I agree, it really is. And it's not just how the level is laid out for the game sounds to sync with the medley, but the level itself is designed to almost honor and pay homage to each song. Song sections are more obvious then others in this aspect. Very complex.

What do you think about more (commonly) western Automatic Mario's involving custom levels with more creativity and less organization then (mostly) eastern counter parts?

I sorta only really share my stuff with close friends. But there are examples here on youtube. The non Nico-Nico/MAD ones usually exhibit more of this. I could dig one up if you can't find any.

There's a -lot- of these on YouTube, all made with a program called "Lunar Magic" that you can use to completely remake a Super Mario World ROM.

Customize levels, alter the world map, import graphics and music from other games...you name it.
