  • Is that Ray Cramer conducting?

  • 5:26 AWESOME!! THATS INTERPRETATION... otis murphy has steel cables in his mouth, his embouchure is proof of it.

  • @TheDesertlocust my bad....its 5:24

  • Although Kenneth Tse did a remarkble job, I think Otis Murphy has a better interpretation. Not to mention this accompanying ensemble is WAY better than the one accompanying Kenneth. Many times they cover him up. This ensemble is way better balanced. A nice, dark robust sound.

  • Definitely teared up at the climax at 5:05. Beautiful. I really hope to study with him for my Masters. He's incredible.

  • I cant stop listening to the bend at 05:23

  • what is name of the band play this?

  • he's a professor at my university (Indiana)... so talented, and so are his students! ^_^

  • Go listen to Kenneth Tse playing this song. I personally think it's better but you decide! It's on youtube.

  • @TheRealTAKO no way

  • @TheRealTAKO I think Kenneth's notes are a little more clear in some parts but he lacks emotion when playing, especially when it gets to to the song climax at around 5:05 - 5:51ish. That's just my personal opinion though. Both amazing players!

  • @MurphyZeke I can't agree more. This version triumphs for emotion. Just phenomenal, all around really.

  • @brinkofdisasterfreak - he plays a gold plated Yamaha Custom EX with a Vandoren AL3 mouthpiece.

  • Otis Murphy is amazing! I have been playing the sax for six years, I hope i can meet him sometime!

  • I may just be an intermediate (sp?) sax player but i can recognize good altisimo. And ther it was. Flawless. Anybody know what kind of sax he's using? Jwk

  • 5:04...my God.

  • @Chaotross I know . . .

  • god that altissimo is flawless...

  • I like his interpretation, but I am not a big fan of his single speed vibrato, Probably at the more expressive parts Otis should have a more variable speed vibrato to fit the music. Other things: nice blending with the ensemble and insane altissimo!!!!!

  • theres not one guy in the orchestra.. not one.. alllll asian ladies

  • @XdarkdomainX There's a guy playing French Horn!

  • "Bitch, come over here and have sex with Otis Murphy. I'm Rick James, Bitch."

  • Dr. Murphy > Dale Underwood??? please reply =) thoughts, personal experiences listening, etc

  • I love how he looks up at the Heavens at 0:46 and is like, "Hey God, betcha can't do THAT."

  • The part from 05:05, made me tear!

  • He has a 15" penis.

  • @hmin310 think you mean 15' lol

  • @redsox3438 Hahahahaha! I stand corrected!

  • holy shit, Ray Cramer's in this too. This video just got MORE cool points.

  • Best tone he fits with the whole thing perfectly he doesnt stick out he blends in even though you can hear him perfectly perfect volume best version of the solo. Great altisimo. Perfect!!!

  • Wonderful!

  • The scary part is he's even better now.

He's such a student of the instrument that he gets better every time he plays the horn.

  • 9:05 THE MOST POWERFUL ES IVE EVER HEARD lol yes!

  • I LOVE OTIS MURPHY!!! I TAKE LESSONS FROM ONE OF HIS STUDENTS!!! :)

  • @CAMB1231 me too!

  • Otis Murphy is the best!!!

  • this guy is a serious force.

  • @suntzu2004 to be reckoned with :)

  • His run coming out of the cadenza? Mind = blown. And his interpretation of everything (especially the cadenza) is the most musical of the three. The only thing I don't like is that his vibrato's a little fast during the expressivo.

  • His run coming out of the cadenza? Mind = blown. In so many ways. This is an awesome performance. His interpretation of the piece (especially the cadenza) is probably the most musical of "the three." And everything's so clean!

  • this guy is better than anyone i've heard.

  • Dr. Murphy >>>> everyone who played or will play Fantasia for Saxophone. It's a fact.

  • @choypia Dr. Murphy >>>> anyone who has played or ever will play the saxophone period. NOW THAT IS A FACT.

  • Between Otis Murphy, Dale Underwood, and Kenneth Tse, I can't pick a favorite rendition. Otis Murphy, love the way he cleanly blows through those sixteenth note runs. Dale Underwood, best Expressivo. Kenneth Tse both impressive finger work and expressivo. Anyone ever hear Charlie Richard from Riverside play this piece? Absolutely amazing!!

  • Very impressive. I'm reading this piece and hoping I can get it to a high enough standard to compete with this next spring. Is it weird that I want Dale Underwood's sound, Kenneth Tse's technique, and Otis Myrphy's speed and style in regards to this piece??

  • only matched by kenneth tse...

  • jesus christ...

  • Otis Murphy is awesome! Would love to study with him one day...

  • @brth77 oh yeh

  • @brth77 i studied with him
