I never lived in Denver, CO, but I lived in Rapid City, SD for a few years. Anyway I used to pick up Y108 on the AM dial at night. That radio station used to play this song quite a bit as I heard this just about every single night. This song is OK, it kinda reminded me of Georgio ("Sex Appeal", "Tina Cherry").
He was another one they said Motown was trying to make into a Prince wannabe, but he had those 2 songs and then disappeared. He and Nikki came and went quickly. They played "Notice Me" the most.
Notice Me is definitely the best. There was another song he sung back then. I dont recall the name. But, if I heard it. I would remember it! So if ya'll have more Nikki please post! It was Nikki then Linear! OMG! Sending All My Love. Good Times!
@Kiyawicicitstana You're probably thinking of either "Come On Over," which was the b-side to "Notice Me," or "Ooti Ooti," which was his other single from this album.
I never knew he had any other songs besides "Notice Me" and "Come on Over". This is a pretty good song and fits the era. He and Adam Lambert favor a little bit and he does seem to have a Prince like vibe and from what I've seen on other shows, those that are similar (musically) to stars usually get overlooked or totally dismissed.
The Best song..is Notice me..then Body Rub.that never got Air Play. well his First cut was this one. then was his second song come on over. then the last hit was the best..Notice me. love that song.
he was little known,.....lol,...but this was a bad little motherfucker to pull this shit off like this!!! would you believe it?,...I have this entire original CD in the living room?,....lol,...and I'd fuck somebody up if they touched it the wrong way! hahaha! this track if fuckin' crazy sexy,...like Nikki himself!
Wow, I saw this video one time on MTV and was amazed because this guy looked just like me. hair clothes and all. Hey ,it was the 80's. Thanks for posting, this is rare indeed
This was a killer dance track from the summer of 1989. Got some airplay on dance outlets in the late 80's but like a lot of pop vanished as quikly as it arrived. I found the CD on ebay and it's great to see the video!
Great video! I a picture I drew of Nikki from a magazine published in 1990: and he has the same hairstyle and jacket! The magazine is out of print now. I've been trying to find out more about Nikki for the last 4 years/ I finally found a breakthrough tonight. He's been an enigma since I drew his picture. Before tonight I haven't heard any of his songs. This video is a real treat! Thank you if you have any more videos of Nikki I'd like to see them posted here .
I'm sorry, but this video looks straight 80s! LOL!
