in Ireland "no religon" is the second biggest faith group behind catholics in the latest census and it is rising. Most catholics in Ireland are not fanatics by any means any many have lost interest but still consider themselves catholic.
first, the three countries she showed on her wipescreen wera non consistent with each other, second, they tried to opinionize and ridicule the researchers wi the las comment about prophets being only good for idiots and children,,,but what is religion full of? Prophets! You can keep you religion toys, and play with them at home, just don't try to tell me that there is only one toy, and that i have to play with it.
So I do think that eventually, the percentage of believers will be substantially less. Complete extinction is doubtful, there are still practicing druids in Britain afterall, but their numbers will be less.
Eventually western civilization will lose it's religious population is decreasing, but I doubt it will go that fast. Though non believers are growing in number there is also the factor that people are also becoming less religious in the sense that they start to doubt sections of their faith but keep believing in it's core believe. An example of this is that there are Christians that don't believe that it is a sin to be gay.
This is nonsense, I come from New Zealand and religion is alive and well. In the seventies social scientists said the same and were embarrassed by 1978.
I see this happening now. Everytime I see a video on religion and nonbelievers, if religion is bashed, you see more likes than dislikes, and the opposite happens when nonbelievers are bashed. I can tell there are many closeted nonbelievers, probably because they don't want to hurt their families. Besides, Science is taking big strides and will do so in the future, There is hope for humanity.
I feel it to be perfectly feasible. It seems we view the movement of the universe very differently. Where you see functioning and movement perhaps due to perhaps a design or some intent, I see them as a product of chance. I do not think it is appropriate to regard the inanimate as ignorant. As to your last question, I find matter to be more a intuitive and scientifically responsible origin than an assumed all-knowing Creator. Occam's Razor supports this.
Isn't oil also supposed to run out in 2050?XD America loses religion around 2050 (I'm assuming)? That's hilarious "NO OIL! NO RELIGION!>:(" - George W. Bush.
Religion = hypocrisy, killing in the name of, amnesia, crimes against humanity, secret societies with evil black magic, organized evil occult (regardless of race, sexual orientation, almost any religion) = works for the 1% Illuminati behind the curtain and fucks the 99%
Atheism = knowing the truth, being afraid to say it out loud to not hurt the feelings of religious friends / family / whoever
Most people are too brainwashed to realize how they're being used and how horrific the world works :(
ABUJA (Reuters) - Islamist militants set off bombs across Nigeria on Christmas Day - three targeting churches including one that killed at least 27 people - raising fears that they are trying to ignite sectarian civil war. The Boko Haram Islamist sect, which aims to impose sharia law across the country, claimed responsibility for the three church bombs, the second Christmas in a row the group has caused mass carnage with deadly bombings of churches.
For all you idiots out there ... YES ... Religiousity *IS* dying out in the *WEST*. What these morons didn't tell you is that the *WEST* itself is dying out. Atheism cannot survive without wht ppl. The wht population is shrinking while the RELIGIOUS third world is about to explode in population (and we all know ppl are more likely to adopt the views of their parents or upbringing).
@CasperTheMeanieGhost To clarify the US has a population growth of 2.1 and most European countries have a population growth of 2.3 or higher but your are right third world countries are exploding in birth rates however the death rates in these countries is also very high. atheism is on the rise but not nearly as fast as other believes. One thing we can say though is Buh bye Christianity
@CasperTheMeanieGhost You are wrong again. The fastest growing group in America is non-believers (factual). Christianity is also dying in many 1st world countries. There was a recent report on it, which showed figures from many parts of Europe, where religion has become a minority belief amongst the population.
The fact (if it is a fact) that religion is growing in third world countries, only supports many of the arguments against religion..so I wouldn't use that little bit of info if I was you
@ImBackAJ20101 I'm not wrong at all. I never denied atheism is on the rise in western countries. I said its *ONLY* on the rise in western countries. THAT is the point.
Given the pathetic birth rate of secular western nations, the explosive birth rate of third world nations, the immigration of third world citizens into western nations and the fact that ppl tend to adopt the views they were raised under, atheism will eventually reach near extinction.
@CasperTheMeanieGhost How many African refugees, that live in mud houses, emigrate? Just curious. The fact that religion is growing in poor, less educated countries is not, I repeat, is NOT, a good point for your side.
Religion was a tool used to control, and calm, and give hope to the hopeless. To explain things to people that didnt know more than how to farm. It was used to group power amongnst the few, and turn peasants into a resource (donation, sacrifice, solider, etc...)
@ImBackAJ20101 Religion was a tool used to control, and calm, and give hope to ...
___
Western intellectuals were aware only of the superstitious aspect of false religion and how the established dogmas of religion lacked all logical basis, so they had no hesitation in condemning religion as such to be baseless. Their judgment was based on their discouraging experiences with their own religion, and it could not fail, then, to be hasty, unrealistic, irrational and illogical.
It is true that certain religions, lacking a connection with the principles of revelation, have been influenced in their appearance and growth by the social environment and similar factors. However, it is illogical to ascribe the foundation of all faiths and religious tendencies to material or economic circumstances and demands, to fear of the terrifying forces of nature, to ignorance or to considerations rejected by science.
Scholars are agreed that religious beliefs have always been intertwined with human life. However, their opinions differ concerning the fundamental roots of religion and the factors that have played a primary role in its establishment and development. Their judgments, in this respect, are generally based on studies of superstitious religions and primitive beliefs, with the result that their conclusions are, in the final analysis, defective and illogical.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Without doubt, one of the factors in the emergence of anti-religious ideas and a phalanx of deniers of God, has been the false teachings, the inadequacies and the intellectual perversions of the followers of some religions. The peculiarities and separate characteristics of each religion must, therefore, be individually examined when studying the reasons that have led men to adhere to that religion.
All praise is due to ALLAH, the Lord of the Universe.
@1tabligh em, no. Its because in western world pricks like you cant do shit about non-believers, and people dont have to be afraid of persecution and hate anymore. Crall back to your bronze age.
