No one was riding the horses at the time. Hence why no one was electrocuted. The handlers leading the horses have stated they felt a tingling, one reported getting shocks- however horses wear metal shoes, humans wear rubber ones.

Also, the other horses were wearing a different type of shoe, maybe that's why they weren't taken out.

Also, as previously noted, when humans are electrocuted, the voltage goes up one leg and back to earth down the other, often missing important organs. Secondly, they weigh about 600kg and their feet penetrate further into the ground, nearer the cables. Thirdly, the ground is wet, encouraging electrical activity. It was only then that I remembered an old cable was under the ground there which was supposed to be cut off & it wasn't, which led to cable being disconnected and no more goat fits/electric shocks for the both of us.

Recently I took part in a counselling programme for male professional jockeys in the UK.
