XD Too bad. I'm ripping on the dub because it's bad. I mean, in Hetalia it O.K. that the dub is bad, that show is a PARODY, but Clannad is a TRAGEDY, I don't want to hear awful dubbing when @^@#$@# happens. I want it to be sad, not stupid. Just saying! You don't have to agree, I just hope that people will try the sub becuase you shouldn't knock it 'til you try it.

The dub is bad... Tomoya and Nagisa's voice are the only ones that pass for real in my opinion. everyone else's voice is messed up...but Sunohara's voice KILLED it to me...dubbed was watchable before i heard he's voice...he sounds like a child, and that totally kills he's character..making him look like a victim of bulling instead of a troubled youth who gets into fights. and Tomoyo's eng voice is cocky and a bit rude, where as in subed it was soft sweet and kind..killing her character as well.

@REDSAMURAI307 I admit that Sunohara's voice actor could've done better, particularly in the first 'Sunohara's room' scene, that 'Hey, you there, looking stupid' line was kinda unnecessary, during the second 'Tomoyo pwns Sunohara' scene, Kotomi just doesn't sound nearly as spaced out as she should, and they continually mispronounced Ryou's name. (They called her "Rou" in the first season, and -if the "Kyou After" was any indication-"You" {pronounced like "Yoh"} in After Story)

@SnowingWolfGirl it wouldn't if you saw subbed first..i mean, if you don't know what the characters sound like from subed, you don't know what to base it off of and don't see anything wrong. just try the subs and you'll enjoy the show a lot more...not knocking dubs, but in this case it just comes down to quality of acting..and subed wins in this area by landfall. :))

The dub is plenty good at showing both the goofiness and the sincerity involved in the comedy and drama, but misses a lot of the undertones particularly in the 'stranger' (I use this in slight understatement) comedy portions. See the "Onii-chan" scene, or ones similar to it, in the subbed version for what I mean.

All that... and Suzuhara sounds less annoying in Japanese.

@EPICmaddy I prefer the subs of Clannad, but I really didn't mind the dubbed that much, it definitely had some hammy lines in the first season, but it was never that bad. Greg Ayres makes for an awesome Sunohara imo, and for the most part everyone improves during After Story. It's certainly not without its flaws but compared to all the other dubs out there it's definitely not that bad.

@nejixdragon I usually prefer dubs, but the first episode turned me off for this one. The voice acting wasn't bad so much as the translation was ridiculous (saying "anpan" in an English sentence is just stupid, for example). This scene has a much better translation and thus pleased me more.
