Quick note from a British-Canadian living in Sweden (who just happened to think of this song from his past): Thanks mate, eh! This video is "jätte" cool ;o).
@goldhat3 when you say to play the d chord after the high d chord are you talking about the traditional one (first finger second fret first string, and second finger second fret 3rd string and 3rd finger 3rd fret second string) or do you continue to hold down the three strings with your first finger on the second fret? im a bit confused S:
You totally look like an ex-finance minister of Canada under the Mullroney government, Mr Crosby from Newfoundland. He was a no non-sense person like you who could communicate ideas quite well even with his special local accent. Thanks for the lesson my friend.
Thank you so much. I am fairly new to guitar, i used to get lessons but my father pressured me to do it and i quit , so now i'm going to try and learn some songs by myself (with your help ofcourse). and since you detailed it so much i will be able to learn it :) thank you so much for using your time to show people this. :)
Your lessons are a lot like apple pie - lot's of down home goodness! They are also a bit like pumpkin pie - simple ingredients, very tasty and without a hint of unnecessary upper crust. Keep that wholesome goodness a comin'!
Thank you sir! that was super nice of you to break it down so patiently, been playing that song wrong since it came out 30 years ago! ...off to the campfire!
A moon shadow used to follow me around after school when I was younger. I never really trusted it though. I think it just hung out with me because I had good drugs!
sir..your lessons are precious..greetings from IRAQ..

can someone please explain the base line to me? Although he explains it, he adds in strums when he pays the whole thing S: .

Hey, I was just kidding. That is pretty much what people I have found think regarding Cat Stevens. I applaud him for following his convictions.
