  • he's second Yepes? :-D Great playing! Very nice :) congratulations :)

  • Far too fast playing!!Needs a bit brake!

  • If you are demonstrating classcial guitar performance, 4 out of 5, not bad. If you are demonstrating how fast you can play tremelo, 4 out of 5, not even enough. If you are performing Alhambra, this is a classic way of demonstrating how to "murder" a piece of music. 1 out of 5 for no mistake.

  • ll___ THE SPEED IS THE ENEMY OF EMOTION ___ll

  • Dude, Slow it down. Speed means nothing, its better to play it slow and clean and feeling, than fast and sloppy.

  • @BrennanFace 5 stars for the comment.

  • slower slower slower =)

  • muy rapido no?

  • we're closing in 3 minutes kid, better be done if you don't wanna play in the dark

  • wow nice tremolo.

  • wow :0

  • Live from the Yepes Fan-Club. But not realy as cool as the original!

  • why do cameramen film what we dont want to see.. !!! I want to see the fingers, not the theatre !

  • Hmm, 10-string...he's must have a "pair" to use it in concert. He plays well, but like me, he hasn't nailed the tremolo down...it needs to be steady and flowing, it's the backdrop to the piece. His "speedy" playing could just be that he was just practicing, not necessarily his normal playing speed...but who knows. Overall, he sounds good, hardly a buzz on the frets.

  • The problem is not speed. The problem is that the tremolo is a bit uneven.

  • I find it kinda out of tune, is it only me? and pretty fast too

  • es un quiero y no puedo, el tremolo parece un caballito pero a pesar de eso me encanta esta obra. A disfrutar!

  • Thanks for dharing whit all us you art, master.

La Alahambra de Granada, cuyos recuerdos me traen el aroma y el calor de los besos del verano.

    An spanish "cantaor".

  • isn't it too fast?

  • So you think? I don't think so.

What kind of music do you play with your Guitar?

  • I play Classic music

  • Piano?...

  • no...GUITAR

  • Yes, I agree: it's way too fast for this piece.

  • fast? try out the yepes narciso's version than u can really know the definition of fast.

  • It is really at the discretion of the artist, whoever is playing it... personally, i used to play this piece a lil slower, but then it gets harder because its easier to hear the little mistakes and then with the tremolo, i think its a little harder to do it faster... so, yea... it really just depends on who is listening...

  • @shabi4353 right it's faster than the original

  • @shabi4353 That is actually pretty darned fast for this particular piece.

  • quiero decir estilo Yepes XD

  • This guy should be shot

  • This is way too fast and i have to agree its 'hurry-up and finish' thing without any serious empathy... This is why I think Yepes' version is the best because of its beauty when I hear that.

  • The tremolo technique sounds beautiful. There is so much depth to this song.

  • too fast for my taste. still prtty good none the less

  • what is name of guitar ,please ?

what is type of guitare ?

  • Call me old-fashioned but I like the version with three beats in EVERY bar.

  • this is trash

  • chino pajero, la tocas muy rapido

  • Pajero? Que quereis decir?

  • This is the Alhambra ,hurry-up and finish with your Guitar ,we are closing in 2 minutes.

  • I thought i heart Eliot Fisk on a really bad day!

  • he was Naricso Yepes discipleship

  • kiyosi shomura 35years ago

  • dude, did someone plant a bomb and left it to expload after 3 mins? damn your are way to fast!

  • ha ha ha

    thank you

  • buena técnica!...aunque concuerdo con los otros: la tocas algo apresurada, bájale al "tempo"

  • Way too fast..

  • Good Job. You have incredible speed and accuracy!

  • slow down.

  • slow down.

  • A esa velocidad solo a Yepes le sale con claridad, expresividad y dulzura...

De todas maneras es un buen guitarrista y superara sus versiones en el tiempo

  • Is this serious?

  • give him a break. prolly student recital,

  • What an appalling waste of effort.

  • Very nice technique...Way too fast to be enjoyable but he's very skilled.

