I asked over and over about Lyme Disease and was told that this 63 year old woman did not fit the 'normal' patient for Lyme. I questioned over and over. She died 2 years after her Parkinson's diagnosis. Cause of death-multiple organ failure. Seeing this movie made me cry because she could have been saved. My gut was right. I know that now, thank you.

I worked for a physician that's an expert in Lyme Disease, Our office treated many patients with this illness and I had to write the insurance companies to get them to pay the patients claims because society & most doctors are saying this isn't a real disease, but it is. I'm sure they'll change their minds when their loved one or themselves is affilicted with it.

i had heard of if but was told since i wasn't from the US and had no rash the GP wouldn't test me. not even just in case.
when given lymecycline for acne, i was of 25-50% health perhaps, when i stopped, things crashed very badly, so this has led me to research it more and in effect i am telling and correcting my doctor.
So I guess the million dollar question is: How can I guarantee avoiding Lyme Disease (Borrelia) short of not wearing shorts and avoiding forest areas/camping?

@TezukaKohei Check yourself for ticks after going outside. Make sure to check absolutely everywhere and recruit a friend or family member to check your back if necessary. If you remove the tick shortly after it bites you it, is extremely unlikely you will be infected. According to Wikipedia "an infected tick must be attached for at least a day for transmission to occur." If you do not detect the tick in that time frame be very attentive to Lyme symptoms and get yourself to a doctor.
I'm so, so sad to see this. A sweet little boy I know has just been diagnosed. The doctors told him it was for attention, too, at first. What do they teach in medical school, anyway?

High levels of glucosomine sulphate have been VERY helpful for me. I can reduce the activity of the disease with what I assume is toxic to it. I can monitor the sulpher levels by the odor of my perspiration. Many sufferers have claimed that Chlorine dioxide treatments are tremendously beneficial. I have not tried it yet, but its more appealing when under a severe attack. I spent 2 wks once-standing exhausted, unable to sleep/lay/sit down fighting for each breath in agony. This is no joke.

In 2002 while working in my forested garden, I got 3 unusual looking big red spots with rings around them. Very itchy & painful...and THREE Dr.'s did NOT know what was wrong. Short version:::my health declined and I've been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and cannot get any relief. After seeing this video and reading about Lyme disease.....I am going to beg my Dr. to test me for Lyme disease. At least that is treatable..not like my Fibromyalgia.

at 4:20 is my cousin, i too have fought lyme most of my life, lucky to be able to fight it into remission, but one day it will return and strike me down
I truly feel for these people. I was misdiagnosed with lupus and it wasn't until I was close to death that my family doctor had had enough of the bs from the rheumatologists and began treating me for lyme. Anyone is suffering from this disease should definitely check out the Buhner protocol. It was the only thing that kept me alive, and I did it wrong the first time. With my doctor's help and doing the protocol correctly, within a few months I was able to walk again and feel almost normal.

I lost my son to lyme disease 11/26/2011. He first contacted it in 2002. It came back after surgery in August 2011. He was treated with antibiotics and it got worse. After realizing it got into his spine and brain they tried IV'S and heavy pain killers and anti depressants. Side effects could increase suicide but we were never warned. He eventually ended his life at home with no note or warning. He was the second person I lost the same way.
My dad is Jordan Fisher- Smith in the movie, Lyme disease drags everyone into it, family friends. I couldn't play with him when I was a little kid because he was so sick.The disease took away his job, his health, and my childhood with him.

@TheNemest Im a lyme victim- ive been (after 6 years total) diagnosed and had both the western blot test and I genetic come up positive and couldn't agree more with this comment. You have to pull people in because you have no where else to turn usually for a LONG time and it has no outlet so if your lucky you have or eventually have someone in your life who can help, even just a little. It is a horrible, horrible position to be in for many reasons.
I was mocked by bringing up the possibility that I may have lyme disease since I knew that I was bitten by several ticks while working outside. I took doxycycline as well. It helped a little but I still felt ill. So I took the natural route. It has helped tremedously. There are some essential oils like Oregano Oil that will destroy just about any microbe. Oxygen treatments, colloidial silver, grapefruit seed extract. There are many that are effective.
@wolf987123 I too did the abx then went the natural route and thats when a huge turn around happened and it is what has helped me to be where I am today with this awful disease.... I am 75% better then I was at my worst and I almost died from it!! I cant say enough about Colloidial silver its is something that really helps me!! along with many of the other things you mentioned :)
@EpicFailGirl - Colloidal silver has many very effective applications. Unfortunately its effective mechanisms/limitations are not understood very well by many of its advocates. It is used with little more effectiveness than a placebo or thrown chicken bones when not used within its useful properties.