@VarykGerai Should the scientist, who is aware of the natural causes and of the factors determining each step of creation towards perfection, of mankind's evolution, of the minute accuracy and exactitude that rules every change in the nature that surrounds us, come to believe that these wondrous laws and amazing interactions have somehow fortuitously emerged out of mindless matter?
@1tabligh I would hardly use "exactitude" to describe changes in nature. The scientist should accept natural selection a basic cause driving evolution. It is clear to me that this is a haphazard process, and thus I would hardly call it "fortuitous." The goal of survival drives instead an ongoing process filled with struggle, one of trial and error- but beautiful nonetheless- to further the fitness of a species. Look no further than the expanses of extraneous material within the human genome.
@niceshotmano Is it at all feasible to regard all the geometry, functioning and movement of the universe as the outcome of matter in its ignorance?
How could it be believed that matter should itself be the origin of millions of attributes and characteristics and thus be the equivalent of the purposeful, wise and all-knowing Creator?
@1tabligh laws and constants and such is a human concept. Universe is how it is. It has nothing to do with mindless or councious matter. If all of it was just abit diferent it would still be it. Only that probably would have led to diferent life forms if any at all.
@VarykGerai How can it be supposed that belief in the existence of God is the acceptance of contradiction, whereas belief in the uncaused nature of an effect such as matter is not contradictory?
@VarykGerai Is it at all possible that the cells of the body should learn their functions, pursue their aim in a precise and orderly fashion, and crystallize so miraculously in the world of being, without there being a conscious and powerful being to instruct them?
Is it not rather the case that phenomena such as these prove and demonstrate, with the utmost emphasis, the need for a plan, a design, a guiding hand inspired by conscious will?
@VarykGerai What realistic scientist, sincerely given to seeking the truth could claim today that while a kidney transplant is the result of centuries of continuous scientific research and experimentation, the structure of the kidney itself reveals no trace of a creative intelligence and will, being the product of mere nature—nature which has no more knowledge or awareness than a kindergarten pupil?
@1tabligh any of them working on the procedure. Because again, they know wery well of whats going on in the body. Not that they look of the trace at all, thats not why these people studied for years and dedicaded their lifes for.
@VarykGerai and as you pointed out yourself, nature has no knowledge or awareness of itsellf. Its chemical interactions that were studied for centuries.
@VarykGerai Is it not more logical to posit the existence of intelligence, will and planning in the creation of and ordering of the world than to attribute creativity to matter which lacks intelligence, thought, consciousness and the power to innovate?
@VarykGerai Belief in the existence of a wise creator is without doubt more logical than faith in the creativity of matter, which has neither perception, consciousness, nor the ability to plan; we cannot attribute to matter all the properties and attributes of intelligence that we see in the world and the ordering will that it displays.
@VarykGerai Is it logical to say that belief in God is peculiar to those who know nothing about man's composition and creation, and that, by contrast, a scientist who is aware of the natural laws and factors responsible for man's growth and development, who knows that law and precise calculation preside over all stages of man's existence, is bound to believe that matter, lacking all perception and consciousness, is the source of the wondrous laws of nature?
@VarykGerai Do scientific discoveries and knowledge cause such a scientist to conclude that matter, *unknowing and unperceiving *, is his creator and that of all beings?
No?
Then how can the duped atheists and some of the scientists delude themselve and *believe* that hydrogen and oxygen, electrons and protons, should first produce themselves, then be the source for all other beings, and finally decree the laws that regulate themselves and the rest of the material world?
@1tabligh electrons and protons do not produce themselves, neither do laws regulate themsleves. noone ever implied that. go read about things you are arguing against first and quit inventing concepts that you can argue against them later.
@VarykGerai electrons and protons do not produce themselves
___
Then where did they come from?
The atheist Delusion!
How could some of the scientists permit themselves to make a claim that would necessitate knowledge as extensive as the scheme of the universe, when their knowledge of the total scheme of being is *close* to zero, when confronted with a whole mass of unknowns concerning this very earth and tangible, lifeless matter, let alone the whole universe?
@1tabligh Atoms consist of subatomic particles. Just open a freakin textbook.
And youre the one implying you have absolute knowledge. with your whole "creator" thing. Yes there are unknowns, but unlike religion, that attributes stuff to the creator, sciency keeps looking for answers. However the knowledge of the big scheme is far from close to zero. Youre knowledge on the other hand might be that.
What is called science by the *science-worshippers* of the present age and regarded by them as equivalent to the sum total of *reality*, is simply a collection of laws applicable to a single dimension of the world. The result of all human effort and experimentation is a body of knowledge concerning a minute bright dot comparable to the dim light of a candle-surrounded by a dark night enveloping a huge desert of indefinite extent.
All praise is due to ALLAH, the Lord of the Universe.
@VarykGerai The purpose of your assertion would be that the *big bang* made itself twice. It would mean that its first endeavours consisted in creating itself, and when it was quite ready and created, it created itself again. This is the most *absurd* and impossible theory-the acquisition of what is already acquired.
If you say that it created itself before it came into existence, it is really *stupid*. Because it was absolutely nothing before it came into existence.
@VarykGerai How is it possible for a non-existing thing to create another thing (*big bang*) ? You consider my belief in an existing thing (God) that creates another non-existing thing (*big bang*) as absurd. But you do not consider your own, as to the non-existing thing having the power to create an already existing thing,(*big bang*) as absurd and stupid.
Be yourself the judge, and tell me whose theory is absurd and irrational.?
@VarykGerai In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
"Do not the Unbelievers see that the heavens and the earth (Universe) were joined together as one unit (atom) of creation, before we clove (exploded) them asunder? We made from water every living thing. Will they not then believe?"
@CasperTheMeanieGhost ...today, it is an ugly, murderous, false belief system, that is bringing our civilization to it's knees. Atheism won't go extinct, because religion will make us extinct far sooner.
