it's not too bad live. for me i feel the sound is a bit weak though cause of the small body.. i like fuller sounds.. but the electronics are nice in it.. um i guess you can jjust try acoustic amps.. i use an "acoustic 15" it's not too bad but there definatley are better ones

there are alot of options out there that offer a full sound. the apx 500 doesn't offer it basically it's because it is a thin body guitar and that it's kindof a GA shape.. so for 500 as a limit its pretty good considering i got this for 300 US. i havn't tried many other brands of guitar. but yamaha does offer decent sound. i would go with a full body dreadnought guitar. as for brands, sound, playability, it's all youu to deciede. get a bit farther on, try a taylor lol. but thats like 2k 4 agood1
