My perceived diatribe and critique of USC will end. I have made my points about the greatness of UCLA football. It wasn't long ago that I was at UCLA and ended my time there at 4-0 vs USC, a couple PAC 10 Football Championships and a Basketball National Championship. We dominated USC in the 90's (8 in a row). That being said, congratulations to the USC football team, fans (exclude the bandwagon) and alumni for a great year and the 00 decade. UCLA will attack again.

One more thing to think about. UCLA has produced a starter for every position in the Superbowl and won a ring for each one. Legacy? A few players does not account for a legacy. ANY college football program can name a few good players. I am speaking of the consistent churning of players through a program. Winning more than one NC is a big feat and USC has won more than ten in the voting era. What has Ucla done? They get raped all the time.
I have made my points about the great things about UCLA football. As for USC, yes, they have a great football program. Just show respect for other teams. UCLA has a great basketball legacy but I am always positive about the USC basketball team. I hope they do well. Competition is good for all of us. Lets have a strong PAC 12.

I was there :D My favorite part was hearing the USC Trojan Marching Band playing Tusk (The UCLA Sucks Song) after the game. I also enjoyed the 50-0 ass whooping :P
As an ND fan I obviously dont like USC(still bitter over the bush push) but I at least respect them as a rival (as they have kept us on the schedule for 90 years and have had many classic games) and as a traditional college football power. I cannot say the same about UCLA.

USC's athletic administration for many years tried to hide that fact, not recognizing that honor, because he was Black. Well, Pete Carroll was not the number one choice for USC but I certainly do not think Jim Mora is a Pete Carroll. After these poor decisions, one has to ask what the AD of UCLA is attempting to do? He should be fired if it doesn't work out. My guess, it won't.
I think I'm finally getting it. The play at 0:31 is somewhat similar to the play at 0:04 when Barkley did the play action pass to Marquis Lee. However, the set was not so spread on that play. Looks like USC burned UCLA on both plays.
I can't stop re-watching Curtis McNeal's long touchdown run beginning at 0:31. UCLA's linebackers moved forward and got trapped in the box. Barkley clearly indicated a hand-off to the left side. UCLA's safeties immediately run to their left, away from the play leaving the field on their right side wide open. All the O-linesman make their assignments and there were two guys left to block then McNeal was gone. I'm flabbergasted by the defensive signals.
I'm so proud of this team. What total focus they brought to the field against an over matched ucla team. It was watching a lions pounce on a herd of poodles.
@ogdocvato I respectfully disagree. That offense had the potential to score a lot of points, but they'd go flat. Sark was OC but I have a feeling PCl was overriding him. Remember the Rose Bowl vs Penn St? SC scored 24 in the 2nd quarter, and scored only 7 points after that. The offense was fluid, explosive those 15 minutes, and conservative in the 2nd half. SC could have blown out Penn St by 24 points if they had kept the foot on the pedal, like those old thrashings of Iowa and Oklahoma.

Anyone notice the offensive set @ 2:08? Everyone is spread wide. Trojans are 2 or three yards from the endzone. This really looks like back yard football. The only thing missing was the white picket fence lining the back of the end-zone.
Check out the Bruin DBs in the middle on McNeal's TD run starting at 0:32. Should be pretty clear the Trojans were going to the left, but the Bruin DBs started flowing to the other side leaving a wide open field for McNeal. Un-frickin believable!

USC won the 2011 PAC-12 South Division (7-2; 10-2), beating the title-game "representative" 50-0 and finishing with 2 more wins in Div.-play than the Bruins. USC also beat the PAC-12 North Champion - at their home, one week after Oregon thrashed then #4 Stanford (now 11-1 & BCS-bowl bound). You have the audacity to say USC doesn't prepare its players, when it's UCLA players who ditch practice and make a tradition out of it. USC 50, UCLA 0... and you want to tell us about preparing players for tools to adapt and improve? One more thing to think about. UCLA has produced a starter for every position in the Superbowl and won a ring for each one. USC has sent more players to the NFL but they have failed to accomplish this feat (no starting center, QB, coach etc). I don't think they are any closer at QB with Palmer, Leinert, or Sanchez. UCLA will send back another QB before SC.You might say Barkley? Maybe? He might be the one but I have my doubts. He has more in common with Leaf than an Aikman or Elway.

Legacy? A few players does not account for a legacy. ANY college football program can name a few good players. I am speaking of the consistent churning of players through a program. I have made my points about the great things about UCLA football. As for USC, yes, they have a great football program. Just show respect for other teams. UCLA has a great basketball legacy but I am always positive about the USC basketball team. I hope they do well. Competition is good for all of us. Lets have a strong PAC 12.

