@MrJJModern uh it's a known fact that chinese television often have people lipsync, including those in competitive shows. It is especially more possible when this is the Olympics. Imagine if a performer, any performer (not just Vitas), messes up when the entire world is watching China. Why would the Chinese government risk tarnishing their national image when they can simply have someone lipsync. Like every single singing performance by celebrities during the Olympics is done lipsync'ing.

@acyu they don't do it anymore and have started to fine people for lipsyncing. For concerts, people usually refrain from lipsyncing. Vitas lipsyncs a lot on TV (and he bores himself out by singing awful to save up his voice) but he sings his concerts live.

In recent performances Vitas has cut down a lot of effort and sings "badly" on purpose as part of the contract (but he hits high notes perfectly). They want newer stars to shine instead of having old stars stick around.

Vitas is NOT lip syncing. His live performances come so dangerously close to studio quality, it's unbelievable. He is THAT good.

I think the media got him frustrated about being accused of lip syncing so now in his recent performances he proves that he's not lip syncing by taking away the mic from his mouth. I think it kind of ruins the song, but that's what you get when you falsely accuse the guy so much!

@nikthepilot Actually if you know how to sing well anyone can hit that. My mom is a voice teacher and a speech theripist. Basically you have to open up the back of ur throat really wide then u can hit really high notes!

It's true that the Beijing Concert you can't tell if he was or not, And maybe he was.. But there are at least 30 videos on YT at least where it's painfully obvious he's doing it for real, There's even an Underground rehersal video that was shot when he didn't know, where he's doing it.

Wow. I was not expecting that. I was referred to this video, not knowing what to expect. That escalation into that first high note was awesome. I had chills along my arms. Simply fantastic.

His Chinese at the end was cute. "I love Beijing. You are great." But when he said "great" in Chinese, he said something like "pong" (phonetic spelling.) So when I first heard it, I thought he said "You are fat." He meant "bong" = "great."
