  • Testing definition with the right game on the wrong console, get a PlayStation 3..

  • it doesnt matter because youtube chops the quality anyway, if you have your computer hooked up to a tv with an hdmi cord you can really see it

  • What correct me if I'm wrong but this is just from a little Black Magic video recorder? :O

  • I see only 720p and dont 1080i

  • @PspCFWGamer Its captured at 1080i (The cards max capture settings), deinterlaced and resized it to 720p for Youtube. I could have deinterlaced it to 1080p but the quality is not nearly that of real sourced 1080p content so it is better and more efficient to resize to 720.

Youtube does not accept interlaced video without it being converted by youtube's server to a progressive 720 or 1080.

  • @Tesseract91 does it need to be connected to your computer?

  • can you just simply plug in the HD cables from your xbox 360 and your composite like me if you dont have an HD tv?

  • Is that the h.246 version? For mac

  • Can i play in HD while recording on this?

  • this awesome level of quality only for $199? Intense!

  • @seegerts15 only...

  • jst 1080i? the Blackmagic Design device doesnt record in 1080p?

  • @TheRmiBoys it does both

  • what's the difference between 1080p and 1080i on xbox 360? please answer! Because I have a 1080 p full hd television at home and when I play gta IV on it in 1080p, the shadow is really weird and it's not THAT sharp at all.. thanks if you answer!

  • 1080 means 1080 lines of horizontal resolution. The "i" means interlaced where two fields are interlaced together to form one image and the "p" mean progressive where one frame is drawn all at once. Progressive is much better quality, consider using HDMI if you are only using component. The Blackmagic can only capture a max of 1080i which is what this source is. If you need an answer that badly consider using Google or Wikipedia next time as it is much faster and more indepth.

  • does it use windows or mac?? and how much was it

  • ok i have a couple of questions...

    1. are you using a laptop screen or a desktop screen?

    2. how much was the blackmagic?

    3. is this an actual card or is it a usb drive with hd cables connected to it?

  • I seriously can't believe this isn't fraps! It is indeed good for a video capture card, as most of them have a blurred, crappy output.

  • Hello.

What model of Blackmagic Design you have?

This is a good quality image. There product are very good.

  • It's an Intensity Pro. I was surprised with how good the image quality was as well, especially for component source and only a $200 card.

  • Exactly. I want to buy a capture card and i found the Blackmagic and come here to see how it work and the quality is awsome.

  • Thats what I did too, you wont be disappointed, however just remember that if you want to record really high resolution you'll need a very fast hard drive.

I'm running two Seagate 500GB 7200.12 in raid 0 get around 200MB/s which allows me to record 1080i at about 40fps i think. I you'll just be doing Standard def pretty much any hard drive will be fine though.

As well be mindful of hard drive space unless you want to compress it on the fly, uncompressed this 42 second video was 6GB
