  • Interesting conversation, Mr. Morrison.

  • This is great he is so descriptive I fell as if I was there.

  • Jim is a human being, not a god.

  • @Fanjayaforever

The hotel is still there and it's still the Hyatt Regency. I was looking at downtown Atlanta last night on Street View, looking into a Megabus trip. It is between Baker and Simpson on Peachtree St NW.

  • Everyone is right about him. So fucking charming.

  • It's interesting that Jim tells this story about someone "jumping from the 27th floor" -given that he only lived 27 years...ndb -just a thought. He obviously had a taste for the macabre -but he's not alone there is he...:)

  • Jim morrison endulged with alcahol and acid led to his demize no conspiracy' if anyone should be looked at it would be Hendrix lots of strange things surrounds his death

  • I remember that hotel in Atlanta he is talking about. My parents used to travel to Atlanta a lot in the late 60's and early 70's and I always remembered seeing that hotel because it really stood out to me when you would see the Atlanta skyline coming into view. Not sure, but I don't think it is there anymore.

  • some one gave me a cd she moved out to cali , of this its was nice to hear jim talk i lost it on the road but it nice to here the interview again

  • @teg598 that's not true mr. asshole

  • @teg598 Then why the fuck are you here? If you hate Jim so much, don't watch this. Moron.

  • one million views we can do it people

  • @teg598 You sir, are a dickhead.

  • Each of us, is a person of our own destiny. And how can we allow others to dictate the way in which to live our own lives?

  • ah the poet morrison,

  • he is my prophet of great mother, he is my prayer, he was and will be what the christians call guardian angel to me....since he left his mortal skin in 1971 i was nine by then and english was a foreign language to me back then but my soul understood from the first time i heard his voice,he is my religion...hail to the lizard king, he can do everything.

I am no addict nor mentally ill.

  • @hellifairy

    EXTREMELY BEAUTIFUL!!! <3

  • R.I.P Lizard King

  • how on earth did that comment up top get 30 thumbs ups? i'm just curious because to me it sounds like stalker potential. A lump in your throat forms as your writing, that?...Jim was pure brilliance and one of a kind who had a unique way with words, music, and life.

  • Subtitulos en Español!! :(

  • what is the name of the hotel in atlanta cuz i want to go there

  • Yeah, man I dig the South.

  • One of our biggest losses. He will ALWAYS be missed! R.I.P.

  • the doors of perception

  • and then the wind blew-and old indian rom the past rode by on a bicycle and he was saying "did you see the happening?"-when i woke the room was parched and I was dark-all around me the darkness shone thru the long night and I was weeping for the mother I had but never knew existed. MAMA!!! I took a face from the ancient gallery and I swiffered the hall-spider monkeys had decended like hard rain after night fall and there was an old man sitting next to me making love to his tonic and gin-rummy.

  • this is the best part of the trip. this is the part i really like....what he say man?

an ancient lunatic reigns in the trees of the night. hahaha

  • @LegendofJack he excelled in literature and math.

  • @thepixieful Oh yes, I know! He also knew of philosophy, theosophy, and many esoteric scriptures, and I'm sure much much more! I'm sure an above average IQ. Very interesting fellow! I feel connected to him in all sorts of ways. I have learned much from him, his poetry rocks! There are also many others to learn from. I could never idol any of them, but they all have very interesting stories! but Jim I have an odd connection with!

  • @LegendofJack the neighbors. I write too. be well. same school. also he was pardoned the day after his 67 b'day in florida regarding old deeds, odd but cool.

  • Let's plan a murder or start a religion..

  • The first time I saw him, I had to call my friend who looks exactly like him, but she's ginger. I've started calling her Jimmy. Shame I was about -20 when he was around

  • i like shrooms

  • his mouth runs so fluid-like so sexy

  • Am I the only one here who thinks Jim looks rather like a cat at around1:55? Maybe?Idon't know maybe I'm too...Wednesdaycats

  • Amen! we should invent a new heathen religion. there are so many people who feel this strange and intimate relation to Jim Morrison, we should meet all together... okay that is just adream.

