When a person who spends every waking hour with their family, friends or colleagues is depressed enough to commit suicide, somebody would get a hint that this person was at least a bit down.
Everybody close to Gary has apparently said he definitely wasn't depressed and showed absolutely no signs of the illness. So although everyone in the media is stating as fact that he had severe depression, I'm inclined to think there was another reason why he killed himself.

When a person who spends every waking hour with their family, friends or colleagues is depressed enough to commit suicide, somebody would get a hint that this person was at least a bit down.
Everybody close to Gary has apparently said he definitely wasn't depressed and showed absolutely no signs of the illness. So although everyone in the media is stating as fact that he had severe depression, I'm inclined to think there was another reason why he killed himself.

There's a theory that the papers know why he killed himself but don't want to publish it whilst the Leveson inquiry into the media's intrusion into people's private life is ongoing.
It will be interesting to see if anything comes out in the inquest. Maybe a mention of a suicide note.

Gary unfortunately seemed incapable of confiding in anyone, & the shock of a gutter-scum tabloid issuing a story tipped him over the edge. Whatever, its a massive tragedy to football & his family. The tribute at Elland Road today will be heart-rending, & bravely his wife's going to be there. Strong woman, full respect.
