@VVarrio reaction times dont matter for these races. These are staged runs, basically, they set a time and they try to get as close as possible to their dialed in time. You could leave 3 seconds after it turns green and it wont matter with your ET or finish time.

Does anyone here consider the factor called clutch ? No. Well i also have an Evo but i dont always take off with the anti-lag on. I roll it on 1st and then 2nd does the job. I know what times my car pulls anyway.

I'm pretty sure the anti-lag system is there only to eliminate the actual lag the compressor gets when u release the gas pedal because the vacuum builds up in the intake whenever u enter a curve, break then accelerate again. (I'm actually speaking of a turbo compressor)

Since you are mostly going to accelerate all the stretch in a drag race, I suppose such a system becomes useless..

@dotamasta How many times do you take-off 1st gear hitting redline and launch the clutch? I dont do it often because i want to save my diffs, my engine mounts, gearbox and clutch. Depends how u drive mate and how u want to treat ur car. So thats where the anti-lag comes useful during take-off from standstill...Thats just me!

@KPAracing Good point, I didn't think of that. Personally I like to hit 4.5-5 k RPM before releasing the clutch, Just enough rotation to keep the wheels from overspin' and a good addition of power. With the engine alrdy going 5k rpm u should get the maximum torque and the less spin possible for the start when u release the clutch.

I think keeping the motor on the redline for starters, or *amateurs* is way too hard on the engine if it has not been properly mod to handle that kind of power.

the evo's and sti's will run 12 seconds all day how in the fuck do you do it in 17 even if you blow the launch why not see what your time would be if you tried so you would know the amount of difference a good launch gives you over a bad one. @CLUMZYLB I'd say S2k just because your not gonna have to worry about blowin a turbo. You can always modify the S2k and slap a turbo or supercharger on the stock block. Honda builds great motors out of the factory but depending on your driving skills the evo is more forgiving because of the awd. its entirely your preference and what your skills allow you to drive.