I am not psychotic and I feel about Jim like that since I was nine. I am 48 now.

  • @hellifairy I know what you mean about a "strange and intimate relation to Jim Morrison". I feel a deep connection to him.

  • it sounds like he is talking about the W Hotel Atlanta Midtown

  • hey i read this interview online!

  • One of the few real free-men the world has ever seen ...

  • ROSETTA WEST

  • Who cares about his IQ, this guys a fucking amazing artist! His music is surreal and brilliant, every time I hear it it makes me smile and it makes me cringe at the darkness that is contained in it, that's not music, that's something else, something more entirely! RIP Morrison!

  • some how i dont beleive jim sat down and took an iq test.....

  • @theman1819 They did the test in high school for better placements for collage or what have you. He tested at 149.... bet if he had really applied himself to the test it would have been higher then that. Cause like you said he probably did not want to set through it lol. His sister & dad talk about it in interviews and I think it is in his scrapbook also.

  • @EB1050482, Morrison's IQ was 149 not 175.

  • @JimBowie1133 no it wasn't smart ass it was 160 learn your shit punk

  • @d0low0life , wrong jackass. it was 149. Albert Einstein's was just above 160.

  • @JimBowie1133 Correct. It was 149 which is as high as fuck. Where did you get Einstein's?

  • @TheRockLover1000 , just through reading....yeah, Jim was super intelligent, evident by his lyrics and basically anytime he spoke...

  • @JimBowie1133 Also evident in his self-destructive behavior....a lot of intelligent kids are like that.

  • @TheRockLover1000 frequently people that are this self destructive have been molested as children.

  • Wow, I am glad to have heard this...because I go out of way my to run over midgets, and I am deathly afraid of clowns. Fucking clowns are gay and evil, soulless motherfuckers, but hey, they are strong, scary fucking strong.

  • The CD 'An American Prayer' where Jim reads his poetry to Doors music is the most hypnotic amazing out of this world record ever. I can listen to this voice forever!!!

Jim never really died - he just moved to the other side, the next level.

  • @berndphoenix

he broke on through, indeed...and i cannot wait to see what it will be like when

    we join him!! <3

  • Show me the way to the next whiskey bar.

  • I've been listening to this interview a lot lately. They released it on CD, though the title escapes my mind... I can't see your disc in my mind...

  • he did his things and left quick ....and its so sad ...great poet and singer !

  • There is an interesting article about Jim Morrison's death at erichufschmid(dot)net. It says that Morrison's father was a U.S. Naval Admiral who was in a fight with Israel over their attack of the USS Liberty which killed 34 and wounded 170 sailors. The article says that the Zionist criminal Jewish network killed Jim Morrison in retaliation for Admiral Morrison's stance against Israel. It says it is also possible the Jews were worried about Jim Morrison's indepedence so

    they killed him.

  • When sober, Morrison proved amazingly thoughtful. His alcoholism was a pity, because this guy was really much more than "rock-and-roll."

  • @joekiddlouischama

just one of the many, many reasons that if anything must be illegal... it should be alcohol & cigarettes, and not marijuana! =p

  • @Nibiru3600X I've long felt that the "War on Drugs" constitutes a hypocritical waste for that reason.

(And I don't possess a personal axe to grind, as I've never used any "substances.")

  • there will never be another one like you

there will never be another one who can

    do the things you do

  • IM IN NEW ORLEANS :DDD

  • 2:54....Morrison is driving a dodge charger!

  • @LaDottoressa46

    yes! yes! <3

  • i LOVE how jim ran the interview and not the interviewer

he constantly interrupts the guys questions following his own train of thought :)

  • I used to have this whole interview on cd.

  • @Calbenmike wow really!! Where on earth did U get it??

  • @SSEanBarr I bought it at a local music store in my town back when I was 18-19 yo. I'm sure with the internet, it would be easy to find. But then again, I think ithis cd was considered an "import".

