That kid in a lab coat is still full of the magic wand theory of socialism that his teachers have funneled into him. His mistake has nothing to do with the good intentions of socialized medicine and everything to do with naivete. To think that 0bamacare will do more than bankrupt the US once and for all is like ignoring the color of the sky. The facts are there for all to see: WE ARE BROKE. More government will only hasten the nation's demise. Ironic that the young are the ones who will pay.
If they REALLY wanted free competition and capitalism then they would allow insurance companies to provide coverage across state lines. Public option is a trojan horse for single payer. Barney Frank said so himself.
Either way public option is gone...LOL
and guess what these students and their hospitals will get instead? more medicare patients. and guess what? medicare pays BELOW the cost of services provided in hospitals thus losing $. Many doctors refuse to see medicare patients LOL
How are they different? Do you think insurance companies won't simply shop around among the states until they find the one with the loosest regulations (lowest morals), base themselves there, and drive out any company that won't relocate there, just as the credit card companies did? Where is the fallacy in this prediction?
LOL those things aren't true. Liberals are pro terrorist, pro sodomy, pro killing babies, vulgar, pro communism, pro drugs, pro big government to control everything you do. Fascism, Marxism, Communism, Nazism are all far left ideologies. Your kind is not bright...you have pseudo intellect.
Liberals/Dems are the racists. Look at all the black communities. They are led by liberals and dems who provide blacks with false promises and continue to keep them impoverished. That's racism.
@nomopoly It surprises me how many americans think national socialism (or Nazism) is a "far left ideology". It'S far right douchebag and America is far away from socialism.
@KasCalwein socialism, communism, marxism are all far left ideologies. People try to associate the strict adherence to rules by Nazis as far right. This couldn't be further from the truth. America already has many socialist policies...many being played out by Barack and his admin. You're a naive tool with your head in the sand...silly silly ostrich. Socialistic policies now in play: new healthcare bill, take over of auto companies, take over of banks, welfare etc. Wow you're retarded
@nomopoly dude, I AM German, i know the history of my own country. Oh and guess what. All of Europe has the healthcare bills, even way more further than you have them. They are not perfect, but a) there aren't thousands of people every year that die because they can't afford medicine and b) Europe is not communist or socialist. 40 years of cold war have left America with a paranoia and red scare McCarthy would have dreamed of.
@KasCalwein Most of Europe has turned into a government and economy based on socialism. Your out of control unions are sucking the lifeblood from you. Germany is now paying for Greece's socialism. Healthcare in Europe is socialistic. We don't have thousands of people dying cuz they can't get healthcare. Who are you fooling? You're just spouting off far left propaganda. I lived in Europe for years.
@woutertron Do research on how 1 in every 5 patients in England die of colon cancer AFTER being diagnosed because they have to wait in line. How about canada where you must wait 6 months to a year for an mri. When needed an mri once i got it the same day here. I used to one of the uninsured in this country but i never once thought it someone else's responsibility to flip the tab for me. The healthcare costs will go up cuz of this legislation too. This isn't about altruism it's about control.
@nomopoly Your logic is backwards on so many points. Diagnosing cancer does not mean it is curable. In other words, you have a good chance of dying from it whether you have to wait for treatment or not. But the thing is, you don't have to wait, because people who are likely to die soon always get bumped up the line. The same goes for MRI scans. The reason YOU got a scan right away is because you're one of the few who can actually afford it. (cont.)
@nomopoly (cont. from previous) No, our system isn't perfect. Yes, our hospitals are backed up. The problem is not that we have affordable healthcare; the problem is that there are too few doctors to treat everyone. You seem to be saying you would rather guarantee immediate treatment for yourself, than improve the odds of survival for literally everyone around you.
@woutertron First of all I'm not "one of the few" that can afford healthcare. I'm part of the majority who has healthcare. Also you are misrepresenting my point. I believe strongly in supporting children, elderly and those with disabilities (aka people who cannot help themselves). However it is not my responsiblity to pay for those who are lazy or non competitive in the workforce. I didn't demand free care when I didn't have coverage. Neither should they.
Oh boy, affirmative action, filling our schools with immigrants. Is that why Asian immigrant students lose the most otherwise ensured acceptances? Because we have policies favoring them? Is it affirmative action that causes universities to charge foreign students more money than American ones, for the same education? Are you going to blame affirmative action for the fact that foreign students are less likely to flunk out, despite their severe economic disadvantages?
Even though I do not completely agree with the medical student, i believe that his method was great. He started with comments that attracted Beck to his ideas and then attacked him at the end. RESPECT!!!

The title of this video is pure bullshit. The student made a horses ass out of himself by stating the goverment will create competition. The goverment will undercut private insurance companies and ultimately force people into a single-payer system which is exactly what the 56 state race-baiter Obubba wants.
You know that ad hominem attacks are a logical fallacy? And that's precisely what comes to mind whenever I see these weird spellings some of you guys come up with for Obama's name. Obummer, Obambi, Osama... it doesn't make you look smart or intelligent, you know. In this video, this student was able to make a quick and concise point at the very end of the show, the only time where Beck wouldn't have been able to interrupt him. Beck was very rude to those who disagreed with him throughout.
He's talking about providing competition. A public option will make it so that the private insurance companies will have more incentive to compete, with lower costs and better care.
What red tape? Like having to provide care for people with pre-existing conditions? The private insurance companies need "red tape" to ensure they don't get away with denying people care. I don't see how buying insurance across state lines will fix what is the heart of the problem. And the heart of the problem is that insurance companies make you pay for a service that they then fight tooth and nail to deny you. What they do is criminal and its about time they were held to account.
Let insurance companies sell across state lines -- oh, you mean like credit card companies? We all know how that little experiment worked out, leaving us with the dysfunctional overpriced system we have now -- and no free-market competition in sight!

No it will just put up lots of red tape on private companies forcing them out of the field while leaving us with the low-quality government option.
To increase competition, how about getting government out of the way and letting people buy insurance across state lines for one.
