@MrUndertaker9 - Interesting you should mention that - the Dirty Harry P-90 set was what this guitar came with when I got it, (installed by the previous owner). Not your typical strat tone, but they did sound pretty good.

What would you suggest for hendrix; true vintage or vintage plus.

@coughlintm - no real way to guess without knowing more about your gear, but I guess the pickups on Hendrix's strats were probably closer to the Vintage Plus sets. The strat you see in this video is the one I usually go for when I play Hendrix.

Meu grande problema é executar o vibrato durante um fraseado ou uma improvisação, quando, muitas vezes, você tem um espaço curto de tempo pra fazer o vibrato. Tem alguma dica ou algum estudo específico pra me indicar.

Cara, quero te fazer uma pergunta: Você fez algum estudo específico pra desenvolver vibrato? Pra toda pessoa que pergunto, diz que é apenas uma questão de ir experimentando e que, com o tempo, vai se adquirindo um bom vibrato. Eu até consigo executar o movimento com o pulso, sem problemas, e consigo fazer o vibrato soar com boa qualidade quando a nota soa por um período maior. (cont)

Cara, gostei muito das suas demos e deu para perceber de forma bem interessante a sonoridade do Vintage Plus. Teria como gravar uma demo com os True Vintage? outra coisa, em comparação aos fender CS 69, vc vê muita diferença de qualidade?

Quanto ao CS 69; gosto deles também, mas os VZ estão à frente... Acho eles mais bem feitos e com mais alma...

It's a Warmoth replacement ash body. Very snappy. All my other guitars are alder, though.

It really depends on the way you play and the rest of your setup... You can get a SRV-style sound from both, really. Even from the True Vintage, (which are my personal favorites). But if I could narrow it down to one thing it would be- if you're heavy handed, get the lower output Vintage Plus set.

good demo!! I have three custom built strats (all "partsocasters"), the two slab board guitars have a 1999 VanZandt calibrated Blues set and the other has newer 2008 custom order VanZandt Blues/Blues/Rock. I've just ordered a Vintage Plus bridge pickup today from them, can't wait to hear it in my maple neck strat, it's going in with 1996 Fender US Vintage R/I pickups in the neck and middle which got far better as the years went by. I'll try to get a demo up when it's installed.

Existe diferença de stratocasters com braço em cor rosewood e braços em rosewood só que com escala de maple?obrigado.

As típicas Stratos da Fender tem braços em maple. A escala pode ser - inteiriça, (não colada, simplesmente 'direto' no braço, portanto clara e de maple - fim dos anos 50); colada de maple, (um 'filete' de maple colado no braço - típica da década de 70); ou colada de rosewood em cima do maple, (começo da década de 60). Geralmente as escalas em maple tem um som mais estalado, e as de rosewood tem som mais 'escuro'. Eu prefiro a tocabilidade de escalas sem verniz - portanto rosewood. Abs!

Talking about amount of output and "agressive" attack, can the Vintage Plus be considered a "medium rate" pup between the True Vintage and the Blues pup?

Definitely! That's how they got their names. Here are the output ratings (Neck / Middle / Bridge):

- True Vintage: 6.05k / 6.05k / 6.1k

- Vintage Plus: 6.35k / 6.35k / 6.4k

- Blues: 6.9k / 6.9k / 7.0k

Cara, depende do que quero. Em média, o Vintage Plus é mais útil, mas os True Vintage são mais doces... Mais verdadeiramente 'vintage', como diz o nome!

O importante é que todos mantém um padrão sonoro entre eles... Dá para ouvir todo o 'quack', brilho, e outras caracteristicas que se esperam de uma strato com todos...

De qualquer maneira, fora estes demos, para efeito de demonstração, raramente uso qualquer botão da guitarra no máximo...

Fala, João! Estes caps são os mais SRV da linha, mas a combinação de tudo fez ficar mais SRV ainda. No meu site, (marcelziul ponto com), na área "imagem e som" tem algumas musicas novas minhas. Todas que estão lá foram gravadas com essa guitarra e amps variados, (Marshall Bluesbreaker, Superlead da década de 70 e JCM 900, Fender Bassman, além deste Tremolux). Valeu, João! Eu só toco com strato e desses apenas o Tremolux é meu. O Marshall era de um amigo que estava vendendo. Gravei bastante com ele, no entanto- o Marshall mais legal que já ouvi. Essas cameras digitais não fazem jus!

To ouvindo fala muito dessa marca e to querendo saber qual que é melhor da Van Zandt pra hendrix(timbre dos captadores dos anos 60, semelhante a intro da little wing), blues,rock e era do clapton com os lace (albuns Journeyman e From the Cradle )

Os Van Zandt realmente são muito bons. O modelo desse video é o meu preferido - um pouco mais quente que os True Vintage. Minha escolha para Hendrix seria este mesmo ou os True Vintage, que tem um output um pouco mais baixo. Mais estes aqui te darão um pouco mais de versatilidade.

What model strat do you have? What amp have you got?

Rory probably had low output pickups. Definitely not close to the "blues" model... I would go with either the True Vintage or the Vintage Plus set.

Sorry, sirchuckypoo... The I've only got the True Vintage, Vintage Plus and Blues Sets... I'm more into pickups with a little less output... The Blues set is kind of close though. Kenny Blue Ray is a Van Zandt Dealer in the US and he's played some VZ Fullertone pickups, which are vey close to the Rock pickups: watch?v=JTagiqGr9sg . Look for some other videos by him as well.