  • why rush this song? i dont get this at all

  • This is the tempo when a vocalist would sing the melody, I like it, and Yepes too ....

  • no it's not.

  • I'm just gunna say it, sounds like Sh*t. Way too fast, lost all tenderness of this piece

  • Completely agree

  • Wow. All the far east guys just seem to want to go fast like crazy. The more notes the better. Sounds like guitar meets knitting machine if you ask me.

  • Que espanto de interpretación.

que se dedique a otrs cosa!!!

  • Solid technique. And that's all.

  • It is not actually that technically difficult to play this fast like he does here but it just shows he has no understanding how to interpret and make this piece sound really beautiful. He has the technical ability to play the notes 'fast' but nothing else.

  • This is what happens when robots take over.

    He's even faster than Yepes!

  • Technically bizzare, musically sterile, totally sterile...

What on earth message did he think the music was trying to portray? Because playing it in the style of someone gargling salt water really is a travesty....

  • wow, he plays fast as the bitch!

  • Jeez guys I believe he was just pracicing.. Hence the lack of applause at the end of the video, perhaps? :)

  • sounds rushed=[

  • Written with tmpo guide as Andante by Tarrega. This is Presto with extra sauce. All technique no soul.

  • too fast.

    normaly it's romantic...

  • WTF?!

    WHAT the feeling is that!!

REcuerdos de la alhambra.... listen pepe romero plsss.!

  • Pepe is too slow, goin' to sleep?

  • you can feel the emotion

  • WOW you weren't kidding, just listened to Romero's version--very deep sounding compared to this wanker.

  • I like Recuerdos de la Alhambra so much but this is Races de la Alhambra. No feeling.

  • it is tooooooooo fast but u r good palyer

  • it´s too fast and no feeling, like a robot that was programmed false...

  • It's too fast.. Oo'

  • Maybe he was tresapssing! That guitar would sound beautful in the right room. Although he only used half of the fret board!

  • wow, i bet he´s a premature ejaculator... harhar...

  • Yes I wonder why so fast. Take a lesson from singers. Imagine someone gets up and sings and sounds like they're calling a horse race. Trying to sing the most words in a second possible. It would sound pretty silly. Same with any instrument I think. You lose the notes.

  • Agreed, this is a tiny bit fast. But take the same argument. IF a singer were to sing the melodic line (or a violinist play it), not as a tremolo (obviously) but as sustained notes, then the tempo would be nearly this fast, or it would drag too much. So yes, guitarists can learn something about an appropriate tempo from singers!

  • In other words, though this is only slightly too fast, with not quite enough rubato and attention to phrasing and dynamics, it still is a better tempo than that of most guitarists, which is much too slow to allow the melodic line to really sing. Listen to Yepes for this one: perfect tempo.

  • see what happens when you support Iron maiden

  • no, no, no. this is wrong. not good at all..this is not meant to be played like this. the dude is fast.

  • very bad

  • this is his interpretation... he can play it however he wants.

i too think its too freagin fast... but boi would i like to be able to do that sh*t!!

  • mmm... si me halas mas despacio, tal vez te entienda mejor.

  • didn't like it at all, scratchy, no tempo, and didn't feel anything while i was listening, as oppossed with yepes's version

  • i think that's was very awful too. I must say his has got an incredible speed, but it sounds very scratchy, sometimes he mistakely plays the other strings, no tempo, and lack of dynamics. I must say i cant play tremolo that fast, but that piece isn't about speed, it's about being played very beautiful. If u guys wanna know what i mean, listen to yepes version, when u listen to it, u actually feel something, with this guy u feel he has to work a little bit more on it...

  • What a race...

  • Hey, way too slow ! Lol.

  • Wow, a Japanese Yepes Impersonator!! This is not Narciso Yepes Dude, change the title to your video. On another note, this fellow should quit caffeine. The Alhambra is a peaceful palace full of soothing fountains... not a racetrack.

  • ok, I accept tomatos for this isn't Yepes. but I still stand for the other things I've said, concerning the comments...

