You should do a bit more research. Wicca is not ancient, it is only about 60 years old. That of course makes it no less valid as a personal path, just not so old. The rabbit and the eggs represent fertility and the name comes from the ancient European goddess whose name is often spelled Eostre. The placing of Christian holidays to coincide with somewhat similar pagan holidays was nothing more than a rather successfull bid by the early church to assimilate the pagans into the fold.

i am 100% catholic but i find nothing wrong with what Robin Williams says. That said, I will be the first one to admit that he is CORRECT in his estimation of the holiday of easter.

Easter (Ishtar) is a PAGAN holiday that was adopted into the Roman Catholic "Church" (cult) and bequeathed to protestants who don't follow the bible.

I am Christian, but easter/christmas/halloween are all as PAGAN as the day is long.

I am Pagan, and you are 100% correct. Easter and Christmas line up pretty closely with two Pagan holidays, the winter solstice and vernal equinox. Halloween is a very old Pagan holiday and as far as I know has nothing to do with Christians, but I could be wrong.

howdy friend. thanks for backing me up on the facts. You would be surprised how some very large supposedly christian groups deny that these holidays are pagan, Roman catholics especially. Then again they deny that their "church" is pagan as well. But if you look very closely you will find the catholic church has much more in common with paganism than with christianity.
