Im headed there next summer any suggestions on what to bring? I have a nice pack, TNF verto 26 (im not bringing much) but am not sure on what products to use/bring. I am in need of a good knife aswell.
Im desperately wanting to start traveling more, backpacking the Tetons/Yellowstone area is something Ive been wanting to do for a long time, however the most experience I have is a few couple day hikes around the IL and WI area. Should I be tremendously worried about the skill level needed to backpack the West? Any advice on how to get the ball rolling on planning for such a trip?
yes! it takes a lot more than ur used too out in the flat lands, it will be the hardest hiking u will ever do, but do it anyways, it will be worth it. be well prepared and equipped. and aware. better to error on the side of caution out there.
there are much better trails of the beattin tourist path that only locals know and i hope it stays that way ppl just flock here and do really stupid things and ruin everything but it looked like a fun trip hope you had a happy and safe time and enjoyed your visit

This was in mid August 2005. There were still plenty of flowers and snow. I hear the earlier you go the more snow you may have to deal with...
