  • It brings back memories of growing up in Auckland in the 70s and 80s

  • Haha my dad looks different now (Andrew Fagan) !!!

  • @PurePwnageification Does he still wear eye liner?

  • @MsNurse111 Hahaha noo he gave that up a while ago :P

  • Love it, love it.

  • Shame the Drummer died so young , thought these guys were one of New Zealands better bands back then, loved there music

  • @howbetty22 Steve Thorpe killed himself, never knew why. Never knew why Andrew or the media ever mention him either? Behind closed doors, what lurks huh?

  • @MrSugarpie24 , didnt Steve just go through a break up.

and i think he'd gassed himself in his car.. i think.

but that was such a long time ago

  • @lonelykiwi I know but my point was that no-one talks about him or mentions his contribution. We get blasted when Howard Morrison or Pauly What's-his-name(sorry can't pronounce it) dies but Steve Thorpe was just as relevant back then. Selective judgement, that's what it is

  • @AceHermes Yes, agreed, some get way more attention here, than others yes.

it is a shame that its like that.

one thing i hate about living here. some get more recognition than others. Doesn't seem right

  • My band TetraSalute (search us) are doing a cover of this song atm. Sped it up a little, changed the key :)

    All girl rock band.

  • This is funny as, I remember these guys coming to our high school, 5th form maybe!! A few of us girls managed to corner the poor dude after the show and remember being so heart broken the wank wouldn't even talk to us!!! gutted...lol...Cool song :-)

  • Yeah, they did most high schools.. in about 1985?

  • haha cool man love it

  • someone should do a kiwi old school hits album, you could have all the kiwi songs from the 70s, 80s and on the cover a picture of jandals, the real kind you could only buy from Para Rubber, with the rainbow warrior in the background, and a couple of kiwis wearing swannies and gumboots ye ha

  • Andrew Fagan was the coolest singer in NZ music of all time IMO. Great tone with an everyman voice and nice lyrical sensibility and ear for a catchy yet trippy pop hook! :) This one gets my vote for NZ's best ever single release!!

  • Someone do should do a deathmetal version of this song, it would rule.

  • pleeeezzzzz no......................... :(

  • Great Idea, it would rule....

  • Andrew Fagan rocked!!just love this song so many good memories!..the crazy hairstyles, clothes and makeup lol ya gotta love the 80s..pity they dont make great music like that these days

  • duz ne1 hav da lricz 4 dis song?

if so dn plz copy nd paste n dis video.

    thnx =)

  • Mashallah. Excellent. Brought back a tonne of memories.

  • Lol, I remember them coming to my school over 20 years ago and performing. Broke a guitar string while there, so Andrew Fagan sat and recited some of his poetry while it was being fixed.

  • hes my dad!

  • Has anyone got the first Video Swear it's True?

Brings back memories of a mis-spent youth at Penrose High having 5th form girls chase me as I'd done "Woke up Today" on stage with some other 7th form mates.

  • Reminds of my bro in-law...he wants this at his funeral!.

  • That's kinda amusing mate, I would have Swear it's True if anyone has it post it!

  • this brings back precious memories, something that will live with me for the rest of my life, thank god I am a Kiwi

  • someone should post one black friday! pleaaassseee.

Thanx for add, might like a band from the U.S. called The Tranzmitors and I do a punk etc show in wellington nz on 88.5 MUNTFM(check website) Wed's 5-7PM if like a bit of this kinda stuff and beyond....always new and exciting.

  • good song

  • Brings back much laughter and memories. There is a video lost somewhere deep in the TVNZ archives, a Radio With Pictures what is now 23 years ago. Two teenagers dancing in the first row, totally oblivious. And that was us!! Love to track that again ...

    Oh how time passes...

  • absolutely love it! yay, for New Zealand. proud to be a kiwi

  • By jingo's, haven't seen this clip in yonks...:D