And FYI, if you will notice 2nd and 3rd generation immigrant families have a less strong belief, due to the influence, and education of the first world. so your argument fails..the more that emigrate to the first world, the more that will eventually become (at least) secular.
@ImBackAJ20101 Of course I'm making a good point. I'm not arguing theism is good because its more accepted by third world peoples. Theism is *normal*. Atheism is *abnormal* (as abnormal as solipsism). The only point I'm making is that atheism is SHRINKING globally. Its only growing among a small percentage of the globe (the west).
Your point about 2nd and 3rd generations fails when you look farther into the future. Its not enough to counter the third world birth rates. Not even close.
@CasperTheMeanieGhost wow, i think you'll find that white people are not dying out you stupid fucking idiot. and i think you'll find that atheism is an extremely fast growing group, because people are realising that religion is not only for the wishful and the retarded but its damaging too.
@hobbohippy2 I think you'll find that the white population is barely moving while the third world is about to *explode* in population you stupid fucking idiot. Get it through your head ... Atheism is growing IN THE WHITE WESTERN WORLD. Thats it. But thats the very world going down the drain as we speak. You can thank atheists for promoting the gay lifestyle (which produces no babies), advocationg abortion rights and simply not getting laid (20 bucks says you never had a girlfriend).
@CasperTheMeanieGhost ok so the white west world is going down the drain? your either fucking retarded or completely insane. we control the world we can walk into any ledc and take whatever the fuck we want look at fuked up countries like afghanistan n iraq, absolutely run over by the western world. and africa? south america? we take pity on them and give them money to eat. are you jealous of white people? because we have the freedom to choose? well i pity you.
@hobbohippy2 Idiot, I'm talking about population numbers. The whole point of this video is that atheism is on the rise. But thats only true in the west (not the whole world). Atheism will hardly exist in 50 years. Don't you know that ppl tend to adopt the views of their parents or upbringing? Well, the third world is about to explode in population. Matter fact, *THEY* will eventually migrate to the western world and make it THEIR home.
@CasperTheMeanieGhost yep another extreme religious angry idiot that probably lives in europe trying to bite the hand that feeds them. islam will never breach the boarders of free people, because islam is handcuffs to mankind and its advances. sharia law is the most disgraceful primitive mess thats ever been, and the funny thing is it was made up by a deluded violent pedophile.
@hobbohippy2 Ugh ... I'm actually a white American Christian. I'm just being real ... Given the present birth rate in European nations AND immigration, atheism will eventually die out even in the secular nations where it is presently growing today.
@hobbohippy2 Of course. He allows you the free will to blow rods, doesn't he? So why wouldn't he allow ppl the free will to adopt whatever belief system their minds can conjure up?
Bottom line ... Atheism is dying *globally*. This is directly related to the pathetic birth rate in secular nations, the explosive birth rate of third world nations and immigration into secular nations (remember ... ppl are most likely to adopt the views they were already brought up in).
@CasperTheMeanieGhost you have the most retarded belief system in the world, so im gona guess your actually a muslim, if you did some research instead of wishing that atheism is dying, then why dont you look at the likes of japan 70% atheist scandanavia is mostly atheist the uk 40% atheist, its the 3rd wrld countries that have nothing else but faith in god that are still clinging to it, which i understand. but youve been exposed to truth n you still believe this shite. do u believe in evolution
@hobbohippy2 I already told you I'm not a Muslim you fuckhole! Look at my channel.
You obviously have reading comprehesion problems. I *CLEARLY* explained to you that atheism is on the rise in western nations but NOT in the world in general. And to refute this ... You appeal to western nations? Fuck off kid. Seriously.
The only way atheism has any kind of future is if secular nations actually kill off massive populations around the globe and end immigration. Atheism is elitism.
@CasperTheMeanieGhost so because religious 3rd world countries are producing stupid amounts of people that means white and atheist people are going to die out. your a fuking idiot with absolutely no fucking clue. your simply another sheep following the same lie you always have and always will. you cant mentally cope that their isnt a flying old man in the sky, well thats your loss buddy.
@hobbohippy2 Yes. Atheists *ARE* going to die out. READ CAREFULLY YOU FUCKING NITWIT ...
1) The third world is about to EXPLODE in population.
2) Secular nations have PATHETIC birth rates.
3) Immigration will eventually make third world citizens the MAJORITY even in those secular nations (and ppl tend to adopt the beliefs they were raised in).
I've never heard of anyone who believed there was a flying old man in the sky. Nice strawman. Strawmen are the atheists best friend.
@CasperTheMeanieGhost wow your really lost. you listen to your idiot pedophilic preachers and you take it as fact. and this should be really funny, i mean really laugh out loud funny, go on son whats "god" please define properly as my puny atheist brain doesnt understand "god" (and religious peoples best friend is make believe lad)
@hobbohippy2 Pedophilic preachers? Preachers don't even make up 1% of pedophiles you clown. The only reason pedophile preachers make bigger headlines is because they are held to a higher standard (as well they should be). Hell, Nambla is run by a bunch of wacko atheists in San Fransisco. Who do you think you're fooling?
I bet you watch German shit eating porn (they call it scat porn). Fuck you western secular wackos lol!
A self existent intelligence who is not made of what he made. If you want to box it out and see if this being actually exists, then PM me. However, I honestly don't think you're even capable of grasping the arguments.
Btw, did you know they just scientifically proved that the shroud of Turin HAD to be supernaturally made? That is, unless they had laser beams back then. Repeat after me ... I ... Am ... Fucked.
@CasperTheMeanieGhost pedophilic preachers, yano the catholic preachers that molest little boys. if you don't acknowledge them then your burying your head in the ground.
Ill end with this. if this god makes everything and is all powerful and wants us to believe in him, would he really need arguements over his existance? nope he wouldnt, he also wouldnt have all those strong competitors like allah and thor. but you wont see that your probably too indoctrinated and stupid to work it out.
