This is season 8 episode called "Infamous". Clark tells Lois because Linda Lake (Tori Spelling) threatens to expose him in her column, so he wants to beat her to the punch. But once he's famous, everything goes wrong, so he uses the Legion ring to go back in time and stop Linda from writing the story to begin with. When he goes back to before he told Lois, he doesn't tell her again, thus erasing this moment forever.

@Stonymypony Yes he told her in this episode but when she wrote his story about being the "Red-Blue Blur", Linda Lake came back and ruined it because she's a crazy bitch. So the government is after Clark so he decides to use the Legion Ring to go back in time so Lois forgets about this & he doesn't reveal it to her.

Lois truly found out during season 9 episode 21 Salvation through a kiss. It is until season 10 episode 5 Isis he tells her but she already knew.