  • and " mpare23 (2 weeks ago)

thats awful" ok, no problem, but things like that can't be said unless we truly know who's speaking, so that we can tell if you know what you're saying cause, whether not, it will look like a frantic rolling stone journalist wannabe. =P

  • at least, show a little more respect for this, Narciso Yepes, is one of the most important guitarrist in the history of this instrument. and also, this place here is for commenting the videos, not for throwing tomatos. just say what you think, and avoid cursing, for god's sake. all people can see here is cursing and stupid opinions like "charlieboi1990 (1 week ago)

    :/

its waaaay 2 fast... u gta slow it down dude... but well dun 4 getin it right tho :D",

  • :/

its waaaay 2 fast... u gta slow it down dude... but well dun 4 getin it right tho :D

  • thats awful

  • Just wanted to point out that the young Japanese gentleman in this clip is NOT Narciso Yepes.

This clip is from 2001, Yepes died in 1997.

  • indeed he plays a little bit fast!!!

  • Naricso Yepes ALWAYS plays too fast, just like in the Concierto De Aranjuez.

  • too fast, that piece is more beautiful at a slower tempo,he destroyed the piece

  • i thought this was this original speed tarrega wrote it to be played? can anyone verify this?

  • The magics of this song is not to be played this fast. Slower is more difficult, but beautiful.

  • SLOW DOWN!

    God he just ruins it...

  • You are just saying that cuz you cant play it that fast!

  • neither can this guy! There are dozens of unintended open strings. And his nails click more than a pinball machine. You have no ears if you can't discern these fatal speed-related flaws.

And by the way, did you happen to notice that he comes to almost an abrupt halt for no reason other than to prevent losing it numerous times? There's no tempo. Notice the bouncing first finger towards the end of the piece?! Tarrega would've thrown a tomato at him.

  • to fast and no feeling for the music.

  • I can't stand this guy, everything i've seen him play employs nothing beyond the normal six strings. What the hell? And he plays this piece robotically at 20bpm too fast.

  • Seem to me kid has burned out ..heeheheheheeee that the crap Alambra is that LOL

  • Ye I saw once somethink like that Karate BrusLee movie.. LOL

  • Yes, this is astounding, and it makes me wonder just how many people are capable of playing like this. It certainly isnt perfect, though that pedal point acheived with Media, Anular, and his pinky is great, too. And I just noticed that he's playing a guitar sitting on a piano bench... Odd. XD.

  • Orrendo...troppo veloce, senza interpretazione...bleach!

  • yeah, you are all right, i was thinkin that everybody was telling things imitating the other ones, but this is really fast and annoying

  • Tell that guy to slow down, WAY down there's absolutely no emotion in blinding speed like that. Sheesh

  • I hope he doesnt play as fast in the concert - no need...

    Perhaps he's just practicing...

But truly amazing, such great technique

  • well, the "10 guitar string" aports NOTHING I´m so sorry

  • yet again proving asians have no soul

  • I'm seconding this.

  • tarrega speedway... slow that down bud... let us enjoy it.

  • thats crazy fast

  • I'm trying to learn the tremolo technique

  • Perfect Speed for the numbero 1.

  • It is really saddening for some to play it too fast. As far as I know this is not Tarrega's required speed for this song. Narciso Yepes also plays this song fast. Technically great but not heartfelt. Like Michaelangelo Batio to Eric Clapton.

  • he's oriental...another planet LOL

  • Terrible.

  • listen to yepes and then you tell me, how fast this guy is. Yepes is 30% faster than the regular song.

  • I agree with you, Yepes is also fast, but he has a perfect tremolo, this tremolo is mostly deficient at this speed.

  • he will season, for a college? recital this is way above average. Yes it it to fast, which prevents him from plying it the way he hears it;

  • WAY too fast

  • wow! who's chasing this guy? this one really ought to be called 'recuerdos de la INDI 500!'

  • Yeah, I definitely agree with that.

  • This is technically stunning, but I think it is played about 30% too fast. Pepe's speed is more appropriate, in my opinion. Does anyone agree?