  • i already found myself again

  • one of the smartest men this world has known, we should name a day after him. R.I.P. Jim we will always miss you

  • @sean18ism December 8th. His birthday

  • @sean18ism im jim reincarnated i know how hyperspace works i will have my holiday dont worry im doin it for you DJ LUCY THE 2ND COMING i look like sailor jupiter

  • @sean18ism bullshit. Jim Morrison was a wise man but everyone's talking out of their asses about how smart he was. He hated that. Develop a mind of your own and stop sounding so generic. You people come a dime a dozen you know that?

  • @googpower shut the fuck up? everything i just said was out of respect for him, grow up and realize that

  • @googpower ,haha,you're pretty sharp.And smart people dont kill themselves.Or do they....

  • @555Nato derp derp derp a herp herp herp durp

  • @googpower ,you're not taking the same stuff as Jimmy did,do you?

  • @555Nato canned beans and acid. canned beans and acid. canned beans and acid.

  • @googpower ,interesting.By te way, gladiators ate Beans and barley and dried fruits. For they were called barley men.

Much better than xtc heroine or those kinds of chemicals that make your brain rot

  • @555Nato Because that was the chief component of their training diet? Indeed interesting

  • @googpower ,oh yes. They found high levels of strontium in their bones indicating a vegetarian diet.Their bones were consideraby stronger than average.Especially their hands and feet. Most of them did not get old(duh). So they did have something in common with some stars of 'today'.For they were stars too back then. Many pussies got wet from watching these men fight.

  • @sean18ism

Every day is Jim Day ;)

  • @sean18ism I agree. I say December 8th (his birthday) to remember his wonderful life.

  • a 1968/1969 national geographic magazine has an article on atlanta, photos of the hotel are in the spread

  • Poet of the call-girl storm She left a note on the bedroom door. "If I'm out, bring me to." ----- I dropped by to see you late last night But you were out like a light Your head was on the floor & rats played pool w/your eyes Death is a good disguise for late at night Wrapping all games in its calm garden But what happens when the guest return & all unmask & you are asked to leave for want of smile I'll still take you then But I'm your friend"
  • "This is the strangest life I've ever known." Jim Morrison R.I.P.

  • anything...

  • he died? NO! MY LIFE IS RUINED!

  • I saw the Doors perform live w/ Jimbo in 1970 at the Felt Forum in NYC. We had center stage seating...10 rows from the stage.

    Magic!

  • 27 floors... how ironic

  • @maitaliana No kidding.... perhaps something to the '27 Club' after all.

  • Jim morrison is the greatest rockstar to ever live hands down! R. I. P. Morrison

  • i am the pussy king ... i can fuck anyone

  • @Heavenangell09 sure, faggott

  • "I thought it was a beautiful town...Very Strange" lol what a legend

  • Jim didnt die, he dropped off the face off the earth.

  • @KWACKnockedShrimp Too good for this world

  • I want to grasp the reality , like I did it once ,as depicted here by the lizard king

  • the thing i love about jim morrison is that its like talking to hannibal lector on payotes. he just says artsy shit that no one would think to say in simple conversation. he is an american poet.

  • thats coz he was always stoned

  • OH YEAH. JIM MORRISON IS NOT DEAD. ♥

  • He had such a beautiful speaking voice .

  • people can say what they want yeah jim was a drunk and did his fair share of drugs, but he was one highly intelligent man and had so much passion and soul with everything he did

  • I have this interview on CD and it's quite funny. Eventually Jim and the interviewer get into an argument.

  • @GrizzlTooth Could you post it for us?

  • lsd creates some strange things

  • Anyone from NO, who knows if the Napoleon mural is still there?

  • @Jeet27

I was wondering the same thing. Is the mural still there... and is the hotel still there, and what is it called if so? Thanks

  • Anybody know the name of that painting?

  • Jim Morrison= MK Ultra product.

Do some research people. Lovely how his father commanded the ship that was "attacked" by the North Vietnamese at Tonkin, eh? Admiral Morrison.....military bases....rabbit hole is deep.

  • @Portis1Luv Dude how much weed have you been smoking, what are you trying to say here?

