Fantastic video! Reminds of when I was a little girl and living in Maadi. One day we went to downtown Cairo. My mother got scared but my Gran and I were having a great time pantomiming the spices we wanted from the stalls in the souk. Happy days...I want to learn Arabic and go back one day :D

I'm off to Sharm in 3 weeks and I too am planning on a 1 day trip.

I also want to know what are the must sees and if I should book a standard guided tour from Sharm to Cairo

Or book my own flight from Sharm to Cairo then get our own guide?

Take it from me get your own guide and do some research of where you want to go and see.

I would recommend going to Cairo for as little as possible, just to see the pyramids and check out the city.

Stay in a place called Zamalek in cairo because its the nicest part of town. There's a Marriot and a lot to do there.

Then go other cities ASAP like hurghada, dahab, EL GOUNA or sharm because beaches and clubbing is awesome and those places are amazing.

@youssef5671 Thanks. We stayed the one night in downtown Cairo and had a great time. What we saw there will live with us forever. An experience to behold. We hated Sharm but loved Cairo even though the pollution there was shocking. Sharm was fake, Cairo and all it's warts was real. Our wee taxi driver was a pure gentleman, a lovely man
