I just listened to the first 5 seconds of this song, then the first 5 seconds of Beast and the Harlot. They're not even that similar... Beast and the harlot starts out with a muffled growl and a heavy guitar + drum beat, and this starts out with a rising electronic note into a harsh drum slam and then a sick guitar riff... very different. y'all are crazy.

The opening rif does sound a lot like Beast and the Harlot, and to anyone who thinks they have sold out doesn't respect the true art of music. Evolution over time and make a new album. This album is amazing, yet so is Suicide Notes And Butterfly Kisses. For different reasons. True fans will respect Atreyu for not making the same album over and over like ACDC did. This is why Atreyu and A7X are two of the best evolved bands of this time still going, In 10 years look at what they have done.

They were all really hard core bands but then as the time goes on they soften up. It's happened to Atreyu, A Day to Remember, Greeley Estates, Escape The Fate, Asking Alexandria, Chiodos, Slipknot softened a lot with their All hope is gone album, and the list goes on and on. The bands are going soft :/

That's one of the things i like best about Atreyu. EVERY album is totally different, though they're all loosely metal-core they range from the original hardcore of SN&BK all the way to pop-accessible punk type stuff seen in LSPA but they retain there technical skill.

I've been an avid Atreyu fan since The Curse and I honestly believe this is their best album so far. Fucking sue me. After being very metalcore for a few albums and experimenting with a more mainstream/80s metal-influenced sound on Lead Sails, they're given free reign in this album to go with whatever sounds good to them in the various styles of metal and hard rock they've played and it definitely ends up working. Great album.
