I remembered having this on VHS as a kid. Who knew something that came out of a $1.00 basket from Thifty's (kind of showing my age now. Hahaha!) could bring back such wonderful memories to the point where I'm choking up inside by how wonderful such discovery was made!

However, just to let everyone know, this is the edited version as the original version had a live sequence with the original Mr. Ranger telling this story to his niece and nephew in by the fireplace in the opening and closing credits. You cartoon fans may not know this, but Jean Vander Pyl (who played Wilma Flintstone and Rosie The Robot on "The Jetsons") plays the mother bear. You'll recognize the voice if you have never watched this.

I remember that! That's what I came here to see -- in particular I remember a shot of a Christmas tree with a little old-fashioned toy car rolling along, lit by firelight -- or at least that's how I remember it from 30 years ago . . . would really love to see that part again.

Thanks so much for posting this!!! My sister and I have been looking for this for years- and finally here it is on You Tube! FYI- just this past Christmas we also found the dvd at Walgreens of all places. It was in one of those piles of cheap miscellaneous holiday dvd's- and it had several other cartoons included on the dvd- and only cost a few dollars! We couldn't believe it- we were looking for it for so long and would have paid any price for it- and then we go and find it by accident!!

I used to have this on tape. I believe GoodTimes Home Entertainment was the distributor of the videotape. By the way, according to both the Big Cartoon Database and the Internet Movie Database, this film was originally released to theaters on Saturday November 7, 1970. I had no idea the film is nearly 40 years old. A true Christmas classic.
