most action, the 3rd the most dramatic. It's obvious theres going to be a part 3.

Agreed! The sets and character design are AMAZING.... But you can get this from Pan's Labrynth which is ALSO a great movie overall.

So yeah, see it if you haven't, but don't get all hyped over it.

Honestly, I liked the first film better because it had a better plot and better character development. The second film had some truly excellent ideas, but really didn't deliver on them. The first movie had a more interesting story (could've done with a bit more action though) and almost a sort of Lovecraftian feel at some parts I though. So I like the second movie, but I believe the original is far superior.

It also had more likable characters and villians than the 2nd. luckily from what ive heard they are thinking about doing a third with Kroenen being back as the major villian which will be excellent if done right

Hellboy was a great film, both visually and vicerally, it took time to tell the story from seperate perspectives, villians and heroes, new guys and man-demons.

hellboy 2 was vissually a match, if not a little too strongly taken from pan's larberinth. the story was more cartoony. they retconed characters and developments from the superior previous film. however the villian was a total badass, written and visually.

two things stopped me from liking this movie one is they could have just melted the piece of the crown in the beginning and solved all their problems and two the whole telepathy between the elf prince and his sister made the movie fake as hell. becuz anything the tell the sister the prince should know like where she was and where the crown piece was. so yeah it did not make sense but overall great movie much better than the first.

the one problem i have with the hellboy franchise is that they crammed like 4 storylines in the first movie, plus unnesesary romantic elements and characters, and they basically just made up the storyline as they went along in the 2nd one.

The thing with Hellboy is that it has some depth and mythology to it, and also isn't afraid to use puppets, make up and CG together, which is really what all fantasy films should still be doing.