@hobbohippy2 Of course I acknowledge them. I'm just saying they are a drop in the bucket of all the pedophiles out there.
He doesn't need arguments for his existence anymore than the existence of the physical world does. YET ... There are MORE ppl who deny the physical world exists (for example, 1 billion Hindus) than there are who deny God exists. They are BOTH insane. Only ppl like you who have their head far up their ass need arguments for what *normal* ppl call common sense.
@CasperTheMeanieGhost oh ok so a few pedophiles are ok. LMAOOO!! and ok cool so what will happen tonight if i pray for god to make me believe? or pray to god to present himself to me, will he not come? what evidence can you present that is stone cold proof of god. there isnt anything but i can wait for you to have a stab!
@hobbohippy2 I didn't say it was okay you moron. I said they don't even represent 1% of pedophiles. Wake up.
I told you to PM me if you want to get into that, but I actually already did present proof ... Scientists came out just this friday with a study that PROVES the shroud of Turin had to be supernaturally created. Google "Shroud of Turin authentic". Its all over the web now. Sucks for you, huh?
@CasperTheMeanieGhost i always thought that no pedophiles was better then still having pedophiles but hey! its the chruch, they can do whatever the fuck they want. and i just want to clarify, an old but of cloth with a mans face on it is your remarkable evidence that there is an all knowing all powerful master of the universe that condones the slavery and rape of millions of people and now changed his mind to be all nice and merciful because raping murdering gods dont get much money nowadays?
@hobbohippy2 Explain how they made the shroud without laser technology??? Thats exactly what science has just proven. Are you saying they had lasers back then you fucking idiot???
Watch the slavery series (all 3 parts) in my favorites section. The bible doesn't condone slavery. Matter fact, according to the bible, all transatlantic slavetraders should have been hung from trees. It clearly says anyone who steals a man and sells him into slavery shall be put to death.
@hobbohippy2 If you're so worried about pedophilia, why don't you go after all your atheist friends in Nambla out in San Fran?
Hell, I've had many atheists tell me there's nothing morally wrong with fucking animals. Matter fact, do YOU think there's anything wrong with eating cow pussy? I mean, you believe you're an animal, right?
@CasperTheMeanieGhost if you fuck a child your a fucking sick cunt, i dont care if your atheist or christian, thats fucking weird. thats my take on that. the secular governments dont stop them goin to prison. but the church? the pope? absolutely no priests have been put into jail. and wtf r u talking about you sick mother fucker you fuck cows?
@hobbohippy2 Btw, did you know studies show that atheists are more likely to believe in the paranormal (shit like ghosts, astrology, bigfoot, crop circles, alien abductions, crystal powers ect.)? Atheists will fall for anything. You name it.
That explains why you're dumb enough to believe hydrogen is a colorless, odorless gas which (given enough time) can turn into people.
iIf you think about it the world kinda gets boring if we are all atheist wouldn't it?, I mean where's the fun in that if we don't get to make fun at all the illogical and naive religious communities anymore?
@Lushken See what assumption does to you? Just makes you look foolish. Hitler, publicly defined himself as a "Christian", however he was DEEP into the occult, and used black magic in the hopes of gaining power. No true Christian looks for power anywhere else then from God. Plenty of "Christian" leaders have done bad things, but that's how you know they are false....your atheist leaders on the other hand have all done bad things, and are warlords, true atheists.
@RageAgainstNWO No one denies that people are can be bad people, whether they are religious or not. However, atheism (agnosticism, non-theist, whatever) USUALLY is a rational system. No one kills each other over being too rational. Religious faith eschews rationality. That's the point of contention. Stalin did bad things, Stalin was an atheist. Stalin didn't do bad things BECAUSE he was an atheist. This is such a tired misconception it's frustrating.
Right ... Which explains why studies show that atheists are *MORE* likely to believe in the paranormal (ghosts, alien abductions, crystal powers, astrology etc) than Christians are.
"Stalin didn't do bad things BECAUSE he was an atheist"
Yes he did. His brand of atheism was antitheism (which is a *hatred* for religion). Does that mean all atheists are antitheists? Not necessarily.
Btw, immigration will eventually end atheism in the west.
@CasperTheMeanieGhost Which studies? Please, I'm intrigued to see such damning evidence of a double standard. As for Stalin, your opinion shows a misunderstanding of the Soviet Union. Stalin's iconoclast behavior towards the Church was a means of asserting his own godhood and the authority of the new Politburo. Few non-theists who claim to be rational would support the destruction of churches of the Bible. Just the release of outdated beliefs that masquerade as morality.
@tcktrc A comprehensive study by the Gallup organization and released by Baylor University under the title "What Americans Really Believe". Atheists will fall for anything. You name it.
His own "godhood"? Ugh ... If Stalin actually believed he was a god, then he wouldn't be an atheist. He denied all gods. He *HATED* religion. He wanted it dead. He tried to eradicate it. Many atheists have.
@CasperTheMeanieGhost Yes, godhood. Stalin had images of him EVERYWHERE. He was thought of as an omnipotent, omnipresent dictator. The Party was his church. To discount that is to dismiss decades of scholarly research. The parallels are documented and are visible to anyone looking with an objective mind. The repudiation of others, the reverence of a leader, the repression of heresy. Come on man. Read a book or two. I'll have to check out the study. Sounds interesting.
@tcktrc "He was thought of as an omnipotent, omnipresent dictator"
LMFAO!!! Are you smoking crack? Seriously.
Stalin's regime promoted NATURALISM you idiot! You're using hyperbole to describe Stalin as being viewed as "omnipotent" or "omniscient". They were fucking naturalists! Hello?
@CasperTheMeanieGhost You are willfully misinterpreting history. Just because the State espoused a disbelief in God, does not mean that that disbelief resulted in the tyranny of communism. They were a police state. Stalin was a seen as a demi-god to be feared and 'worshiped' by the populace. Dissent toward the Party and Stalin was punishable by death. Informers lurked around every corner. To deny this is to deny history. I can't talk with someone who reinterprets facts.
