There is nothing more. "come in handy" is referring to the videos you can store on it. Period. Nothing else. I don't think someone like Steve Jobs will say something like "something I'm about to show you" and not explain what is within the next 10, 15 minutes.

Apple has released a new application called iRemote, which allows you to control your Apple TV from your iPhone or iPod Touch. I don't think that takes up lots of memory though...

Man Apple TV is good yet is still a work work in progress my next guess is having an actual turner like the eyeTV like elGato products.

Sure, the hard drive will store videos and sure you'll get videos through iTunes onto iPhone. But that is a funny quote for him to say. The AppleTV's hard drive will "come in handy" for iPhone. I think there is something more in the cards, here.

the harddrive is handy to story videos on it, so that you don't always have to have your mac on. you will supply the iPhone over iTunes just as with your iPod or aTV.

i can easily imagine the possibilities, my slingbox is doing this with my smartphone for more than a year already... just like iriver did the HD Mp3 player a year before apple....
