It was mainly successful with women.This lead to the women having less babies. It was successful in gradualy lifting people out of poverty. This program taught financial management as well.

I had some missionary friends, and they did build 1 room schools in some towns, an eye glass clinic and help with constant flood problems (and silly natives that build on steep unstable hills) aid programs do NOT exist. Some people are lucky to be in a 'chosen charity village'. Orphanages get some help...

@PaulsJadeAngel A lot of the time, we have the best intentions, but make the problem worse. If you dig a well in an arid area because you see people starving and thirsty, you think you are doing good. With a well they can raise crops, and have water etc.
Come back to this area a few years later and the population has doubled, and the expanded population needs another well.

In countries which have low birth rates people live a decent life. Countries which produce too many children are poor, there are not enough jobs for everyone. We don't buy farm...of course we couldn't afford to if that was required. We just farm close to where we live. It was mainly successful with women.This lead to the women having less babies. It was successful in gradualy lifting people out of poverty. This program taught financial management as well.
I think education is the key, but why should I have to pay for it. I cant afford to have children, why should I pay for others to them.

7. the level of fear in the country is nearly unsurpassed and has gotten worse since I left. People fear for their lives, and will not stand up to the corruption that leads to this poverty.
There is a mix of the poor and rich that make it worse, those that try, and not enough education

If you step back and see it objectively, the solution is clear, the more we pay them to have babies, the bigger the problem gets.
If they for cultural reasons fear contraception, that is their problem not ours. I was not put on earth to finance the upkeep of anothers culture while my own is dying out.

I had some missionary friends, and they did build 1 room schools in some towns, an eye glass clinic and help with constant flood problems (and silly natives that build on steep unstable hills) aid programs do NOT exist. Some people are lucky to be in a 'chosen charity village'. Orphanages get some help...

@PaulsJadeAngel A lot of the time, we have the best intentions, but make the problem worse. If you dig a well in an arid area because you see people starving and thirsty, you think you are doing good. With a well they can raise crops, and have water etc.
Come back to this area a few years later and the population has doubled, and the expanded population needs another well.
Nature is the big looser here.
Expanded population = environmental devastation = loss of habitat etc