@tcktrc "Few non'theists who claim to be rational would support the destruction of churches"
LMAO ... You realize the *MAJORITY* of atheists RIGHT NOW are Communists, right? The majority of atheists in the world are in China (one of the most oppressive nations on earth btw).
@CasperTheMeanieGhost Is Communism a rational system? No. You are completely missing the point of my argument. Apparently on purpose too, since I can't make it any clearer. Rationality should be try to be the basis of all our public policy (stem cell research, homosexual equality) and interpersonal (not condemning those who believe differently, universe equality between sexes) decisions. All things the Bible and Koran forbid.
@CasperTheMeanieGhost But is it to the countries practicing superior economic systems? No. Just because someone believes something doesn't mean it's correct or rational (sound familiar?). You must have reasons and evidence. Capitalism has both over communism. Hence a more RATIONAL system. What's not clear about that. And just because the State promotes and atheistic system, doesn't mean the average peasant has given up their rural beliefs.
@tcktrc I agree that Capitalism is more rational than Communism. Thats just another example of theists (most of whom are Capitalists) being more rational than atheists (most of whom are Communists *worldwide*).
I agree that most rural Chinese are not atheists, but nobody denies that China makes up the majority of the global atheist population. We're talking about 1.4 billion ppl here.
@CasperTheMeanieGhost This is the what theists don't understand: atheism is not a belief system. Being an atheist doesn't automatically mean you subscribe to any other creed. Just because someone is an atheist and they do bad things, does not mean it was done because of atheism. It wouldn't make sense. The church could serve as a means of impulse control sure, but in the years before communism if you wanted to see evil justify itself, look at the pious.
*ALL* standard dictionaries define atheism as the BELIEF that there is no God OR the disbelief in God (if you look up "disbelief", it means to POSITIVELY reject something).
Btw, not only do *ALL* standard dictionaries disagree with your definition of the word, the MAJORITY of nontheists disagree with it (else they would self identify as "atheist" when they don't).
Remember ... Words are defined by their common usage.
@CasperTheMeanieGhost I said belief system. Name me a standard set of principles and beliefs that could be said to apply to all atheists. By the way, I identify as a non-theist because I don't agree with all the connotations of atheism. But this is all beside the point. You focus on one definition and ignore the larger point I was making. I'm getting tired of talking to fundamentalist leaning Christians on YT. I'm not going to be replying anymore. Good day and don't vote.
@tcktrc "Name me a standard set of principles and beliefs that could be said to apply to all atheists"
I don't have to. Atheism is defined as a belief. Atheistic communists *HATED* religion and KILLED religious ppl because they took that belief to the extreme (to the point killing theists). That doesn't mean all atheists will logically take the same road, but it does mean that those atrocities ARE related to atheism.
@CasperTheMeanieGhost Regardles,s the "belief" is not based on fact-less, ancient texts, it is most commonly based on science, facts, and testable truth. If you are trying to find solace in convincing others that their non-belief, is a belief system also...then I pity you.
Get your head out of your ass guy. Science is *SILENT* on the God issue. To say that atheism is supported by science is absolutely absurd.
Btw, the very fact that studies show atheists are more likely to believe in every wacky paranormal subject out there already puts their *belief* that there is no God (the actual definition of the word atheist according to *all* standard dictionaries) on shaky ground.
@CasperTheMeanieGhost First off, I never said atheism is supported by Science. I said, atheists base their views on Scientific facts, not ancient myths.
Oh, and what studies show Atheists believe in every wacky paranormal subject out there? Please provide links. I can show you studies of Atheists knowing more about religious texts than religious people themselves. We inform ourselves, and come to (usually) logical, rational conclusions.
@ImBackAJ20101 "Atheists base their views o Scientific facts"
Really? Which scientific fact supports the view that there is no God (which is *exactly* what atheism means according to *all* standard dictionaries)?
I already provided the study. Google "Atheists more likely to believe in paranormal". So much for your claim that atheists base their views on scientific facts lol!
@CasperTheMeanieGhost What a joke! I love that every result in the search more or less links back to the WSJ article. You do realize (maybe you were home schooled, so you missed-out on statistics) that the poll grouped every non-christian as "others" and "irreligious". This is a massive statistical error, that says nothing about Atheism...People can believe in a god, and believe in astrology (ironically, Christianity is strongly based on astrology)
@ImBackAJ20101 I never said someone can't believe in a God and astrology. The poll shows that the more religious you are, the LESS likely you are to believe in most paranormal pseudoscience and the less religious you are, the MORE likely you are to believe in most paranormal pseudoscience. Atheists make up the majority of the "irreligious" group. The poll classifies the irreligious as those who do not practice worship.
Btw, you realize half the atheists in the world aren't even naturalists?
@Elvishairdude89 Apathy toward reality leads to theism. Believing in childish fantasy is weak. Believing in an evil god is immoral. You do not know belief in a higher power has been around since the dawn of man & you do not know it is not going away. Atheism cannot try to stamp out anything. Atheism is not a person or group of people. Without progressives, you would not have most of the freedoms you probably take for granted.
The reason why people are not believing in religion is because people dont want to take the time and energy to care. I mean there are facts the support the life of god, and there are facts that dont, but why take the chance?
Free from false religion, is the first step to find the true religion. Good. If this earth still exist 5000 years later, i predict there will only 2 extreeme believes, Atheism and One True God Religion (Islam). Wallahu'alam.
@DannyAbdillah One things for sure. Atheism will always exist as long as the human species does. Because questioning what one believes rigorously is a characteristic of human curiosity that will never die.
@TatsujinSan do you read my prediction? I say : "If this earth still exist 5000 years later, I predict there will only 2 extreeme believes, Atheism and One True God Religion (Islam). Wallahu'alam."
They wonder why the No religion group is the fastest growing group in civilized countries? Could it possibly be better education and the right and freedom to question those who try to feed you mystical bullshit
@55metalmonkey thats what they said right before God destroyed 17 billion people in the flood , and millions in the overthrow of Sodom and Gommorh and the surrounding cities.