  • @Portis1Luv Oh I see, perhaps your quite right, but if he is a product of MK Ultra then surely he wasnt a bad thing for humanity?

Unless you see him as a precursor to the decadent and glamorous performers of today? I don't think you can compare them, Morrison was a poet - but I can see how certain elements of his success could be used by mass media to promote a certain sort of ideology/hero worship: over-thinking over-analysing separates the body from the mind

  • @br4ve Sure, over-analysis can indeed lead to separation between body and mind, but then again so can blind hero worship or idolization. Laurel Canyon is an interesting place, with a very peculiar history....have you heard of it? I wouldn't compare Mr. Morrison to any of the "artists" today, but he certainly had a tremendous impact on the youth movement of the 1960s....where did all of these "sex, love, dope" hippies come from? Abbie Hoffman would like to know.

  • @Portis1Luv mmm I hadn't but i'll look into it, and into Abbie Hoffman as well - swing me a message anytime you want. I have subscribed to your channel dude, peace.

  • everything is so strange to morrison

  • To educate jobo706.Jim spoke this way all the time. His thoughts were well oiled before he spoke all the time stoned, drunk or otherwise,so as not to(like Sara Palin invent words or stumble all over herself). What is really painful is to see you post something so irreverant it's a waste of space on You Tube.

  • at 1:40 i almost thought that was Val Kilmer haha.

  • @sasukekunfan87

    mee tooo!

  • At the end it sounds like Jim's describing the end of willy wonka and the chocolate factory.

  • His Govt. assignment was done when he was 27, just like jimi's was too. Naval Intel made Jim. Ask his dad.

  • he's not stoned thats how he always spoke in interviews by 70 he was done wth pot alcohol had him by the balls depression & anxiety ultimately led to the self medicating that took a brilliant poet from us. Jim suffered very deeply. He wasnt a hippie or any of the other labels from 60s. He was a man of extreme intelligence and sensitivity. There hasn't been and never will be another entertainer like him.

  • @jonnynarcotics: Beautiful description <3

  • @jonnynarcotics thats coz he's always stoned

  • @jonnynarcotics the thing with Morrison was that he was to smart for the feelings he came across in his lifetime... Jim was one of the last real philosophers this world will ever see.

  • @jonnynarcotics he was never really into pot that much but ya it would be incredible if he was still alive it disturbs me that he had to be taken so early his death is the only celebrety death that when thought about puts me into a depressed state and it annoys me that people dont understand it.

  • @gusthepugisownt: Same here gus. Jim is the only (famous) one who makes my heart pound, my knees go weak, my mind soar & who instills in me a belief of existing soulmates. He is the only man, whom I did not know personally, that I've ever cried for. A lump in my throat forms as I write this. He is beautiful. I would have given anything to be in Pam's place. I HATE that he was taken from us =( But will be eternally grateful for him...for as long as I live. <3

  • @Nibiru3600X you need to really grow UP!! You sound pitiable!! I laugh when I think how easily all of us can be HYPNOTIZED by celebrity!! I Promise you YOU would have NOT loved to be in Pam's PLace!! You w0uld have ended up on Heroin yourself!! You think that Morrison would have treated you ANY better than he treated his COSMIC MATE?? Think agin you silly, lonely GIRL!! Find Someone whom the spotlight has never shone on and you stand a far better chance at true love/happiness!!

  • @Nibiru3600X yes man you're right..the same for kurt coabain..he wasn't an emo nor a poser as many want to call him..

  • @headbanger985

yes! i love kurt as well...he was another beautiful soul that was

taken from us WAY too soon!! =( <3

  • @Nibiru3600X ooookaaay

  • @Nibiru3600X Couldn't have said it better :-)

  • @jonnynarcotics

What does pot have anything to do with it? He was a smack user

  • @jonnynarcotics: Well put jonny. Thank u! RIP my Jim <3

  • sorry that posted twice by mistake...comp was acting up =p

  • @jonnynarcotics well said. Ride the snake on the hypnotic river of music

  • @jonnynarcotics Alcohol is the worst thing ever..

