This is a really lovely piece of music, you have a talent which not many people can even aspire to, well done and good luck with the rest of your future projects :)
For two days now I keep coming back to this vid, really good. I don't play the double bass, but I think I will learn it on the electric bass. Well done.
VerityPabla nailed it on the head. Who really cares if you're classically trained or not? You have a lot of music creativity, and it shows. You can adapt to any instrument with that. :)
Disliking the fact your using your ring finger when you're at half position. It also sounds like you're playing it as you were a guitarist and not a bassist. Great Job though!!!!!
@simonhayden Loving the fact that "you're using your middle finger when you're at half position." It's your bass dude, I don't think you're hurting its feelings by giving it the middle finger at half position. You make that bass do what you want it to do, I like it.
holy crap. you must have an awfully big hand to be able to play with your thumb over the fingerboard. do you play rabbath style? i noticed use of the ring finger, which is non existent in simandl teachings. then again you're probably not using either, cuz this style technique seems anything but classical lol
never seen you concentrate so much and no wonder as thats the first thing you played bro i could never even get close to!!! no idea how that big fella works!!! rock and roll!!! when you coming to hk son!!!
Hi Marcus, wow, like 'Stefano Bollani' does? I was on the same bill at a similar time to him during the coventry jazz festival in 2005 therefore unable to catch his set but I heard that he was plucking and hitting the grand pianos strings whilst playing!
Very modal. OK to use ring finger as you are playing double stops, much easier to articulate.
GOOD job.
