Back then, as a kid, i never understand why my friends liked this so much when the original Quake and Quake 2 was so much better. GoledenEye is slow, imprecise and awkward to play. At least the control issue are fixed since this is a PC game now.

As a big Goldeneye 64 fan, I'm really sceptical about any games that want to try give you the same expierience as Goldeneye 64. And I was right. After Goldeneye 64 not even one bond game came that even came close to Goldeneye. And what about the Wii remake? Sucks ass, big time. After hearing about this game I did not expect much until I played it.... This is what they call a diamond in the dust. It's not a remake, but a 2010 version for the pc. It has been picked up where Rare left.

@DeepSevenfold Goldeneye 64 is highly dated, in graphics, story and gameplay. Activision did a great job recreating the game and putting it up to date. The gameplay would had felt wierdly out of place if the only thing they had changed was the graphics. I'm not saying that Goldeneye is bad, its just too outdated to get a simple graphical makeup.

@poliv67 i think its still the best fps ever made. there's no way the acitivision version will b seen as better then the original. mainly because it wont be as groundbreaking. although its much too early to say itll be crap. myself, along with many others grew up with goldeneye, its maps, weapons and characters etc. i was dissapointed when i found out it wasnt gonna be brosnan as bond but i can accept tht its not due to liscences or whatever.

@zauii89 Half life 2 was released 6 years ago, and its still amazing, when a game is good, it stays good. Half life 1 is a game that revolutionised gaming, and I hate it, the controls are way too fast and toutchy, the game gets really repetitive and boring at the second half, the art desing is uninteresting and the characters are cardboard cut-outs, the only caracter who isn't a cardboard cut-out, is the only character in the game who has a name. Half life 2 is better, stop lying to yourself.

It's better for being closer to it's roots. You have to take in to account that Goldeneye Wii is a reimagening of the game, not really a remake, where as the purpose of this mod is to bring back, in every aspect, the original game (great job)

And you also have to remember that the dialogue and script were modernized to reflect the world as closely as possible to today's times, as opposed to the cold war that took place during the original , both in the movie and film. Which, actually, went well.

This is probably great work in itself but this feels nothing like the original. There is absolutely nothing I loved about the feeling and gameplay that is represented in this video. Nothing actually feels right, its basically a multiplayer mod with Goldeneye looking weapons and levels... is it bad? There is no indication that they have kept the same control scheme where you hold down an Aim button which lets your gun sight float around the screen, but with the compromise of making you temporarily immobile.

I expect this is because it is mouse & keyboard, but this is what made Goldeneye great as it was in this Aim mode that sideways movement became Lean. Just more tactical that way.
