yes i am a 13 year old girl and i am growing up in the wrong decade.! I am a true hippy at heart my parent both agree i must have grown up in the 60s in a past life or someting=] our generation today is ruining this world all this violence is going down and ppl just cant plain trust ea other anymore i honestly believethe future would be better off without our generation we need to start spreading the love., what happened to those good ole pacifists.? xD
To everyone who thinks they're the young one all alone liking old music; you're not at all alone, and it's not about age, it's maturity and appreciation. Good stuff is always good stuff. Understand this and you'll get a big head start.
I was a kid, I remember the great tunes playing in the school bus on the way home. Thats what stands out oh...and from our little "transistor radio's"! You were cool if you had the hot am rock station playing from that, lol....thats funny.
thats not true this music is classical shit and even if you think it got old, its not forgotten bcuz california dreaming was made into a great techno remix many actually and yes i agree with u that the beatles wont ever get old but this is good music too
these songs bring me memories of my parents, recording tapes....and the pictures of them with those clothes haha, beautiful decade to music...i´m from the 80´s, the worst musical period ever haha
can anybody help me out with a song name? i cant exactly put the lyrics into my head, but the song is about a man losing his girlfriend in a car crash and he says something about praying to the lord... its not much info, but can anyone help?
@rickitan89 Hello, could the song by "Honey" or "Honey I Miss You". It's worth a try. A very sentimental song and loving about a man missing his wife or girlfriend.
"if you can remember the 60s you weren't there"...that may be true for some. Me I remember the 60s and i was there...I was sober...had to be. You had to know exactly what you were doing and where you were going. You might get lynched. Had to be careful which restroom you went into, which water fountain you drank from, who you looked at, what building you tried to go into, what school you tried to attend. No some of us had to be VERY sober. It was a sobering time
Yes, sir. Your probably right. The 60's were good and bad. Although I personally can't "relate" on your level I did see what you mean. No excuses. I hope things have gotten better for you. But, it was the "music" that defined a lot of the decade for me.
No doubt the 60s were the best decade for music....Motown, Stax Volt, The British Invasion, Woodstock, Monterey Pop, Blue Note Records, Avante Garde Jazz...the Beatles, The Stones, Cream, The Who, James Brown, Otis Redding, Aretha, Hendrix, Coltrane, Eric Dolphy, Miles Davis, Zappa and The Mothers, Curtis Mayfield and The Impressions...there's been no better decade for music period
sonwamac you gotta nice range of talent on that list. I don't know if you agree or not ??? But I just don't hear the soul in the music today. I sure hope the kids aren't missing out on what music can do, and mean to a person through out there lives, like it has mine.
The corporations took over the radio stations and they don't want anything but what will lead folks to buy more of their stupid ass products. You don't have DJs anymore you have "on air personalities" who can't decide what songs they will play...that is decided for them and the music is piped in from some other central location. In the 60s you had DJs who could break a song that they though was worthy by an artist you hadn't heard of yet (Sly Stone helped break HIMSELF). We don't have that now
Lucky, the 60's was the best of both worlds. It still had the feel of the prosperous 50's yet it was experiencing all the great music of the counterculture and blooming of rock n' roll as a form of art that the 50's never experienced. The 70's were too dark and uncertain, though I still would've enjoyed them, and of course the 80's and beyond are just completely different.
@lthpd . I disagree. I believe the 50's was the best decade. The 60's was a time of civil unrest and it's when true change happened to everyone. People started treating others with major disrespect and from then on, it's gotten worse and worse.