Lyme seriously messed with my life. I went through hell for years not knowing what was wrong. Nothing is worse than this because of its insidious nature. Just like the guy with the bag of pill bottles, I've got thousands of dollars just in copays and lab work. I had lyme disease 2 years ago, took a three week course of antibiotics, amoxicillin i think, the doctor told me I was cured. I then went on to have mono and epstein bar virus, and then when I got through that and still didn't feel better my doctor told me I had depression and I should be on an anti-depressant. So I went and saw a therapist, and when I didn't get any better, she told me to go to a different doctor. Went to a different doctor he told me I still have lyme disease and epstein bar

Doxycycline led to me getting candidiasis. Sea salt helped the lyme big time, but permanent brain damage is done, and I still have the infection to some degree. I used to be the healthiest person I knew, always telling people of things like H202, Apple Cider Vinegar, Coconut Oil, etc. But lately life has been a nightmare. Sleeping and dreaming are the best parts of my day. I'm afraid of people these days, having had bad experiences with people not understanding, and it's just hard to talk.
Would never take antibiotics as they do not discriminate between good/bad bacteria leaving the immune system compromised further. Healthy bacteria defend your immune system and will never be at the same level as before antibiotics. Even probiotics to replenish the healthy bacteria can never bring back the full # of good bacteria. Antibiotics are a last resort and contribute to candida, which is a precursor to cancer. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do internet research on using sea salt for curing Lyme. I had it for seven months before I was diagnosed, and doxycycline only made me sicker. I took a shot of about 1/2 teaspoon of raw sea salt in a small amount of water, and in only hours I felt better than I had in months! I continued this maybe three times a day for several days and it ended my Lyme. I take this "shot" every now and then just to be sure it stays gone. IT WORKS. DO RESEARCH. TELL THE PEOPLE!!

To watch this video brings so many emotions to the surface. I got Lyme last year during my trip to Aruba. I too had no idea upon my return home ,but, one thing about me is I know my body. As soon as I touched down my feet were swollen and that had never happened in my life. I'm 36 years old, and I called my mom and told her what happened. My legs were also tight like I had arthritis.
It was very strange for me. For the next several weeks, more symptoms started coming on. I was scared and didn't know what was happening. My family and some of my friends were saying the SAME thing that all of you were hearing that it was in my head. I'm getting older now. Take aspirin and I'm paranoid.
WE ARE NOT PARANOID. I'M SO SICK OF PEOPLE TELLING US NOT TO LISTEN TO OUR BODIES. OUR BODIES KNOW! So, I immediately went to the doctor and told him about my trip and what my friend said and he told me he would give me other test but, "I don't think that's it. I really, really doubt that is it."
I pushed and persisted that he test me and he gave in. Then 2 more weeks passed and I'm calling him and calling and found out he went on freaking VACATION without giving me a diagnosis.I called his office, the assitant told me that the other blood test came back fine, but they hadn't recieved the Lyme back yet
I was DEVASTATED, because, I was getting worse and needed to know. Hours would past that day and when the Dr. called I could hear the shame in his voice when he had to tell me YES my test came back postive for LYME! I was so PISSED how nonchalant he was, but, just happy to know that it wasn't my imagination. He immediately prescribed me antibotics and I IMMEDIATELy changed doctors.
I am so THANKFUL that I learned of my diagnosis early. I AM so blessed, but after reading everyone's comments I'm going to go back to my current doctor to get some followup because my legs have still had some pain in them.

No not at all. That is not even where the debate began. SpiritShot claimed they are lazy and know basic things. In no way does your statement shoot down mine (They go to school for 7 years). doctors arent "lazy" but they dont do anything. they order tests that lab techs run. they look at the patient for a minute. the nurses and lab techs are who make the hospital experience.

These doctors are really pissing me off. Nowadays, doctors don't want to believe anything you tell them, they tell you it's all in your head. These doctors better start doing their research and listening to their patients.

My mother was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease in 2005. I knew it wasn't PD and researched other possibilities. It advanced too rapidly to be PD. I asked over and over about Lyme Disease and was told that this 63 year old woman did not fit the 'normal' patient for Lyme. I questioned over and over. She died 2 years after her Parkinson's diagnosis. Cause of death-multiple organ failure. Seeing this movie made me cry because she could have been saved. My gut was right. I know that now, thank you.

I worked for a physician that's an expert in Lyme Disease, Our office treated many patients with this illness and I had to write the insurance companies to get them to pay the patients claims because society & most doctors are saying this isn't a real disease, but it is. I'm sure they'll change their minds when their loved one or themselves is affilicted with it.

