sufis always touch the true spirit of islam. whereas the mulas always present only the superficial things which do not impart any positive effect on humans. whereas the teachings of sufis always make good humans.

@kanthasingh54 As someone who understands Islam quite well, I can attest that Zakir Naik's Islam is the true Islam. Bulleh Shah's version is waaaay off. Bulleh's understanding of God, of this world, and of God's relationship with humans is more in tune with what Upanishads and Guru Granth Sahib teach.

However, I do NOT agree that the Molvis/clerics (including ZN) don't understand Islam. They spend years studying it before becoming molvis. They rejected Bulley because they could tell that his message was not Islamic; It was so contradictory to Islam that they denied him Islamic burial.

@bugzy1231 First of all it's not a crime not to bow down to Allah but a sin. There is difference between crime and sin. A muslim may be a murderer or theif but still he is considered a muslim although he has committed crimes, but a muslim who negate Allah is a sinner. A sin is an act to violate a moral rule in a religion.
I don't think Baba was either a criminal or a sinner. He was a true Muslim and his religion was humanity and love for mankind which very less muslims possess.

How could you not be? Mohammed made a career out of that, and the early Muslims documented it. The fact that the muslim historians didn't even flinch at the barbaric practices also demonstrate that it was widespread among the original muslims and therefore a correct interpretation of Islam - if such a thing ever existed.

@gojetafu no doubt all mystics were great poets but they had different style of writing. Baba Bulleh Shah is considered one of the greatest mystic poets of punjab. Many of Baba ji's poems have been taken by bollywood and converted into songs, for example the famous song "Chal Chaiya Chaiya" from the movie "Dil se" was infact taken from Baba Bulleh Shah's poem "tere ishq nachaya kar ke thaiya thaiya", then the song "Ranjha Ranjha kardi ni mein" is also taken from his poetry.
Bulleh Shah is the greatest poet and philosopher of the last 1300 years. He had the courage to write against the caste system that had illegally entered into Islam. In Islam, everybody is equal, regardless of color, ancestry, nationality, religion, economic status, gender, etc. He was born in a family that called themselves "SYED". @gojetafu 'Heer" was not written by Bulleh Shah infact it was written by Waris Shah. It's not just a love story. It's a story having a deeper meanings. Heer is a symbolic story. I don't say that writing love stories is bad.

It is mention in book of leviticus that all those who are led by the spirit of god are son of god like iphram,adam,moses but if you say that begotten son than their is a problem. now the christian says that jesus are begotten son of god then u cote this verse of gospel of john

@gojetafu No Bulleh Shah didn't write plays and his poetry is not a love poetry. His calibre as a poet can be compared to that of Rumi and Shams Tabraiz.

@gojetafu no doubt all mystics were great poets but they had different style of writing. Baba Bulleh Shah is considered one of the greatest mystic poets of punjab. Many of Baba ji's poems have been taken by bollywood and converted into songs, for example the famous song "Chal Chaiya Chaiya" from the movie "Dil se" was infact taken from Baba Bulleh Shah's poem "tere ishq nachaya kar ke thaiya thaiya", then the song "Ranjha Ranjha kardi ni mein" is also taken from his poetry.

Bulleh Shah is the greatest poet and philosopher of the last 1300 years. He had the courage to write against the caste system that had illegally entered into Islam.
