@therock557 Yes, well, it's all fixed up now. I needed to put extensions on this computer, but I accidentally installed x86 (Intel) instructions on a PPC (PowerPC) computer. And yes, that music is from Heavy Weapon. Good ears.

I didn't know iMac G3s had kernel panics! What about Mac OS 10.2?

I also find it funny when Apple names their crashes.

@EpicMan83 Of course they have kernel panics. Every system needs to have a crash screen incase something goes wrong. And I don't see why it's funny why it's named that, I don't think Apple even named it that at all. Microsoft calls there error a Bluescreen... really... they do.

It says at the first line, Unable to find driver for this platform: "PowerMac3,1'

Which means the AppleACPIPlatform.kext file is not match with file Mach_kernel.

Try booting in single user or verbose mode.

@robloxlover55 Mac OS X uses an EFI boot loader, you will have to find someway for it to emulate that or a completely different method. Mac OS X isn't made to run in a VM.

@robloxlover55 Well this one didn't technically die, I accidentally put x86 extensions on a PPC computer. The answer to your question is 1. One Mac died on my from someone turning the power off while it was turned on. They flipped a switch and the PSU died.

You need to use a powerpc Disk for Tiger, intel disks will screw up the pc like this.

i have all the panther discs i got with the g3 but when i put the first disc in and press and hold the C button, it still goes into the kernel panic message. what do i need to do? I also tried installing tiger without updating. That the reason for getting this message i know. Any help please people?

@MikesiPodHelp101 You need a PPC disc though. That disc is too new and that is most likely why it is not working. Trust me on this, please. I have done this before.

@MikesiPodHelp101 Well I searched and I don't see a PowerPC one. Maybe you can just search Mac OS 10.4, or something. Just maker sure the one you are buying is for PowerPC.

Why not put a new hard drive in it and put 10.4.11 on it. More ram the better. If you are currently running or was running os 9 you need the firmware update before you go to os 10.2 or higher. Run firmware update in os 9. Good luck.