  • @jonnynarcotics I totally agree. He was and is a poet before a singer in my mind. Can not under stand why people were busy in England listening to Beetles and the people of America and England were listening to Elvis. Jim wrote all his own lyrics and was so out there for his time. With an IQ of 175 I do not think any one could claim that at the time.

  • @jonnynarcotics except me... :D

  • @jonnynarcotics Don't know if I think of him as an entertainer. Much more than that. It's too limiting a word....

  • Danny Sugerman's conducting the interview. He ran errands for Jim and the rest of the guys when they were recording or hanging out at their office on Sunset. Anyone whos a Doors fan should read life death legend, theres a great story about Jim bringing Danny home to have dinner with him & Pam.

  • i seen this abunch of times i love fact we can get a better

look into jims life thanks for uploading.

  • i hope you all know that jim didnt really enjoy smoking pot after awhile because it just made him paranoid. read the biography

  • he is so stoned in this... like pay attention closey. he pauses between every word.

  • I read that his favourite band were Ray Davies's Kinks. That was no throwaway either.

  • With such a brilliant mind only a few years prior, playing this audio clip is like listening to a friend try talking, after waking from a severe brain trauma...very painful & no doubt due to the bottle. I know all about the heroin/hundreds of acid trips, but John Lennon had a similar love affair w/ both, for twice as long, and he never sounded this pickled, even at 40...But he never had that infatuation w/ Dionysis like Jim either! My addiction degree (major-opiates, dbl.minor-acid/alcohol)

  • Fuck miceskin I cant believe that you read what I wrote and didn't realize that I'm saying exactly the same thing. absolutely drugs have definitely been the fuel that has driven music to great highs and just about all the music I like including music I make myself is definitely hugely chemically influenced. perhaps you should read what I wrote again cause I think it's pretty obvious that I said exactly that

  • huh, 27 floors...

  • once he stopped taking them and took up constant boozing his decline was rapid certainly physically when you look at how little time he went from looking godlike to like a fat bloated biker tho he still put out great music and in the end his death is most likely attributable to the lethal combination of alcohol and heroin

  • likewise Jim Morrison was an intelligent talented good-looking guy but the psychedelics drove his poetry and song writing to new heights and elevated him to mythic proportions.

  • while it's true that many people took drugs and and they didn't become as amazing as Jim Morrison just as with Hendrix who was obviously a great guitar player taking acid propeled his playing from the Delta blues to the rings of Saturn

  • @afterlife4u2 "See, I think drugs have done some good things for us, I really do. And if you don’t believe drugs have done good things for us, do me a Favor: go home tonight and take all your albums, all your tapes, and all your cd’s and burn em’. 'Cause you know what? The musicians who’ve made all that great music that’s enhanced your lives throughout the years...

    Real fucking high on drugs."

    --Bill Hicks

  • laxlaxlacrosse I mainly agree with you, Its 2004carit I disagree with. I think if Jim Morrison had never taken drugs we'd probably of never of heard of him.

  • the real jim morrison articulate, thoughtful intelligent etc.

  • the drugs are what made him its the drink that made him decline

  • @afterlife4u2 I wouldn't say they made him. Mostly just added to him, and I wouldn't say that the drugs didnt help with his decline.

  • @afterlife4u2 agree

  • I wonder what attracted Jim about the Napolean mural, I want to see it now.

  • "Victorian Rocketships" Only Jim Morrison.

  • he was great, a genius and hot too, I want a man like that without the drug problems, love you Jim!

  • @Tinaalv that would be me then.

  • @W164TV I hear ya, man. I just got into a classic rock kick over the last few days...listening to The Doors, The Moody Blues, Jefferson Airplane. I think people just need to be exposed to it again. Maybe all the former hippies should campaign. Haha

  • @W164TV hell yeah i like the zepp and pink floyd ones

  • @W164TV um your a douche please be quiet and stop typing/ trying to get people to repost your post. AND LISTEN TO THE MAN BEING WHO HE IS, LEARN.

  • @W164TV i say stop give a shit