A superbowl is more important, much more important than a national championship. UCLA has two quarterbacks that started a Superbowl (Kilmer and Aikman).And Aikman won three rings. USC None. As an ND fan I obviously dont like USC(still bitter over the bush push) but I at least respect them as a rival (as they have kept us on the schedule for 90 years and have had many classic games) and as a traditional college football power. I cannot say the same about UCLA.

@MrMedfield UCLA has a lot of history preparing young men for the NFL. None of my points are disrespectful. I am pointing out some facts so that USC fans learn about UCLA and USC history. They should respect that. USC is the number one college football school in the PAC 12 among other things. I will even defend them about those sanctions. It was very unfair and biased against USC. And Notre Dame? They haven't been much better than UCLA lately.

In college football USC is better than Notre Dame and UCLA at this time. That being said, I argue that the UCLA program has historically produced more amazing players for the NFL, and SUPERBOWL. If your a fan of the Cowboys you should remember Aikman, Norton, Washington. If you are a fan of the Raiders, remember 3 time Superbowl Champion Dave Dalby. If you are a 49er fan, remember 3 time Superbowl Champion Randy Cross. Remember USC excels in some categories and UCLA excels in others.

@CaliforniasGold Most of my comments are about football. Please read the history of Kenny Washington, Jackie Robbinson, and Troy Aikman. They all played college football for UCLA. I have been to USC-UCLA games since 93. I use to go to the coliseum but that stadium is falling apart. I go to the Rose Bowl only. Vulgarity has been displayed by fans of both schools. It is unacceptable. Real Bruins and Trojans don't need that. Ms. "Asians in the Library" has departed from UCLA.

USC's athletic administration for many years tried to hide that fact, not recognizing that honor, because he was Black. A few other Trojans, among them, my father, lobbied for his recognition and they eventually succeeded.

Even with the NCAA's outrageously harsh penalties, UCLA has been unable to capitalise and produce even a single victory (the Bush "scandal" blew up after the '06 "miracle" that was to signal UCLA's turnaround). UCLA is a college and its football program is to make the school money, not produce NFL talent.

I think I'm finally getting it. The play at 0:31 is somewhat similar to the play at 0:04 when Barkley did the play action pass to Marquis Lee. However, the set was not so spread on that play. Looks like USC burned UCLA on both plays.

I can't stop re-watching Curtis McNeal's long touchdown run beginning at 0:31. UCLA's linebackers moved forward and got trapped in the box. Barkley clearly indicated a hand-off to the left side. UCLA's safeties immediately run to their left, away from the play leaving the field on their right side wide open. All the O-linesman make their assignments and there were two guys left to block then McNeal was gone. I'm flabbergasted by the defensive signals.

@ogdocvato I respectfully disagree. That offense had the potential to score a lot of points, but they'd go flat. Sark was OC but I have a feeling PCl was overriding him. Remember the Rose Bowl vs Penn St? SC scored 24 in the 2nd quarter, and scored only 7 points after that. The offense was fluid, explosive those 15 minutes, and conservative in the 2nd half. SC could have blown out Penn St by 24 points if they had kept the foot on the pedal, like those old thrashings of Iowa and Oklahoma.

Those few powder/royal/navy/aqua-blue clad Bruins that showed up to "cheer" for their team (I don't recall hearing any of them at all during the game), witnessed ANOTHER gutting of their team at the hands of SC. USC won the 2011 PAC-12 South Division (7-2; 10-2), beating the title-game "representative" 50-0 and finishing with 2 more wins in Div.-play than the Bruins. USC also beat the PAC-12 North Champion - at their home, one week after Oregon thrashed then #4 Stanford (now 11-1 & BCS-bowl bound). UCLA had all the motivation in the world to show up for SC. Nearly everyone associated with UCLA has an almost obsessive hatred for SC. They invest everything into this game & would have given their coach's spleen for a win vs. SC. Yet the 4-straight losses, & 11 losses in 12 years wasn't enough to inpsire them to show up. It is obvious that U.C.L.A. should have spent their time in practice on the football feild. Maybe UCLA players were worried about getting their white uniform dirty. UCLA should burn those white uniforms.Just looking at the uniforms will also remind the UCLA players as well as the students at the school of the nationally televised ass kicking given to them by USC. Oh the shame, tsk, tsk, tsk. Oh the sheer horrors of UCLA playing like high school freshman football.
