Hurricane Fly is good but overrated imo, he can win but he needs to improve to beat Binocular, I like Oscar Whisky at the prices, improver.

I agree with 'TheSamfa87' and i also can`t believe noone has mentioned Menorah!! 3 runs at cheltenham 3 wins!!

As for Hurricane Fly, his record reads very well but is unraced at cheltenham which could be perceived as a negative.

My money will be on Menorah with binocular chasing him home.

it will be hurricane fly my friend! watch the radobank champion hurdle at punchestown race last year to define how good that horse by cantering past dunguib, punjabi , medermit and was a storm over the last to beat solwhit by a neck even though solwhit was badly beaten on this champion hurdle but u can put hurricane fly anywhere ina race aat any pace and will be alryt, 2 horse race in my opininon but best ever champion hurdle this year in theory u cant pick a winner top class race!

We have still to see Khyber Kim this year. He doesnt need to improve by much (perhaps 5lbs) and he will be the champ!! Ive been better him ante post for the past 6 months!

the CH is shaping up to be one hell of a race with as there are quite a few potential winners. i still think that we will see the real binnocular come race day although hurricane fly was mightily impressive over the festive period.

@cmcgrath of course i know binocular wasn't right weeks before the race and credit to Henderson for helping to get him right, but how do you explain his run at newbury in the fighting fifth, ok so he wasnt 100% race fit, but still his hurdling wasnt amazing, Peddlers cross was by far more fluent throughout the whole race. I was there that day and a few people made the observation that he has grown alot through the summer and now looks more like a chaser, not saying it will happen but who knows.

What about the bloke who layed him at 999/1 when we were told binocular was not running. He must have lost so much money on that race! Every £999 he put on he would win £1, which makes me believe he would have lumped on...but why not as Binocular was not running.

@Jamie2462A The reason why Binocular was a "non runner" during the build up was because he had problems. During this season, he hadn't been at his best, he didn't win a race until the time before this race, but even that was at 1-9 and won by a length. It was revealed he had problems with his back muscles so Henderson withdrew him, once NH was happy with the horse again, they put him back in the race. :)

i wouldnt say he is the best hurdler of a hurdle (not saying is is a bad hurdler) i was at sandown the race before the champion hurdle when he beat dee ee williams and marodima, and he brushed the top of pretty much every hurdle. i think people may be getting a bit ott on binocular already comparing him to the great istabraq. however this was an awesome performance, watch this space

@lukeyboy1325 If you knew much about the game you would realise that in his three runs prior to the Champion last season Binocular was never right. Henderson was never happy him and that was because of his jumping - he was convinced Bino was injured so he said he was going to be a non runner. He sent him to the well respected John Halley and they knew he was back when he began hurdling brilliantly again, so he did run. I saw Insta and Ive seen Bino - Bino isn't as good but hurdles just as well.

Amazing horse and the best hurdler of a hurdle I've ever seen.

I remember loads of moron blogs on Racing Post the year before saying he wouldn't get up the Cheltenham Hill just because he was outstayed by Captain Cee Bee in the Supreme novices, when Captain Cee Bee was a 7 year old, and Binocular a 4 year old.......that one simple fact was lost on them.