@GODH8ZZ so to expand on what your saying, and in other words God will let you live if your an uneducated moron who blindly follows anything told to them as long as its under the pretense that it's gods will? is that what you mean with your S&G tale?, do you seriously believe that Sodom and Gommorh was destroyed by a flood? can you cite any credible archaeological evidence of this actually happening... I mean REAL evidence, not AIG or any of the other 50 or so bias bullshit bible sites.
@Condomdog Sodom was destroyed by sulfur (brimstone) raining from heaven and yes there is archaelogical evidence and the first world ws destroyed by a flood and yes ther is archaelogical and fossil evidence for it. Face it youre going to hell/
@rebelde69ateo statistics are just numbers, they dont mean anything without people infering things from them. religion is hard to define in and of its self, but ultimately "religion" isnt dieing out, its simply evolving. People are just finding new ways to express thier spirituality, which changes from century to century. Ever heard of the positive thinking movement that Oprah made famous? the whole "thinking things into reality". ITs not a traditional "religion" per se, but it is growing.
@rebelde69ateo And it shares a lot of characteristics with religion. Keep in mind that religion doesn't need a god to exist. Belief in God and religion are two completely different things. Religion is just an organization, group of people with similiar beliefs. Like a political party. Point is religion really isnt dieing out, its simply evolving-people are learning spirituality doesnt have to come from a church and ritual.
I'm a dimmwit you say? You are the one who has been brainwashed in to believing that there is some kind of mythical supernatural being "invisably" floating around in the stratusphere that fills your mind with all this hatred, judgement and false superiority. You need one of those brainwashing deprogrammers.
in Ireland "no religon" is the second biggest faith group behind catholics in the latest census and it is rising. Most catholics in Ireland are not fanatics by any means any many have lost interest but still consider themselves catholic.

So I do think that eventually, the percentage of believers will be substantially less. Complete extinction is doubtful, there are still practicing druids in Britain afterall, but their numbers will be less.
Concequence 2 months ago
Eventually western civilization will lose it's religious population is decreasing, but I doubt it will go that fast. Though non believers are growing in number there is also the factor that people are also becoming less religious in the sense that they start to doubt sections of their faith but keep believing in it's core believe. An example of this is that there are Christians that don't believe that it is a sin to be gay.
Concequence 2 months ago

Buh bye atheism ;)

@CasperTheMeanieGhost To clarify the US has a population growth of 2.1 and most European countries have a population growth of 2.3 or higher but your are right third world countries are exploding in birth rates however the death rates in these countries is also very high. atheism is on the rise but not nearly as fast as other believes. One thing we can say though is Buh bye Christianity

@atechpriest "One thing we can say though is Buh bye Christianity"
Wrong. Christianity is exploding in the third world (as is Islam). The only thing going buh bye is atheism and the western world in general.
CasperTheMeanieGhost 2 months ago
@CasperTheMeanieGhost You are wrong again. The fastest growing group in America is non-believers (factual). Christianity is also dying in many 1st world countries. There was a recent report on it, which showed figures from many parts of Europe, where religion has become a minority belief amongst the population.
The fact (if it is a fact) that religion is growing in third world countries, only supports many of the arguments against religion..so I wouldn't use that little bit of info if I was you
ImBackAJ20101 2 months ago

1tabligh 2 months ago
It is true that certain religions, lacking a connection with the principles of revelation, have been influenced in their appearance and growth by the social environment and similar factors. However, it is illogical to ascribe the foundation of all faiths and religious tendencies to material or economic circumstances and demands, to fear of the terrifying forces of nature, to ignorance or to considerations rejected by science.
1tabligh 2 months ago
Scholars are agreed that religious beliefs have always been intertwined with human life. However, their opinions differ concerning the fundamental roots of religion and the factors that have played a primary role in its establishment and development. Their judgments, in this respect, are generally based on studies of superstitious religions and primitive beliefs, with the result that their conclusions are, in the final analysis, defective and illogical.

1tabligh 2 months ago

1tabligh 2 months ago
@1tabligh laws and constants and such is a human concept. Universe is how it is. It has nothing to do with mindless or councious matter. If all of it was just abit diferent it would still be it. Only that probably would have led to diferent life forms if any at all.

@1tabligh who atributed creativity to matter? I certainly didnt, dont think any of the scientists did.
VarykGerai 2 months ago
@VarykGerai atleast in a literal sence?
VarykGerai 2 months ago
@VarykGerai Belief in the existence of a wise creator is without doubt more logical than faith in the creativity of matter, which has neither perception, consciousness, nor the ability to plan; we cannot attribute to matter all the properties and attributes of intelligence that we see in the world and the ordering will that it displays.
1tabligh 2 months ago
@1tabligh Youre the one atributting these properties to matter, not me not scientists.

VarykGerai 2 months ago
@VarykGerai Do scientific discoveries and knowledge cause such a scientist to conclude that matter, *unknowing and unperceiving *, is his creator and that of all beings?
No?
Then how can the duped atheists and some of the scientists delude themselve and *believe* that hydrogen and oxygen, electrons and protons, should first produce themselves, then be the source for all other beings, and finally decree the laws that regulate themselves and the rest of the material world?
1tabligh 2 months ago
@1tabligh electrons and protons do not produce themselves, neither do laws regulate themsleves. noone ever implied that. go read about things you are arguing against first and quit inventing concepts that you can argue against them later.
VarykGerai 2 months ago
@VarykGerai electrons and protons do not produce themselves
___
Then where did they come from?
The atheist Delusion!
How could some of the scientists permit themselves to make a claim that would necessitate knowledge as extensive as the scheme of the universe, when their knowledge of the total scheme of being is *close* to zero, when confronted with a whole mass of unknowns concerning this very earth and tangible, lifeless matter, let alone the whole universe?