Lyme disease is a terrible, possibly deadly illness which has no cure, nor any effective treatment, UNLESS you are lucky enough to catch one of the 2 strains of borrelia against which normal antibiotics work.
there are over hundred strains of borrelia known by now, and many of those do not react to antibiotics. the most dangerous ones will destroy your inner organs and brain and ultimately cause death. given how many people have this: give us a cure!

8 years and i have some tests in a few weeks. will now search for a 'lyme literate' doctor.
i had heard of if but was told since i wasn't from the US and had no rash the GP wouldn't test me. not even just in case.
when given lymecycline for acne, i was of 25-50% health perhaps, when i stopped, things crashed very badly, so this has led me to research it more and in effect i am telling and correcting my doctor.

@TezukaKohei Check yourself for ticks after going outside. Make sure to check absolutely everywhere and recruit a friend or family member to check your back if necessary. If you remove the tick shortly after it bites you it, is extremely unlikely you will be infected. According to Wikipedia "an infected tick must be attached for at least a day for transmission to occur." If you do not detect the tick in that time frame be very attentive to Lyme symptoms and get yourself to a doctor.

High levels of glucosomine sulphate have been VERY helpful for me. I can reduce the activity of the disease with what I assume is toxic to it. I can monitor the sulpher levels by the odor of my perspiration. Many sufferers have claimed that Chlorine dioxide treatments are tremendously beneficial. I have not tried it yet, but its more appealing when under a severe attack. I spent 2 wks once-standing exhausted, unable to sleep/lay/sit down fighting for each breath in agony. This is no joke.

In 2002 while working in my forested garden, I got 3 unusual looking big red spots with rings around them. Very itchy & painful...and THREE Dr.'s did NOT know what was wrong. Short version:::my health declined and I've been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and cannot get any relief. I truly feel for these people. I was misdiagnosed with lupus and it wasn't until I was close to death that my family doctor had had enough of the bs from the rheumatologists and began treating me for lyme. Anyone is suffering from this disease should definitely check out the Buhner protocol. It was the only thing that kept me alive, and I did it wrong the first time. With my doctor's help and doing the protocol correctly, within a few months I was able to walk again and feel almost normal.

I lost my son to lyme disease 11/26/2011. He first contacted it in 2002. It came back after surgery in August 2011. He was treated with antibiotics and it got worse. After realizing it got into his spine and brain they tried IV'S and heavy pain killers and anti depressants. Side effects could increase suicide but we were never warned. He eventually ended his life at home with no note or warning. He was the second person I lost the same way.

My dad is Jordan Fisher- Smith in the movie, Lyme disease drags everyone into it, family friends. I couldn't play with him when I was a little kid because he was so sick.The disease took away his job, his health, and my childhood with him.

You have to pull people in because you have no where else to turn usually for a LONG time and it has no outlet so if your lucky you have or eventually have someone in your life who can help, even just a little. I was mocked by bringing up the possibility that I may have lyme disease since I knew that I was bitten by several ticks while working outside. I took doxycycline as well. It helped a little but I still felt ill. So I took the natural route. It has helped tremedously. There are some essential oils like Oregano Oil that will destroy just about any microbe. Oxygen treatments, colloidial silver, grapefruit seed extract. There are many that are effective.

It is used with little more effectiveness than a placebo or thrown chicken bones when not used within its useful properties.

THERE IS A CURE! i have been suffering with lyme disease my entire life. i was misdiagnosed many times, and my test came back negative at least 3 times for lyme. last year it got out of control and i was out of school for a while. the entire time i had very few people who offered support. people said i was faking it to get out of school. i started taking homepathic medicine, after being on doxyclycline (which made me worse). it took me about 7 months to get better. there is hope for everyone.

Lyme seriously messed with my life. I went through hell for years not knowing what was wrong. Nothing is worse than this because of its insidious nature. Just like the guy with the bag of pill bottles, I've got thousands of dollars just in copays and lab work. I had lyme disease 2 years ago, took a three week course of antibiotics, amoxicillin i think, the doctor told me I was cured. I then went on to have mono and epstein bar virus, and then when I got through that and still didn't feel better my doctor told me I had depression and I should be on an anti-depressant. So I went and saw a therapist, and when I didn't get any better, she told me to go to a different doctor. Went to a different doctor he told me I still have lyme disease and epstein bar

Can someone who has experience with lyme tell me what symptoms they first had and how long they took to appear and come on after the bite? It seems a little vague and it would be good to see what others have personally experienced.
I got bitten by 6 ticks last week, and now have a kind of face/headache and nausea. i have no rash but i realize doesn't always appear. Hopefully it isn't anything but i want to be sure.

