Lol He hooks the low side up, which then it pegs out showing it has refrigerant in the system. Yet he said it was pulling a vacuum!!! Then the compressor tries to start-up. With the customer standing there he starts changing his story... Funny I always thought when a system is pulling a vacuum the needle sucks down now maxes out. :p
Go flyby night companies!!! You make equipment sales easier for those who know what they are doing.
why are you setting the T-stat from 74 to 65? it don't matter you are not cooling the house yet. sorry but he sounds like a slick talker. lack of experience.
its the cap, it did not come back on when he loosened the 24volts because some thermostats have time delay built in. it was probably on a 5min delay, not internal overload, compressor probably wasn't getting hot enuff for internal overload. he had fan, and no compressor, he should have be checking uf from the jump, gages should be the last option.
I hope you or anyone else never calls this guy again. He is the type of tech if you wanna call him that, that needs to be someones helper so he can be taught how to do it right. The reason the compressor didnt come back on after he turned it back on was because it went of on internal overload because the compressor was over heated. He said it was in a vacuum which was either a restriction or very low on freon which means it had a leak. I hope you got it fixed.
What a dumbass!!!! his gauges went into retard which means the compressor isnt starting. probably the capacitor is bad. The humming was the compressor trying to start before going out on internal overload. if he knew what he was doing he would first check the compressor for lock rotor amps and check the capacitor. wow jack of all trades master of nothing!!!!!!!!!!!
1st things 1st...he only ever hooked up the low side of his gauge set (the color doesn't matter, I use 3 sets of black hoses)...the low side pegged out!...I'd like to see what the higgh side did, but I'm sure it pegged out, too. Without looking at it, I'd say its overcharged (like waaaaay overcharged) and compressor is cutting out on high head (they do that to prevent an explosion, ya know)...Never saw what the tech looked like, but figure he has orange yarn hair and a big red nose...CLOWN!!
@cameron030362 Don't be stupid! The low side gauge was pegged because the compressor was not running and you can hear that the fan only is running by the sound. As soon as you heard that loud humm, anybody that knows what they're doing would know it was a bad capacitor. The compressor side usually fails first.
Id love to knock the shit out of this idiot , I didnt hear the compressor kick on that leads me to believe it is the Capacitor or he slugged the god damn compressor . It certainly isnt in the low voltage Go smoke some more crack and pawn them gauges Freak
If that buzzing sound is the compressor then its probably in lock rotor amp (Fucked), but if they are able to get the compressor on after the buzzing sound without going back inside to reset the breaker then I'd bet its either A: Slugged (Over charged) or B has non condensebles in the system (Some dumbass hooked up his guages without purging them).
Check the wires, check for dead bugs.
P.S when you went inside to set it to 65 did this guy dip with your money?
@JuliusRage thank you for your response Julius. It's very helpful but I don't understand some of the things you talk about can you please explain it a little more.
Base on the video the gauges is not connected to the unit properly............the yellow hose should not be connected to the service port.......If you or the tech connect the red hose to the small port and the blue hose to the large port ,you should get a reading from the gauges..Find a professional tech.....
@vladimy007 is not fixed this video is 8 months old.i cant tell you whats wrong with it by watching a video. the technician is a dumdass is all i can tell. but i could not hear the compressor running.it may or may not be bad. what was the problem i know its fixed by now?