1tabligh 2 months ago
@1tabligh Atoms consist of subatomic particles. Just open a freakin textbook.
And youre the one implying you have absolute knowledge. with your whole "creator" thing. Yes there are unknowns, but unlike religion, that attributes stuff to the creator, sciency keeps looking for answers. However the knowledge of the big scheme is far from close to zero. Youre knowledge on the other hand might be that.
VarykGerai 2 months ago
What is called science by the *science-worshippers* of the present age and regarded by them as equivalent to the sum total of *reality*, is simply a collection of laws applicable to a single dimension of the world. The result of all human effort and experimentation is a body of knowledge concerning a minute bright dot comparable to the dim light of a candle-surrounded by a dark night enveloping a huge desert of indefinite extent.
All praise is due to ALLAH, the Lord of the Universe.
1tabligh 2 months ago
@1tabligh matter - source of laws? where do you get this crap?
VarykGerai 2 months ago
@VarykGerai The purpose of your assertion would be that the *big bang* made itself twice. It would mean that its first endeavours consisted in creating itself, and when it was quite ready and created, it created itself again. This is the most *absurd* and impossible theory-the acquisition of what is already acquired.
If you say that it created itself before it came into existence, it is really *stupid*. Because it was absolutely nothing before it came into existence.
1tabligh 2 months ago
@VarykGerai How is it possible for a non-existing thing to create another thing (*big bang*) ? You consider my belief in an existing thing (God) that creates another non-existing thing (*big bang*) as absurd. But you do not consider your own, as to the non-existing thing having the power to create an already existing thing,(*big bang*) as absurd and stupid.
Be yourself the judge, and tell me whose theory is absurd and irrational.?

@CasperTheMeanieGhost ...today, it is an ugly, murderous, false belief system, that is bringing our civilization to it's knees. Atheism won't go extinct, because religion will make us extinct far sooner.
And FYI, if you will notice 2nd and 3rd generation immigrant families have a less strong belief, due to the influence, and education of the first world. so your argument fails..the more that emigrate to the first world, the more that will eventually become (at least) secular.
ImBackAJ20101 2 months ago
@ImBackAJ20101 Of course I'm making a good point. I'm not arguing theism is good because its more accepted by third world peoples. Theism is *normal*. Atheism is *abnormal* (as abnormal as solipsism). The only point I'm making is that atheism is SHRINKING globally. Its only growing among a small percentage of the globe (the west).
Your point about 2nd and 3rd generations fails when you look farther into the future. Its not enough to counter the third world birth rates. Not even close.

@RageAgainstNWO im going to assume you think Hitler was an atheist dont you
Lushken 3 months ago
@Lushken See what assumption does to you? Just makes you look foolish. Hitler, publicly defined himself as a "Christian", however he was DEEP into the occult, and used black magic in the hopes of gaining power. No true Christian looks for power anywhere else then from God. Plenty of "Christian" leaders have done bad things, but that's how you know they are false....your atheist leaders on the other hand have all done bad things, and are warlords, true atheists.
RageAgainstNWO 3 months ago
@RageAgainstNWO No one denies that people are can be bad people, whether they are religious or not. However, atheism (agnosticism, non-theist, whatever) USUALLY is a rational system. No one kills each other over being too rational. Religious faith eschews rationality. That's the point of contention. Stalin did bad things, Stalin was an atheist. Stalin didn't do bad things BECAUSE he was an atheist. This is such a tired misconception it's frustrating.
tcktrc 2 months ago
@tcktrc "Atheism USUALLY is a rational system"
CasperTheMeanieGhost 2 months ago
@CasperTheMeanieGhost Which studies? Please, I'm intrigued to see such damning evidence of a double standard. As for Stalin, your opinion shows a misunderstanding of the Soviet Union. Stalin's iconoclast behavior towards the Church was a means of asserting his own godhood and the authority of the new Politburo. Few non-theists who claim to be rational would support the destruction of churches of the Bible. Just the release of outdated beliefs that masquerade as morality.
tcktrc 2 months ago
@tcktrc A comprehensive study by the Gallup organization and released by Baylor University under the title "What Americans Really Believe". Atheists will fall for anything. You name it.
His own "godhood"? Ugh ... If Stalin actually believed he was a god, then he wouldn't be an atheist. He denied all gods. He *HATED* religion. He wanted it dead. He tried to eradicate it. Many atheists have.
CasperTheMeanieGhost 2 months ago
@CasperTheMeanieGhost Yes, godhood. Stalin had images of him EVERYWHERE. He was thought of as an omnipotent, omnipresent dictator. The Party was his church. To discount that is to dismiss decades of scholarly research. The parallels are documented and are visible to anyone looking with an objective mind. The repudiation of others, the reverence of a leader, the repression of heresy. Come on man. Read a book or two. I'll have to check out the study. Sounds interesting.
tcktrc 2 months ago
@tcktrc "He was thought of as an omnipotent, omnipresent dictator"
LMFAO!!! Are you smoking crack? Seriously.
Stalin's regime promoted NATURALISM you idiot! You're using hyperbole to describe Stalin as being viewed as "omnipotent" or "omniscient". They were fucking naturalists! Hello?
CasperTheMeanieGhost 2 months ago
@CasperTheMeanieGhost You are willfully misinterpreting history. Just because the State espoused a disbelief in God, does not mean that that disbelief resulted in the tyranny of communism. They were a police state. Stalin was a seen as a demi-god to be feared and 'worshiped' by the populace. Dissent toward the Party and Stalin was punishable by death. Informers lurked around every corner. To deny this is to deny history. I can't talk with someone who reinterprets facts.
tcktrc 2 months ago
@tcktrc "Just because the State espoused a disbelief in God"
Not so fast ... They espoused a *HATRED* of religion. Why? Because of their antitheistic views. So its *DIRECTLY* related to atheism.