the government has manufactured these diseases. Is it any wonder that the doctors don't know what the fuck they are treating? It is likely that they are more clueless than the afflicted patients themselves. The secret world government's aim is to decrease the global population below 1 billion people. Do you think they would care about little joe public suffering from a mess of a disease involving engineered bacteria and autoimmune responses? Until the government is destroyed they won't be cured

Doxycycline led to me getting candidiasis. Sea salt helped the lyme big time, but permanent brain damage is done, and I still have the infection to some degree. I used to be the healthiest person I knew, always telling people of things like H202, Apple Cider Vinegar, Coconut Oil, etc. But lately life has been a nightmare. Sleeping and dreaming are the best parts of my day. I'm afraid of people these days, having had bad experiences with people not understanding, and it's just hard to talk.

Would never take antibiotics as they do not discriminate between good/bad bacteria leaving the immune system compromised further. Healthy bacteria defend your immune system and will never be at the same level as before antibiotics. Even probiotics to replenish the healthy bacteria can never bring back the full # of good bacteria. Antibiotics are a last resort and contribute to candida, which is a precursor to cancer. Candida is fed by an acidic diet, including drugs, which are highly acidic.

It only takes a few minutes to watch . I REALLY WISH those with MS , all types of cancer , Alzheimers, Fibro, CFS, ALS, and especially parents of Autistic children would become more aware of the undeniable connections.
Autism is gaining much awareness but why aren't they aware of this as a (most) likely cause ? More frustrating than you can imagine .

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do internet research on using sea salt for curing Lyme. I had it for seven months before I was diagnosed, and doxycycline only made me sicker. I took a shot of about 1/2 teaspoon of raw sea salt in a small amount of water, and in only hours I felt better than I had in months! I continued this maybe three times a day for several days and it ended my Lyme. I take this "shot" every now and then just to be sure it stays gone. IT WORKS. DO RESEARCH. TELL THE PEOPLE!!

To watch this video brings so many emotions to the surface. I got Lyme last year during my trip to Aruba. I too had no idea upon my return home ,but, one thing about me is I know my body. As soon as I touched down my feet were swollen and that had never happened in my life. I'm 36 years old, and I called my mom and told her what happened. My legs were also tight like I had arthritis.

It was very strange for me. For the next several weeks, more symptoms started coming on. I was scared and didn't know what was happening. My family and some of my friends were saying the SAME thing that all of you were hearing that it was in my head. I'm getting older now. Take aspirin and I'm paranoid.

3 more weeks would pass with me being in pain and trying everything I could, and one day because of one of my friends that was TRULY listening that I will call my GUARDIAN ANGEL called me and told me that her friend just came back from Aruba and she had Lyme and did I get tested. So, I immediately went to the doctor and told him about my trip and what my friend said and he told me he would give me other test but, "I don't think that's it. I really, really doubt that is it."

I pushed and persisted that he test me and he gave in. Then 2 more weeks passed and I'm calling him and calling and found out he went on freaking VACATION without giving me a diagnosis.I called his office, the assitant told me that the other blood test came back fine, but they hadn't recieved the Lyme back yet

I was DEVASTATED, because, I was getting worse and needed to know. Hours would past that day and when the Dr. called I could hear the shame in his voice when he had to tell me YES my test came back postive for LYME! I was so PISSED how nonchalant he was, but, just happy to know that it wasn't my imagination. He immediately prescribed me antibotics and I IMMEDIATELy changed doctors.

I am so THANKFUL that I learned of my diagnosis early. I AM so blessed, but after reading everyone's comments I'm going to go back to my current doctor to get some followup because my legs have still had some pain in them.

I DO want to tell everyone who is suffering that you are in my prayers and one thing that I did while I was waiting for my diagnosis is I started drinking this tea a friend told me about called God's Herbal Blessing and I truly believe that it slowed my process down. Look it up. This is true, I was drinking this in between time until I got my results and I do feel it help. I just want to say I'm glad that there is light being shined on this disease.

My doctor had to look it up on the internet and he did it in front of me. And most states don't really recognize it in the West (I live in California) because it's considered an East Coast disease. At least that's what one of my doctors told me. God Bless!

Of course they keep learning throughout their years as a doctor. They gain experience everyday. Calling a doctor lazy is the most ignorant thing I have ever heard.

doctors arent "lazy" but they dont do anything. they order tests that lab techs run. they look at the patient for a minute. the nurses and lab techs are who make the hospital experience.
