"Ceremony" by Joy Division/New Order is one of my favorite songs, and I think Radiohead did an excellent job covering it.

I feel Radiohead performs Ceremony better and truer than New Order. Thom just does sad really well, given the nature of a lot of Radiohead songs. I think he just has a thing for writing and covering songs about suicide... but Thom seems preoccupied with water suicide. Listen to Weird Fishes and Pyramid Song and you'll see what I mean. lol

I totally agree with your point. This is one of the best JD covers, but it wasn't Ian's last song. 'Touching from a distance' is a great read and has a great section of lyrics at the back.

The New Order version is my favorite. Didn't like JD's version as much. I'm one to pay more attention to the beat than the lyrics. That's just ME. So honestly the first time I read the entire lyrics was in this post. And I was thinking to myself how ironic that I love the song but hate the lyrics.