CasperTheMeanieGhost 2 months ago
@tcktrc "Few non'theists who claim to be rational would support the destruction of churches"
LMAO ... You realize the *MAJORITY* of atheists RIGHT NOW are Communists, right? The majority of atheists in the world are in China (one of the most oppressive nations on earth btw).
CasperTheMeanieGhost 2 months ago
@CasperTheMeanieGhost Is Communism a rational system? No. You are completely missing the point of my argument. Apparently on purpose too, since I can't make it any clearer. Rationality should be try to be the basis of all our public policy (stem cell research, homosexual equality) and interpersonal (not condemning those who believe differently, universe equality between sexes) decisions. All things the Bible and Koran forbid.
tcktrc 2 months ago
@tcktrc "Is Communism a rational system? No"
Try telling that to a Communist (the majority of whom just happens to be ATHEISTS).
CasperTheMeanieGhost 2 months ago
@CasperTheMeanieGhost But is it to the countries practicing superior economic systems? No. Just because someone believes something doesn't mean it's correct or rational (sound familiar?). You must have reasons and evidence. Capitalism has both over communism. Hence a more RATIONAL system. What's not clear about that. And just because the State promotes and atheistic system, doesn't mean the average peasant has given up their rural beliefs.
tcktrc 2 months ago
@tcktrc I agree that Capitalism is more rational than Communism. Thats just another example of theists (most of whom are Capitalists) being more rational than atheists (most of whom are Communists *worldwide*).
I agree that most rural Chinese are not atheists, but nobody denies that China makes up the majority of the global atheist population. We're talking about 1.4 billion ppl here.
CasperTheMeanieGhost 2 months ago
@CasperTheMeanieGhost This is the what theists don't understand: atheism is not a belief system. Being an atheist doesn't automatically mean you subscribe to any other creed. Just because someone is an atheist and they do bad things, does not mean it was done because of atheism. It wouldn't make sense. The church could serve as a means of impulse control sure, but in the years before communism if you wanted to see evil justify itself, look at the pious.
tcktrc 2 months ago
@tcktrc "Atheism is not a belief system"
WRONG!
CasperTheMeanieGhost 2 months ago
@CasperTheMeanieGhost I said belief system. Name me a standard set of principles and beliefs that could be said to apply to all atheists. By the way, I identify as a non-theist because I don't agree with all the connotations of atheism. But this is all beside the point. You focus on one definition and ignore the larger point I was making. I'm getting tired of talking to fundamentalist leaning Christians on YT. I'm not going to be replying anymore. Good day and don't vote.
tcktrc 2 months ago
@tcktrc "Name me a standard set of principles and beliefs that could be said to apply to all atheists"
I don't have to. Atheism is defined as a belief. Atheistic communists *HATED* religion and KILLED religious ppl because they took that belief to the extreme (to the point killing theists). That doesn't mean all atheists will logically take the same road, but it does mean that those atrocities ARE related to atheism.
CasperTheMeanieGhost 2 months ago
@CasperTheMeanieGhost Regardles,s the "belief" is not based on fact-less, ancient texts, it is most commonly based on science, facts, and testable truth. If you are trying to find solace in convincing others that their non-belief, is a belief system also...then I pity you.
ImBackAJ20101 2 months ago
@ImBackAJ20101 "It is most commonly based on science"
Get your head out of your ass guy. Science is *SILENT* on the God issue. To say that atheism is supported by science is absolutely absurd.
Btw, the very fact that studies show atheists are more likely to believe in every wacky paranormal subject out there already puts their *belief* that there is no God (the actual definition of the word atheist according to *all* standard dictionaries) on shaky ground.
CasperTheMeanieGhost 2 months ago
@CasperTheMeanieGhost First off, I never said atheism is supported by Science. I said, atheists base their views on Scientific facts, not ancient myths.
Oh, and what studies show Atheists believe in every wacky paranormal subject out there? Please provide links. I can show you studies of Atheists knowing more about religious texts than religious people themselves. We inform ourselves, and come to (usually) logical, rational conclusions.
ImBackAJ20101 2 months ago
@ImBackAJ20101 "Atheists base their views o Scientific facts"
Really? Which scientific fact supports the view that there is no God (which is *exactly* what atheism means according to *all* standard dictionaries)?
I already provided the study. Google "Atheists more likely to believe in paranormal". So much for your claim that atheists base their views on scientific facts lol!
CasperTheMeanieGhost 2 months ago
@CasperTheMeanieGhost What a joke! I love that every result in the search more or less links back to the WSJ article. You do realize (maybe you were home schooled, so you missed-out on statistics) that the poll grouped every non-christian as "others" and "irreligious". This is a massive statistical error, that says nothing about Atheism...People can believe in a god, and believe in astrology (ironically, Christianity is strongly based on astrology)
You just dug the hole deeper for yourself bud.
ImBackAJ20101 2 months ago

"no religion" - the fastest growing part of the population in the usa. about time!
of course, superstition will never completely go extinct, but it will be reduced to a small group of retards. alleluia!!!
rebelde69ateo 3 months ago 2
@rebelde69ateo statistics are just numbers, they dont mean anything without people infering things from them. religion is hard to define in and of its self, but ultimately "religion" isnt dieing out, its simply evolving. People are just finding new ways to express thier spirituality, which changes from century to century. Ever heard of the positive thinking movement that Oprah made famous? the whole "thinking things into reality". ITs not a traditional "religion" per se, but it is growing.
ikcjjtt 3 months ago
@rebelde69ateo And it shares a lot of characteristics with religion. Keep in mind that religion doesn't need a god to exist. Belief in God and religion are two completely different things. Religion is just an organization, group of people with similiar beliefs. Like a political party. Point is religion really isnt dieing out, its simply evolving-people are learning spirituality doesnt have to come from a church and ritual.
ikcjjtt 3 months ago
I'm a dimmwit you say? You are the one who has been brainwashed in to believing that there is some kind of mythical supernatural being "invisably" floating around in the stratusphere that fills your mind with all this hatred, judgement and false superiority.
