Because you cant put the belt Cro Cop won in the open weight the same as the one Rickson won. Big difference, one fought ranked opponents while the other fought cans.

I also have to address your bias here. When Rickson fought for PRIDE it was the beginning of the organization. So there was Rickson and Pro Wrestlers who were trying to make the transition to MMA. He beat a couple of Circus acts and won the belt. However the importance here is who he beat to win the belt, and that's what matters. Because you cant put the belt Cro Cop won in the open weight the same as the one Rickson won. Big difference, one fought ranked opponents while the other fought cans.

His jiu jitsu skills are undeniable, him and Roger are two of the best students to come out of the Gracie academy, however you forget that when Rickson was submitting people hardly anyone knew what jiu jitsu was. As far as MMA goes you just have to look who he beat, he beat CANS like TAKADA for instance. Remmeber even Royce was successful before because of the lack of skills years ago.
